      @@vivianchevy unfortunately not. The microwave will make it hard as a rock! It might just need either more water, or less time in the oven depending on the size of your loaf

    Hello Paula, Thank you for posting this tip! I had the opportunity to test it, today, when I made lunch. I was making Sausage Peppers & Onions and discovered that the Italian Bread I had bought a few days ago and left on the counter in its paper sleeve had gotten rock hard! So, I warmed up the oven, ran the bread under cold water sat it in the oven for 10 minutes, and PRESTO! The bread was as soft and delicious as the day I bought it!
    I've also been happily making my own Mayonnaise for MANY months, now, thanks to your video showing how to do it! I never worry that I'm running low on Mayo anymore, since a fresh batch can be ready for use in under 5 minutes! I'm SO glad I found your videos here on RUclips!

    Hi. Thank you for the tips. May I know, why we should soaked the bread first? And did you pre-heat the oven?

    • @HowToMakeDinner
      @HowToMakeDinner  3 года назад +10

      Hi! Yes. I soaked the bread to reintroduce some moisture into the loaf, because when bread is stale it has lost all its water content. Without the water, the oven will just dry out the loaf even more. And Yes! I preheated it! Thank you for clarifying:)

      @@Speedydutch Not bad. Saved the loaf and made it edible. I think I needed to wet it down longer than the quick sprinkle I gave it initially. And may be I should have let it soak in a bit. The inside was a bit less fluffy-fresh than I was looking for. I think I was a bit too intimidated by the heavy soaking downpour given in the vid. Again, Fortune Favours the Bold.
      I'm keeping this technique, and next time I'll try to err on the side of egregious wanton-ness. For fun.
