    Best regards, great video, what is the name of the material you are placing, I would like to know how to learn how to do the calculation to charge for that type of work

    • @michaelsfabwork2985
      @michaelsfabwork2985 7 месяцев назад

      Hi thank you for watching and commenting. It is crushed concrete. There are free material calculators on google so all you need to do is plug in the dimensions and the thickness of the driveway or parking area and then it will give you the tons of material you will need. Or it will give you the yards of material you would need. Then you divide that total by how many yards or tons that the dump truck in your area can haul then that will tell you how many loads you need. I hope that helps. As for price I don’t make anything off the materials I just charge the customer what ever the dump truck charges then I charge for my time. I do min 200.00 even if it only takes me 30 min then I do 400. For a half day and 800 for full day. That’s a good starting point tell you do a few jobs and learn how long it takes you to do the work then adjust as needed. Plus it depends on your area. You can only charge what someone is willing to pay. Take care and stay safe out there.

    how did you configure the measurements to make 2 bends on the same pipe without cutting it? iguess to put easier, you bent the tube to 5'2" on both sides how did you keep the measurement for the length between the 2 bends? so basically the layout measurements to get the desired out side measurement, after the bending process. so if i wanted to have 5' across outside to outside after the bends but keep the ends parallel at 5" each. so the material would be roughly 17' long before the bend? please advise.

    • @michaelsfabwork2985
      @michaelsfabwork2985 Год назад

      Thank you for watching and commenting. Make you first bend then set it up in the bender and put a piece of pipe on the outside of the die and use a square to make sure it is square. Then measure it to the dimensions you want or need. I have a video making steps or something that shows it. I hope that helps. Take care and stay safe. There is a video I made that shows you how to figure your take off for a bend. You put marks every inch then make your bend and you can figure it out from there. I hope this helps.

    • @aloharandomvlogs9787
      @aloharandomvlogs9787 Год назад

      @@michaelsfabwork2985 it kind of does. so basically i have been trying to figure out how to precut and then bend. so precut the full length and then make my marks and then bend it. i know the size will differ for different projects how ever i am trying to speed up my game. say you call me for a rack i dont want to have to cut and splice. so when i make gates with those bends on top i have a preset measurement, but when i make the bend on one side the other side it does not come out the same.so i been searching for a video that would explain it.

      @@tsh30039 don’t sale yourself short. Just having the equipment cost money. I try to charge 250.00 minimum and 400.00 half day and 800.00 full day that’s 8 hrs. If you bid a job for a set price just try to figure how long it will take you. You will make good money some jobs and not so good on others. But if you look at like this. 400.00 in a day at 5 days a week that’s 2000.00. That should pay you bills and notes and insurance and everything. I’m not say just change that but I’m saying if you can average that a day for a week you can make it. Then the more you do the better you get at biding jobs the more you can make. So don’t sale yourself short. Take care and I hope this helps you. Where are you located?

    Great video Thanks for sharing and being so straightforward. I been working for myself since 1998. I am a little younger than you. You have to admit that it takes balls to quit your job and work for yourself. It's not easy in the beginning but as you get to know more people it gets easier. You have a great set up. Have a great weekend :)

      Thank you for watching and commenting. Yes sir it wasn’t easy leaving that guarantee pay check every week. But life will pass you by if you work your whole life for the man. I enjoy working for my self some days then others I think it would be better to go back to work for the man. Take care and stay safe out there.
