"Grey market" is still a derogatory term, it will always remain so. They are still just as shady, unscrupulous and untrustworthy, no matter how much they try to legitimize themselves, even here on TV.

This is the same guy that staged a fake interview video titled "interview with an authorized dealer" and had one of his buddies sit in the dark and pretend to be a manager of a Rolex authorized dealer. The community eventually found out that it was one of his cohorts. Despicable. This was a narrative he came up with to push more gray market sales. So yes, they are 100% shady.

The watch market is dead. It's few of these grey dealers now doing a circle jerk pretending there's still interest out there. Many bought at the peak and can't afford to unload .. Try selling you Rolex Pepsi to a grey dealer and see how much they will offer you - ZERO, NADA .. They will take your watch on a consignment as a hostage and let anyone try it on before returning it to you.

Interesting segment. I would never buy a luxury watch from the gray market. If it's a watch I really want, I go to the AD or straight from the manufacturer. Watches I like hold value and they can still be expensive used and beat up/old so might as well dish out a couple extra grand to get one brand new. Also don't want to support unscrupulous people who buy a watch new and sell it higher to meet demand.

I said this many times on social media, people who laughed at him for buying that signed trump sneaker is laughable. think about this, how else can you use only 9k to do free marketing for your watch business and then get to meet former president and then be talked about all over social media and then now invited to a tv station which he can now leverage to build his credibility...... all this benefits for mere 9k shoes ( which now worth 20K ). genius indeed.

This is "grey market" explained - they wear the watches they got in stock and their client watches pretending to be rich because they got a "friend" who will "polish it" aka ruin the watches original finish. Never ever buy from DEALERS, do your own research and buy from a private individual who never opened the watch, never polished it to make it look "brand new".
