      @@michaelsfabwork2985 I'm just starting with the welding, but I have a similar trailer (base trailer, not the stuff on it) and I think it might be smart for me to copy the way you did it, with the casters and securing system for the various things I need to load and unload from it.
      As a homesteader, my trailer hauls my water, generator fuel, propane, food, tools...everything that I can't lift up into my truck. So that caster idea might be a good way for me to do this. Just make multiple sleds.

    Very cool man. I live just south of Dallas, and I'm trying to get enough business to weld for a living for myself. I just bought a 10 ft bumper pull flatbed trailer 2 weeks ago. I'll definitely be stealing some of your designs for the skid and I like your cord and jackstand rack ideas too. It looks tight and efficient so far brother can't wait to see it finished. Also, would you recommend building a rack overhead so you can also carry longsteel/materials and maybe a ladder or do you just have another, longer trailer you use for that?

    • @michaelsfabwork2985
      @michaelsfabwork2985  4 года назад

      Thank you for watching and commenting. Yes I plan on adding a top rack to carry small steal and ladders for sure. It will be removable as well. I’m not going to carry big stuff because the trailer is getting to heavy now and like I said I’ll be putting another axel under it for load weight. The rack I’m thinking about is going to be square tubing in the corners well 2-1/2 so 2” will slide into it. I hope to get that done soon. Thank you again and take care and stay safe.

Plus i changed up the lead holders and that well be shown in the next video. I hope you come out with a video on your build man i like to see stuff like that. Take care.

      @michaelsfabwork2985  2 года назад +1

      Thank you for watching and commenting. Please use any idea from my build as you want to. To me that is why I like you tube to learn and get ideas for builds and projects. The only advise I can give you Is to do not be picky on jobs when starting out as long as it is making you money and you are using your rig then that is what it is about. The more you learn the more you earn. Don't be afraid to try new things and don't think if you mess up it is the end of the world. When you make mistakes use it as a learning experiences. I hope that helps. Take care and stay safe.

    Nice videos. You have a killer shop and rig... what are you working so manny hours doing? Your welding business or is this a side hustle? Ya man I'm looking to start my own thing also. I'm a pipefitter but looking to stay around the house more so praying my own business will support that ..

      Thank you for watching and commenting. I welded for a living for 27 yrs. I worked for a pipeline maintenance company for last 15 yrs. in February of this yr i quit to do my own thing. I have my welding i do on the side plus i have a couple of skid-steers and mini excavator that I work and rent out. I don’t make the money i did from welding and working for the pipeline but i do enjoy haveing more freedom.you can not put a price on your free time. Life is to short and I’m 51 yrs old and broke down and hurt every moment of the day. My wife and I sold that place in may and we are down sizing and building a new place. That is why I haven’t put any new videos out in the last 5 months or so. Working for yourself is hard but you can make it work if you put your everything into it and you cant put a price on your freedom. Take care and stay safe.
