That reveal and end credit scene of this review. Lmfao.
Just caught the movie last night. It was charming. But imagine if we were introduced to her in phase 1 and always knew of the neck inhibitor as a something that would protect her brain after the crash (not unlike Stark's arc reactor) but she has still been a badass for the last 6 years. Then this movie comes out, the character and the audience learn she's been lied to, the neck inhibitor comes off and she gets WAY more powerful. The twist and her new powers would have been a story beat that hit the audience SO much more powerfully.
When you guys are doing MI in review the sign off should be "Mission Accomplished" LOL. Hell YEAH!!
man you hyped yourself! lol
No ... "This video will self-destruct in 5 seconds"
Go on then, leave! Get outta here, Greg! We never wanted you anyway. Only kept you around for the plot song, but clearly YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT THE PLOT SONG!
Actually, that is the symbol of the Air Force. It’s just the old version.
That post-credits scene was the most hilarious and horrifying thing I've ever seen
I respect Andy's Brand New reference.
Greg is arguably the biggest part of this show, his summaries are awesome and actually really hard to do, hope he reconsiders watching MI movies for the best friends.
he doesn't like watching movies and he doesn't like action movies haha
I have a feeling Nick is going to do just fine subbing in for Greg.
I mean Nick basically just did the plot summaries himself for the FATF movies. Greg would start then midway through Nick just took over cause Greg couldn’t remember half of the shit that happened (not bashing Greg, I’m the same way with action movies)
"I'm just a girl" felt out of place to me because it didn't feel like they choreographed the fight scene around the song, but rather added the song over top of the scene last minute.
Nah I had a big smile while it happen, I liked it
I can understand that, but as someone who listened to that song non stop in middle school, I had nothing but a smile on my face.
All you need to do is look at Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor Ragnarok to see it done right
Exactly. I was so pumped for the song, but lacked impact because the scene was lacking.
I love the song, and while it is on the nose, I appreciated it the sentiment-- but the fact that it wasn't diegetic when they had a jukebox RIGHT THERE actively took me out of the scene. I would've instantly forgiven everything else if it felt like it was couched in the scene itself, but just played overtop made it feel like a Production Decision™ as opposed to in-world serendipity.
I'm dying at the "post-credits". You guys are golden.
Nick did a better catwoman than Halle Berry, just saying
Dat cleavage!
In my humble opinion, when Tim is reading the rankings, it would “read” better if he cut out “number” and just said “One. Avengers: Infinity War” with a slight pause after saying the numeral. For me, it’s too repetitive to hear “number” over and over again and it rushes the cadence. Just my two cents.
Nick needs a raise. That post credit scene was unreal
I liked it a lot, much more than I was expecting to. That said, it wasn't perfect.
To keep thematically appropriate, the sign-off for MI:In Review should be someone (different every episode) getting an unexpected package (containing or emanating from: sunglasses, a shoe, Chad, Tim's MeUndies, Cool Greg's Sasha Banks standee, etc) that starts with... "Your mission, should you choose to accept it..." and then smash cut into the Ranking Screen and theme.
Would be a nice return to the 'post-credits scene' if MCU without as much production.
You guys talk about Dolby as if it isn't a common thing on the west coast. In my area of the Southeast, Dolby is in all theaters.
Really sad Greg isn’t gonna stay on. But hopefully he comes back for DC in review. Also could you imagine how funny he’d be in a HP in review?! He’d annoy the shit out of Nick
Are you serious?
puffwad I’m never not serious.
DC and Harry Potter are the only 2 In Reviews that I want.
@@byroti1234 So greg will not be on for Endgame?
puffwad I assume he is. He seems to only be interested in comic book movies.
I usually listen to these on audio only (spotify) and this is my first time watching but I'm glad I could finally watch you guys do the plot song 😂 never stop
Best post credit scene ever!! nick is amazing
Andy!!! Thought the exact same thing re: the juke box, should of started when the guy was thrown into it.
This was awesome, and we are getting another stellar in review series, that ending credit scene was also PRICELESS! Great work guys, I guess my only question is when does Game of Thrones in Review begin?!
Also wondering this. Since GoT comes a few weeks before Avengers. Will they be taking a break for MI to cover GoT and Avengers? Or will GoT be its own series?
I understand that Greg doesn't like action movies, but MI action is much different from the Fast and Furious action. I hope he can watch the first one at least even though it's the least actiony of the series.
All these comic book movies are full of action too. He said he doesn't want to watch guys fighting but that's basically all of these movies. It's really just they he wanted to play the Division 2 haha
Thought you might be harsher on it but I agree with where it landed. Really liked it
Do Andy and Greg ever explain why they think this movie was better than Dr. Strange?
Still holding out for Pixar In Review
Please never get rid of the plot recap. Best part for me, cause it feels like I’m watching/enjoying the movie alongside you guys.
1:20:55 I love how Andy just starts freaking out about the Tree outside and no one gives a shit
Much like Tim, I've never seen the Mission Impossible movies so I'm really excited. I'm also fine with Greg not doing Mission Impossible. I don't want to hear him saying "Buh, I could've been playing video games instead of watching this movie" every week.
givemedepussie pliss great series 2 is the worst 3 on just get better and better
28:48 PLOT PLOT PLOT PLOT PLOT!
