Such a shame…🤦♂️ WG needs to team up with model ship companies so we can see some replicas of these ships. For me, I would really love an 1/96 or a 1/200 scale model ship of the Odin
War gaming do not own any rights or licenses for the real world ships in their games. Many of these are ships that were built between 80 and 100 years ago and the government's that operated them don't exist. I doubt war gaming would be able to claim any legal ownership over the ships
**Even if you gave out a print file WG directly made using the design papers of a real world ship, they have no ownership of the model and possible creations from the model. One can not simply make a 3d computer model of a Abrams tank, then claim they own all abrams tank model copyrights.*** WG has no trademark on the design of ships. WG has no right to stop people from printing their own models. WG got their "ship plans" from the actual people who designed ships, they did nothing but model them inside their own game, which you are not affecting. I would retain a lawyer, share them, and watch WG cry when they find out they have no recourse. WG can not own the design of a ship, they do not even own. How exactly are their 3d printed ship models on every store you would expect to have them, without WG giving permission. They do not own warships, only the game. WG claiming to own ship designs is the same horseshit china does when they made up new "old ancient" maps that claim they own half the globe...
@@HMSVanguard46 exactly, if the design of a ship had a copyright that stopped people recreating it, WG could of never made their toilet bowl games using real life designs.
It's a good and perfectly valid approach. WG would probably not do anything (there are plenty of sites where one can download the ripped gamemodels directly and they haven't gone after those). I personally wouldn't want to do this without permission either, though.
Okay... just my own point of view here. Unless you specifically signed an NDA with Wargaming regarding these models, any 3d pattern you come up with is your own intellectual property. WG can't claim ownership of the ships design, they can only claim ownership over the representation of that design that they came up with. The 3d modeling you do for a visual display isn't anything close to what you need to code a printer... Sounds like WG trying to claim your work as theirs so that they can copyright it, even though they don't have a copyright... It's like doing a parody of a song. You took the original video display wireframe, and then adapted it to a 3d printer. That's the literal definition of sampling. Unless Wargaming is specifically releasing 3d printed plastic models and you have their specific code for the print, then they're trying to compare apples to oranges.
The 3d model they made is theirs, but there is nothing stopping you from printing and selling a model you made yourself. You can often find them on 3d sites as well for a hefty price if you don't want to make the model yourself. Check the license terms if you do that. The camo scheme they made is theirs so long as it wasn't an actual real one. The only other option I see is if someone commissioned a ship from you, because that is a different type of transaction than just having a shop to sell them in. Though I'd still not do that. Just stick to real ships and grab your own models then WG can spin till they turn purple.
Calling them greedy?? What word do you use to describe gov officials and big wigs at Nesle or Texecoco? Find a different word, cause that's definitely the wrong one in this context. Wanting to protect your property is not greed.
Or just ignore them and upload it anyways because they don't have legal leg to stand on. They are just trying to intimidate you and it's on you whether you bow or not.

Some they can claim as many are interpretations

They do however make alterations to the designs..any German BBs AA layout for example or any of the post lion British BBs

Wargaming is a pretty scumbag company. Id just wouldnt screw around with sharing models
Wie viel Harz hast du eigentlich gebraucht zum Beispiel für die Satsuma und wie viel hat dich das gekostet ?
Good for you. Yes, people will take free stuff that is premium, and will then sell them.

Thumbs up for the Bible verse!!! Amen.

They do own the rights to the digital image you see in the game as it had to be created on a PC. It took time and money .
Can you make a manfred von richthofen modell 1/350?
would really love to see you try to create an original design in the style of an Italian Battleship in 1/350
Yeah as greedy as they are and knowing how successful you have been has probably given them the idea to now market their own line of models.

WG sollte mit dir eine Cooperation starten, in dem sie deine Datein im Shop verkauft für einen Obalus von 10 Euro und ihr 50% 50% macht.
Id just build a model and scan it into an stl file. Models from Revell or others out there. Great video
Why steal from Wargaming if you can steal from Revell, amirite?
Or just ignore them and upload it anyways because they don't have legal leg to stand on. They are just trying to intimidate you and it's on you whether you bow or not.
Maybe sponsor wows in a video and promote them and maybe you will have more of a chance of talking to them.
Siempre el negocio por el medio no le basta el pay to win a wargaming
Don't cross WGing bro... half those MF'ers have ties to the FSB. You'd never know what happened to you...
