Having watched most of your video's it's good to watch an old(ish) one like this where you're kinda just experimenting and playing and working it out as you go along. I model in the exact same way as you do here but in the back of my mind I always assume I'm such an amateur and that other people would do it much quicker than me. It's refreshing to watch this. Thanks :)
Here is a funny fact about modeling : You spend so much time on one part of your model and then you add a feature that covers the whole section and you try not to think about it.
Hey, it will be really helpful if you can tell me how you are getting the subdivision without the box/lines. When I try to do it, it shows me a very box around the cube, any idea how to remove that? Kindly help if possible. Thank you so the tutorial, i really wanna try this.
+Chris Froyd As far as I know, YT/YT App doesn't allow downloading. I could use a website that allows me to "steal" it from YT but I still have to get it on my phone. Vimeo has an app, and allows me to save what I want, when I want.
Hi! How did you make the edges look just as curved as the subdivision lines? I'm struggling to make the same but i have edges as a box around the subdivided mesh.
hey i just finished this tutorial recently, and also learned about retopologizing. Since the polygon count here is so low, do u think its necessary to retopologize this project? Thanks EJ! :D
Just what i need to get a proper bendy rig toon going!! (Watching new hellboy im going to attempt a hellboy toon, much more playful version!) Thanks bro! And...🙃 pls...u rule at sketching and modeling!!!
In the top right of your Viewport window there are 4 icons, the very right one with a box inside another box is the button to click to toggle 4 up window view.
How do you sculpt at the seam of a symmetry object without breaking the seam? I'm trying to sculpt a face but everytime the sculpt is too dramatic like the nose, it breaks the seam and leaves a massive hole in the middle. I cannot find the answer to this, i'm dying lol. save me haha
Typically you dont want to sculpt when you're using a symmetry object. there is the symmetry or mirror option for sculpting tools, so you can work just as efficiently and you wont run into those issues! good luck!
It was, but I got some help for another guy and he just helped by messing around with the symmetry tool settings. I'm super new to the program and the layout is not very intuitive. Anyways thank you for your help. (I was making this instagram.com/p/BcnW_TljjiJ/?taken-by=mistasierra)
I am a girl who wants to learn this and used her allowence to get Cinema 4D to attempt to animate and create characters for stupid reasons and dumb animations and is not very good. .-.
Hey Olivia! It's so awesome that you're investing in learning Cinema 4D! We need more girls in 3D! :) When I first started in Cinema 4D my stuff looked dumb and not very good either but if you keep practicing and learning you'll get better and better so keep creating and keep working! Good luck!
"As much as I suck at sketching, I equally suck at modeling" - The only necessary requirement for making a Tutorial in Modelling
hahaha, seriously...gotta get through all the suck before you get good, right?
True Story :) By the way, i like this Tutorial, it helps me a lot, so ... thank you :)
Very glad to hear! I definitely learn new things every time I make a crappy model! :)
this is the best comment iv seen in like 2 months, cried from laughter
It will be very helpful if hotkeys that you use will appear on screen
Found this: shortcutworld.com/CINEMA-4D/win/CINEMA-4D_Shortcuts
should be all the hotkeys for C4D
This is gold, you have no idea.

EJ, this is really good! I feel like I am there going through the project. Record more! full projects!
Thanks for doing these! It's nice to see some real time problem solving in these live streams.
+Chris Froyd Thanks Chris! Appreciate the comment and I'm glad that you find some value in the live stream format!
There is so much bull is this screen cast! And that is a good thing! It's looking pretty good.
+Carmai7 HEyoooo! Haha nice! Glad you enjoyed it!

eyedesyn thanks! watching tutorials on the Subway is the easiest way to learn!
+Potato No they don't.
Hi! How did you make the edges look just as curved as the subdivision lines? I'm struggling to make the same but i have edges as a box around the subdivided mesh.
Go to Options > Isoline Editing and that should help!
@@eyedesyn Thank you!
before this there's some crucial info about 14 seconds previous (maybe) 06:14
I really do not understand how he made the nose. how to add a loop..
when using the rectangle pointer to cut the cube in half im only cutting a corner of a hollow cube. how did you do it?
You need to make sure "Visible Only" is unchecked

Hey there! I don't know much about retopologizing but....maybe? dunno...haha
lols, I was thinking the same! :D Retopologizing is painful, I will skip it, haha. Thanks for the tutorial!!!

+kanadiou That'll come later!
+eyedesyn nice ;)
THANK YOU BROTHER
I am in love
Thanks for the kind words!
This is so great! Unfortunately the audio drops out at the beginning of almost every single sentence you say - maybe a mic setting? :(
It was a live stream so i blame twitch! :P
" so we had a face boob and a face crotch"
me: *visible confusion*
How the hell did he deleted the half of the cube without adding a loopcut?
how do you make the 4 windows?
In the top right of your Viewport window there are 4 icons, the very right one with a box inside another box is the button to click to toggle 4 up window view.
how do you make the cube "the center of all"?
i got it, you just pres "c" while cube selected.
C is to make the object editable, I think you mean the 'S' key to center the object in view!
eyedesyn yes, i wanted to do both, editable and center the object. thanks E. Great video, i will keep practicing
I dont know how to make the thing editable
Hit the "C" key to make an object editable.

eyedesyn I tried using that but it wasn't working. I dunno, I'll have to explore it a bit more I guess. Thanks for your help!
Sorry what I meant to say is that you should make your object editable so there is no symmetry object anymore and then sculpt
There's multiple symmetry settings, one for stamp and others, but glad you figured it out! Looks great!!!!

Prepare tutorial videos without saying the tools and shortcut you use!
Saying the tools and shortcut keys is helpful for people who don't know what tools I am using.
that is a one cute son of a bitch
