It's called casting from a pool of actors/actresses the particular show is familiar and comfortable with. For example, the actor who played Frasier Crane's father (the late John Mahoney), retired cop, Martin Crane in Frasier actually portrayed a different character in Cheers as a jingle songwriter hired to write the Cheers bar radio commercials. Ditto for various actresses in Two and a half men who played Charlie's dates (Judy Greer as Herb's sister, Charlie's college age gf) ended up playing different characters as Walden's ex wife, department store/fashion designer girlfriend....etc after Ashton Kutcher took over for the fired Charlie Sheen. It seems series creator, Chuck Lorre likes to recycle actors/actresses for his various shows (not Cheers and Frasier of course).

What about sheldon’s father? In TBBT it was conveyed that he cheated on Mary and sheldon caught them which was the reason of his iconic knocks and also his father died quite young.
In the episode of TBBT Georgie told Sheldon that after George died Sheldon went off to college anyway leaving Missy and Georgie to help the struggling Mary.
Billy hasn't bullied Sheldon in Young Sheldon and also Sheldon does have one close friend did you forget Tam? I'm surprised you didn't mention these things

In TBBT from season 1 onwards family members of sheldon and sheldon himself have mentioned a family cat and a dog. However in young sheldon Missy constantly complains of why they cant have a pet in the house due to sheldon's phobia.
I love Annie Potts as young Sheldon meemaw. She's a terrific actress. Here's a fact that absolutely flabbergasted me: Laurie Metcalf plays Sheldon's mother on The Big Bang Theory. The actress who plays young Sheldon's mother is Zoe Perry, LAURIE METCALF'S 36 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER.
Alsp in big bang Sheldon talks about a pretty traumatic childhood where his parent were always arguing, and drinking. Whereas in young Sheldon both seem to be very loving parents and husband and wife.
I think this is the sticking point in Young Sheldon. If it continues several more years the family will have to change for the worst in drastic ways. If it becomes in any way the adult Sheldon remembers it will be impossible to continue as a comedy. Also, while young Sheldon Cooper is rude it is because he is clueless, not because he dislikes other people. The adult Sheldon is intentionally rude almost to the point of meanness, at least in the early TBBT.
I doubt tehy'll run the show that long. Sheldon will be going away to College, and living abroad so how will he be "young Sheldon living with his family in Texas"? it only has another couple of years to run.
It was. Their heartfelt "standing on your shoulders" speech always felt like a double love letter, to both Mr. Wizard and Bob Newhart himself. Given what his work meant to the "sit-com" genre of t.v.
It was because he came home early from school one day and his dad was messing around with another woman in his parents' bedroom. He did not knock that day, but did thereafter.
When you say the origin of Bazinga was finally revealed, you suggest they've been holding on to the secret for 12 years. Are you sure they didn't have "make up the origin of Bazinga" on a checklist for season 2, which they reluctantly finally came up with an answer by the 10th episode?
Remember that moment when Mary told Sheldon that he would be surrounded with smart friends and he said he doesn’t see that happening? Boy was he wrong about that
Another interesting fact is that Mary Cooper, on Young Sheldon, is played by Zoe Perry. Laurie Metcalf, who plays Mary Cooper on Big Bang is Zoe's real life mother.
In the same episode where he mentions agreements with roommate , wife he also mentions that he will have agreement with his own children. It may be possible that we might expect another seasons of tbbt.

