New RC Rock Crawler Backyard Obstacle Course Build!

- We built another thing!
Really...this time it is a "thing". Not sure what to call it. A bridge, a mountain? What do you think?
I had been toying with this idea of the small boards stacked on end for awhile. Thought the small surface area, but combined with a lot of biting edges may result in something interesting - and it did!
We have since run a bunch of different vehicles across it - and you have to watch that low spot for sure!
What do you think of this "thing", and what should it be called?

Nice course! Diggin’ the obstacles, awesome stuff man!
Thank you! It has been really enjoyable over 2020 with the quarantines - plus I really like being able to test new stuff on it.
Sweet, looks like a fun course!
Thank you!
I'm enjoying these course building videos. Getting ready to start building my own.
Glad they could help! Good luck with your build.
Excellent 👍#58 Nice Video my friends 🤜🤛
Thank you!
Great addition to the course
Thanks - I think so too!
Wind chimes are a classic touch.
Thanks!
That was a good step by step tutorial and turned out great, like what you did with the cedar limb 👍
Thank you! Gotta keep trying new stuff, right!?!?
what a great addition to your crawler course looks a steep climb ah and a second addition too cool
*full view always 👍Au👍left our like*
I can always count on your for a full view - thanks for the support Billy!
It looks great,it's suppose to be a challenge. The Bridge looks great to.
Thank you! Yes, I don't think this is something that everyone will drive straight up.
That thing was awesome! Looked really good to! But Aww man the bonus obstacle looks like more of something I could start with lol.
Thanks!
The two new obstacles looked great good job. Thumbs up
Thanks for catching both of them!
Looks like a great backyard course! Love all the obstacles!
Thank you!
Nice obstacle! Dig the tornado branch too! Gives me some new ideas
Thanks! I appreciate your support!
Looke great dude...you du perfect trales... Kip it up 👑
I appreciate that! We keep on trying new things!
that rig makes it all look easy lol i love them tires wow
Thanks - yes, those USD sticky 2.2s are crazy looking!
So neat. Gonna have to go find some pallets!
Yes! No need for expensive materials - use what you can find!
yea, pallets I find free and you can literally make anything out of em. I'm thinking one day of starting my little scale camping scene with a couple of cabins I make with a small rock fireplace and all. I've got some scale accessories I've made by hand also that I've never seen anything like them before that I'll have to put in another video.
Awesome course!!! you gave me some ideas for an indoor course and a tiny backyard course.
Great! Glad it was helpful!
Both are very cool!
Thank you! I hope they will work well for awhile.
Wow amazing job! I live in lewisburg tn about 45 min south of Nashville. I just ordered me another crawler last week. Cant wait to get it. I want to start crawling again and going to event’s and so on! Fantastic job on the bonus obstacle! Amazing work!!! Hope to run im to you one day!!
Glad to hear from you!
Look up RC Field Days and Big Buddha's RC Ranch. Both are great places to crawl.
Thats a nice obstacle that you built dude, and the little bonus piece is cool to
Thank you! I appreciate you seeing the bonus obstacle also!
2 great ides let me go there with my crawler
👍👍💪💪
I'm happy for you to visit if you are in the Nashville, TN area!
@@RoadsideRC I'm in Hamilton new Jersey are but I'm always with you guys by RUclips 😂😂
@@RoadsideRC oh I know I have a question for you where you get the aluminum battery box you install on that everest 10 ? The one you giveaway
@@djflow1227 I apologize, but it was on the truck when I got it. My understanding is someone in the Everest10 Facebook group was making them.
@@RoadsideRC OK thanks what it's you name on Facebook
That’s awesome!!! I’m working on like a spiral staircase I guess you could call it. Hopefully it turns out good lol! Cannot wait to see more of your backyard editions!!!😎👍🏼
I made a spiral staircase also! I love that obstacle. Mine is only about 18" tall and does about 1/4 turn.
@@RoadsideRC awesome!!! How wide did you make it? That’s what I’m working on is how wide to make it, I don’t want it to be to narrow so when you’re turning there is enough room to make the turn. To narrow & well the rig will fall off lol.
I think my boards were around 18"-20" long.
Seemed too wide at the time, but turns out just the right width for larger vehicles.
Very cool man! I’m liking the course!
Thanks!
Awesome just gave me a few ideas I am doing one in my back yard
Awesome - glad to hear it. I have a few videos of my backyard crawler course if you want to check them out for more ideas! Steal away!