I think people who say that T'challa/Black Panther wasn't very interesting in his movie kinda forget the internal struggle he went through. Finding out that the person he admired most in the world, his father, covered something terrible that he did to his own family member, and seeing the ramifications of that decision in Killmonger. Having to face that reality and standing up for his morals when he tells his father in the spirit realm that they were all wrong and that they must be better. I thought that was an incredibly powerful moment, one of the most powerful in the MCU.
my problem with Black Panther is that Michael B Jordan blows chadwick away in the acting department. you see the villain be so much better, compelling and cooler than the villain. huge negative for me. even shuri and michonne from walking dead were more compelling. not good for a movie called black panther
Lord Of the Rings PLEASE! You won’t believe how good they are!! Best trilogy of all time without question
Nah
I think clerks 2 is better
Aidan Carpenter how dare you
The "lotr sucks" joke has been going on too long, only andy seems to actually like them. I think I remember some of them saying star wars is way better than lotr as well so maybe it's better they don't do it coz they are crazy
Gavin Correia I genuinely think it’s impossible to sit through the trilogy and not feel something by the end of it. They’re still some of the best shot movies of all time including the special effects so they can’t bitch about that stuff either. Have faith
Greg going into the full ragubagu list killed me, endgames gonna be too much
PS. Not in a bad way just meaning I’m not ready to handle it
Glad having the boys back for MCU In review laughed the whole time
*Everybody all serious about the ranking*
Andy- "Omg that tree looks like it is about to fall down"
😂😂
I gave this a 7.5. It was just ok. I agree with andy, music was out of place
The little kid's T-shirt was Air Force colors, circa 1947
I thought this one was flat. Not a terrible film, but not great. It was pretty much like when a film gets a prequel novelization. This was the prequel for Endgame.
Really enjoyed this review. Agree with Andy, I would've put it below Black Panther but I totally see everyone's points!
Oh God that end credit scene lmaooooo
Also, how has Tim not seene a single M:I movie!? Very much looking forward to his induction into these movies.
Also, also, glad that Greg is putting himself out of the review if he knows he's not going to enjoy the movies. Can't wait to see him back though.
Anyone else notice the SHIELD continuity error ?? In Iron Man they are still trying to figure out how to shorten the name, but in the 90's they already call them selves SHIELD
I was really hoping the after credits scene would be the pager beeping and we see where it goes, Captain Marvel looks down and then up "Fury needs me"..."I don't feel right"...dust...
I never went from such a high to such a low, as finding out they're doing M:I in review then finding out Greg is sitting it out. Was really wanting his opinion on them.
But I understand it's hard to have to sit through 6 movies you don't care about. But I genuinely think you'd love em.
Cat Nick and Johnny Ace are gifts we shall cherish. Or the bane of Greg’s existence. Thin line, ya know?
Good lord this after credit scenes I missed them
The music in guardians works because of the relationship between the mother and son. It serves as a portal to earth and a reflection of the main characters mom - it is itself characterization. It doesn't matter if you've heard the songs before or not.
i appreciate your brand new reference Andy.
Haha that was the best end credit scene you guys have done yet.
omg, missed these so much''''
That intro is a throwback
OMG I just saw Nicks post credit scene in the suit...... BURN MY EYES OUT
Yessssss!!! I’m sooo hyped for the mission impossible in review!!
I love MI! I'm down to marathon those movies again.
OMG! mission impossible in review is gonna be so awesome
I just rewatched all the MI movies. They're all fun and entertaining - even 2 and 4. 1-4 are all stylistically distinct from one another as well, so it should bring up some good convos about what MI is supposed to be.
Ive never seen the Mission Impossible movies either! Looking forward to it.
What if Kevin Smith took Stan Lee's place as the cameos in future Marvel films now that he exists in the MCU thanks to the Mallrats Cameo.....could be pretty dope! Although Deadpool making cameos in the films would be awesome too
MCU in review always a blast. Let's Go!!!!! Mission Impossible !!!!
Not going to lie, got chills hearing the theme again.
Holy shit. You look amazing in a hoodie, Nick. You should wear them more dude!
Gemma Chan was pretty dope in this movie.
They didn't play many 90's songs? Are you kidding? Most of the songs they played were from 1995....not to mention the "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness" poster. They played Garbage, No Doubt, R.E.M Salt-n-Pepa, TLC most of those songs came out in 1995. I guess Barrett didn't recognize that because he was either not born or just a little kid in 1995
I like that you guys wait a few days after seeing the movie before reviewing it. This makes the podcast longer, I feel. Whereas when you guys review the movie the night it comes out, it's a short 30 minute thing.
They also reviewed it Friday on Screencast. Best of both worlds!
Am I the only one who liked the Just a Girl music drop? It’s a real fun, exuberant song that I feel really captures Carol’s feeling as she lets loose and loses her limitations.
The Ponderer captures what feeling? The feeling of blankness and boredom?