At the end of one of the Young Sheldon episodes it is mentioned that in the future he write contracts for his roommate, his wife, and his kids.
Also his son’s name is Leonard
@@shreyaskulkarni5955 yes but it’s after Leonard Nimitz not Hoffstetter. Lol
@@debbie7505 ooh I thought he named after him
@@shreyaskulkarni5955 no when he said his son was named Leonard there was a short silence before he said after ‘Leonard Nimoy’ to make us all think that. Lol
I feel bad because he didnt like geology because a girl told him she was just babysitting him 🥺
Sheldon really likes geology but is embarrassed by his weakness in liking it, as he has embarrassment in previously liking the girl, too.
Funny how the voice of the swimming pool in Young Shelton was....penny
Wait really? I didn't realize that.
Professor Proton is more Mister Wizard than Bill Nye the Science Guy.
Mary admits to having his tested...then says she should have followed up with a Specialist in Houston.
The title is misleading, I noticed all of those.
That's not his laugh word its his prank word
young sheldon should use all the references that big sheldon says about his childhood in the TBBT show over the years.
Did you remember when Sheldon said: "That girl pregnant." He was being un polite, and his dad and mom was in the principles office, I think... The principal called Sheldon's dad was George, the father of Shelly, is called Bob not George.
All the above mentioned references were clearly noticeable...
I really enjoyed learning these facts. They make both shows more enjoyable.
Professor Proton is NOT an analogy to Bill Nuy. Professor Proton is The Big bang Theory's version of Mr. Wizard.
Well to be fair georgi must earn more than a doctor by now
Of course he does. Scientists working in academia don’t earn much.
did you know the first few episodes sheldon didn't do the iconic knock
Based on TBBT the knock started when he was in college, he started it because he came home early caught he dad f@#king another woman
Is Georgie not George. George is Sheldon father.
Well, Georgie is actually George Cooper Jr.
George cooper
What about sheldon’s father? In TBBT it was conveyed that he cheated on Mary and sheldon caught them which was the reason of his iconic knocks and also his father died quite young.
In the episode of TBBT Georgie told Sheldon that after George died Sheldon went off to college anyway leaving Missy and Georgie to help the struggling Mary.
Billy in young sheldon....so damn funny
That telescope that his father has given to him is seen in tbbt every time
OSSA: references you DIDINT notice
Me:Bro i realised all of them
and more
Leonard’s bully in TBBT is Young Sheldons dad!
Billy hasn't bullied Sheldon in Young Sheldon and also Sheldon does have one close friend did you forget Tam? I'm surprised you didn't mention these things
Also in tbbt Tam makes his list of enemies for "you know what you did"
@@lydiahaynes41 yah but that's not until they graduate high school
There needs to be an episode of Young Sheldon that has Mrs. Riley's Chicken.
I liked the reference about sheldon how knows football.
Drunk Sheldon is always a hoot!
I loved that scene cuz it shows that for all of little Sheldon’s sense of certainties, he’s going to be proven wrong later
I'm not looking forward to it, but Sheldon's father is supposed to die on Young Sheldon. I like the character of George and it'll be sad to see how that affects him
William McCollom it will take a while. I think Sheldon was 14 when his dad died.
Ye probably if they make a season 6 of young Sheldon
In TBBT from season 1 onwards family members of sheldon and sheldon himself have mentioned a family cat and a dog. However in young sheldon Missy constantly complains of why they cant have a pet in the house due to sheldon's phobia.
I dont remember cats and dogs being mentioned in BBT
It makes me think how Sheldon's father George would no doubt have been good friends with Bernadette's father Mike Rostenkowski!
sheldon hating christmas and knocking 3 times
It’s “ I’m not crazy, my mother has me tested.”
No, its insane. I literally just watched that episode
Leonard's school bully was played by same actor that plays the dad in Young Sheldon.
Okay good I thought I was the only one that noticed
I love Annie Potts as young Sheldon meemaw. She's a terrific actress. Here's a fact that absolutely flabbergasted me: Laurie Metcalf plays Sheldon's mother on The Big Bang Theory. The actress who plays young Sheldon's mother is Zoe Perry, LAURIE METCALF'S 36 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER.
"hello, my name is Pizza." Cannot unhear it
Alsp in big bang Sheldon talks about a pretty traumatic childhood where his parent were always arguing, and drinking. Whereas in young Sheldon both seem to be very loving parents and husband and wife.
Agree, I don't know what they're going to do to sync the series with that particular situation.
I always thought professor pelton was based on Mr.Wizzard.
I think you're right. Don Herbert hosted Mr. Wizard's World from 1983 to 1990. You might also want to look up a gentleman named Juilus Sumner Miller.
It was. Their heartfelt "standing on your shoulders" speech always felt like a double love letter, to both Mr. Wizard and Bob Newhart himself. Given what his work meant to the "sit-com" genre of t.v.
I would love to learn how Sheldon always knocks on the door three times!!
It was because he came home early from school one day and his dad was messing around with another woman in his parents' bedroom. He did not knock that day, but did thereafter.
I miss the 80 s. It was tough but was fun.
Young sheldon acts like adult
Old sheldon acts like a kid
When you say the origin of Bazinga was finally revealed, you suggest they've been holding on to the secret for 12 years. Are you sure they didn't have "make up the origin of Bazinga" on a checklist for season 2, which they reluctantly finally came up with an answer by the 10th episode?
You forgot the hot beverage reference
Remember that moment when Mary told Sheldon that he would be surrounded with smart friends and he said he doesn’t see that happening? Boy was he wrong about that
Another interesting fact is that Mary Cooper, on Young Sheldon, is played by Zoe Perry. Laurie Metcalf, who plays Mary Cooper on Big Bang is Zoe's real life mother.
I think the best way to end young sheldon is to show penny moving to 4b the screen goes black and we hear penny’s voice “hii”
Or how he actually mets Lennard :D
Lily Snape I agree it should be Leonard but even so in late season 2 Leonard mentions that he met Sheldon in the University
Lily Snape there’s a whole episode in tbbt where it shows how Leonard moves in with Sheldon
A Person I know
Was not Bill Nye, it was Mr.Wizard.(It might be before Sheldon's time, but the show's writers are another matter.)
Sheldon's fear of birds!!!!
In the same episode where he mentions agreements with roommate , wife he also mentions that he will have agreement with his own children. It may be possible that we might expect another seasons of tbbt.
I dread the episode in young sheldon in where he learns the three times knocking....
Its because of his dad cheating i believe or something like that
he dosent knock three times in the first episode of TBBT
It would’ve been cool if Adult Billy Sparks was on an episode of The Big Bang Theory.
sheldon in the 1980s would have been watching Mr Wizard that was shown on nickelodian