Thanks! Glad to hear from you!
Been looking just for something like this nice video thank you
Glad you liked it!
Man your course make mine look like a baby course nice video gave me some more ideas, also you need a mud area
Agree 100% - I think I want a mud area for sure. Just need to build a cleaning spot also. :)
Cool rock crawler course FYI you can throw objects on the ground..buckets old garbage can and throw a carpet upside down on it and throw Quikrete concrete on there to make your mountains
Thanks!
@@RoadsideRC your welcom 👍 love rc life!
This is cool 💯💯💯
Thank you!
Rock on!! Bonus crawling course. Gave me some ideas for my backyard crawler course! Is the wraith running the 550 12t motor?
Thank you!
It is running a 550 21T on 3S in this video.
It had been running the 12T on 2S, but when I went to these really heavy wheels and tires - it just needed more power. The 21T on 3S has been really good so far!
I just took my 2.2s off so my new motor won't have to work so hard. Can't wait for it to arrive and put it in.
It was helpful.
Glad to hear it!
Nice!
Thank you!
@@RoadsideRC I’m going to try and build a ladder using a similar technique. Also using cedar fence pickets. Thanks!
Awesome! A ladder is an interesting idea for sure!
That TRX4 is too good as a test truck. Run it with something mediocre! 😁
Ha! You might be right!
More ideas for the course I’m building, lucky I have tons of lumber kicking around because the prices are nuts right now
That is right!
Most of my stuff is made from scrap.
Cool course. I've got a backyard crawler course that's pretty cool and wanting people to check it out and leave some feedback. Been working on it for 3 months, it gets bigger everyday and I'm always adding to it.
Awesome! I'll be over to check it out!
I find all the videos very good and informative. I have a question I have a Slash 4x4 runs awesome with a 2 cell when 3 cell runs seem to lose power as if there were a 2 cell still in it and it is brushless as well. Any info would be great.
You must be loosing the power somewhere. I would assume the slipper clutch is slipping too much. Have you checked it?
@@RoadsideRC Yeah and it seems to be good. Both diffs and everything looks good
Is that Traxxas Sport body? Where did you get that roof rack man! Love it!! Please let me know
It is the Sport Kit body instead of the Sport RTR body.
It comes with hard plastic lights, grill, rear tailgate, the mirrors, and the expedition roof rack.
If you search for the expedition roof rack, you can see what it looks like before I started cutting it up.
Nice man I gona do the Same
Great! Having some obstacles in the backyard is super helpful for testing and comparisons.
Yeah me to I have some obstacles in my backyard and I got a Ecx temper gen 2 like you
Do you put some kind of weather proofing on the wood when your obstacle stay outside?
Some of the wood is already pressure treated, so that is OK.
Other wood that contacts the ground does get painted ,or sometimes just left alone.
I don't expect this course to stay the same for many years.
I wonder how difficult it will be once it gets weathered and boards warp...🤔
I hope it adds some difficulty!!
Im using some of your ideas in my corse thanks alot kp up the add ons so i can copy them lol
Happy to help!
Shit not the prettiest but effective as hell you got it bro hell of a job. 🤙🏻🔥😎🔥👍🏻
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 You really got creative with that extra little bonus piece there I like that very interesting. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thank you sir!
What are the crawlers in the video?
Traxxas TRX4 and Axial Wraith 2.2
Nice. I'm just getting started with my little girl. Ordered a redcat gen 7 pro. Gonna build a few obstacles over and around an old well house
Don't look very challenging. Is it?
Depends on the vehicle!