All the music choices in this movie are so horribly tone deaf and awkward. It's like they can't physically hear music, only the literal fucking words, the lyrics. Cringe all day.
Tom Smith hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahaha
For Recreational Use Only agree to disagree
Andy is it any coincidence that you chose the two songs featured in the Star Trek movies?
nice brand new drop andy , i see you
Where was Science with Kev? So much science needed to be tackled.
Ok so I don't mind waiting until Tuesday for Captain Marvel, but pleeeeeease tell me you guys are recording and uploading your reactions to Endgame on Thursday night.
They said every In Review would be Tuesdays to give people a chance to see it
As well as a steady schedule
@@cesartorres6249 that's kind of a ridiculous reason, but whatever. Like just bc something is uploaded, doesn't mean you have to watch it.
@@PieBlaCon Probably also so that they can rewatch it if they want to to better be able to talk critically about it and remember the entire plot. First time I watch a movie I forget whole sections until someone reminds me.
Also, they get to let their thoughts stew and simmer, and as everyone knows, a simmering stew is the best stew
@@PieBlaCon Sadly the youtube algorithm doesnt work like that
Nick those are the old school air Force colors with the old school logo
That end credits scene tho. Damn, Nick.
Nick at the end was gold 👌🏻
Holy fuck I was hoping there was an end credit scene but was in no way ready for that
I feel like my opinions almost always align with Greg
woodstock5952 similar thing for me but with nick
I don't see anybody else mentioning it, but I'm super confused what Tim is talking about regarding the Tesseract. At the end of Captain Marvel it's in SHIELD's possession and the next time we see it chronologically... it's in Shield's possession. Did some of them think Captain Marvel left with it?
The Johnny Ace/Henry Cavill double punch is the new jam!
Just got back from the cinema after seeing it. I wouldn't say it was bad but it just didn't do anything for me. None of the jokes landed, I didn't feel anything for any of the characters and the dialogue seemed lazy and forced, which is sad because most of the movie was just dialogue. The definition of Meh.
Jonny Horror Only character I liked was talos.
I was under the impression that the lightspeed engine was for the Skrulls, not the Kree.
I thought the goal of the Kree was to keep this technology away from the Skrulls so they couldn't run
I feel like Tim really wanted to rank this a lot lower. He barely made any comments during the plot recap unlike other MCU movies. Personally I liked it well enough.
I listened to the whole episode and just watched the end with the MI reveal and honestly forgot Tim was a part of this for awhile until right before the end
Tim doesn’t know why a movie that takes place in the 90s features 90s music. It’s best he keep quiet.
Bums me out that Greg ain't staying on. He's the MVP of In Review
Ever notice how the guys always talk over Tim as he is trying to intro the show?
I've waited so long to see nick in spandex. Worth it.
That after credits clip 😂😂😂
Oh the post credit was funny as hell 🤣🤣🤣
Disclaimer: this is purely just from a turn off your brain and watch standpoint because that's all I'm really good for. Also I like Marvel movies but not enough that I wouldn't watch recaps before Infinity War because I was so far behind (which I did :/). With that out of the way, I quite liked it. It didn't have any laugh out loud moments but there were definitely some times that I smiled at a joke. I didn't find much wrong with her "lack of personality" and thought she had good chemistry with Fury and her friend. In terms of the character itself, I really liked Captain Marvel and discovering the story behind her as I had probably negative knowledge of the character before seeing this. I thought it was a fun ride and an interesting story. I'd definitely recommend it even aside from it being Marvel. Also, her once she basically unlocked all of her powers was badass!! I can see how should could be the most powerful Marvel character (although Thor took a dying star to the chest). My biggest gripe is similar to what Tim was saying about her lines just kind of being lame. Also maybe leaned a bit hard on the 90s music (ie Just a Girl during a super cool fight scene)
16:48 "all that jizz" 😂
The post credits it disturbingly perfect
O my god ... that ending
New idea: all Nick Names episodes reviewed and ranked
plot plot songs is still the best thing of this show
Let's fucking go guys! I'm so excited for Mission Impossible! Tim's going to love them.
I don't mind Greg not being on it, I wouldn't want him to have to do stuff he doesn't enjoy just for the community, it would make the series less fun. And as usual they are being transparent about it so it's all cool
The end scene of this video oh my god
Can't argue with the placement. I put it just above Black Panther (same as Greg) but could see an argument for Black Panther and Dr. Strange above it. Really solid movie, was pleasantly surprised!
Hyped for Endgame. Hyped for MI. Still sad I’ve gotta wait for Harry Potter in review though
I have to question Greg DC fandom. He actually thinks CM is better than WW??? Ok.
omg that final stinger, what the actual fuck lmao
Nick Scarpino is a fucking national treasure. Recognise
Greg sticks around for Fast and Furious and skips out on Mission Impossible. It's like some abstract form of self torture.
Oh hey look Greg is half passing it now
Hoping James Bond in review happens because they're all on Netflix
That's waay too many movies, considering they aren't even all connected and more than half are terrible
only 360p?
The movie was okay, nothing mind blowing, not great but not bad either. It was a good Phase One origin story released during Phase Three.
