Ah, the port of Enns a.d. Donau, very nice and clean port. On the other side we unloaded soja not too long ago. The new crane looks a lot better than the old one, only the crane operator needs to work on his speed, with good crane operators on these hydraulic cranes, our barges are unloaded in record time compared to the cable grab cranes in Regensburg for instance.
@@StrangerandtheRaven I can understand that, and some parts have to be ordered but from an operator who runs one for 10 plus hours a day they're great!
Yeah that's mostly the operator, probably had that job for years and has them convinced he's the best when he's pretty slow and wastes a lot of movement, I ran 850's and they're excellent machines!
It's expensive and slow. I think it is more faster if they use conveyors, loading is constant. That huge mechanism takes time to travel while loading and unloading. It's travel after unloading.
The invention of the combustion engine ended the need for so much backbreaking work. Such clever machines have been created. Imagine what that would take without machinery. Unless you live somewhere where labour and life is cheap and bosses are too stingy to modernise. Or the communists are in charge and want to use medieval techniques as Soviets did when building those canals. 😬
Big equipment but probably not the best use for it here. I hope they unload lots of different stuff here. If its the same thing every time theres a better way
This is like a Fred Flintstone tech. It's an antiquated method. Too slow , to sloppy and too costly. A system similar to that of the Panama canal where controlled water space can rise and lower . these loaded barges can be made to unload from a higher water level onto their respective vats. Letting gravity do most of the work. Doing it right the first time will save billions in the long run. 🤔
That bucket is bigger than you think. You could fill 4 regular dump trucks at least

I adore these mechanisms.
I used to run wheeled 850's with outriggers, excellent machines, the Germans really make some quality equipment!...

Surely it would speed things up if a bull dozer was put in the freight transport Hull when the crane can't fill the bucket to capacity

they have these on Liverpool docks. but they are on tracks.

100% true brother 🙏🏻👍🏻. This green hand like a human stupidity
Have self unloaders on the great lakes. Takes a lot less time
People comment stuff like this but then refuse to use the self checkouts at Walmart because theyre taking jobs. I dont get it.

I would love to operate this machine even though it doesn't pick up a lot. I'd just need to be a lot faster to get the job done. 😊
That is a very inefficient process to unload! Conveyor systems would be way faster!
Cool machines 😎👍
Strong machine my friend sending full support from Indonesia 🇮🇩

Looks like the crew gets to go have a night out! Maybe a couple nights out.
The Hulett Unloaders were larger and faster...
The boom is subjected to a large moment, so it has four cylinders.😄

6-7 hour if they don’t stop
