My step dad, liked Jumbalaya, but my mother has Polish ancestry, and she liked cabbage. We came up with a family recipe that is essentially Jumbalaya, substituting Cabbage for Rice, and adding a few other things that came out very very nice.
I'ma full time cajun and that sounds delicious! My family is cajun French/irish so we would always have smothered cabbage with smoked sausage. Thanks for sharing!

For anyone wondering you dont have to do dry rice, you can use day old rice or cooked rice washed enough to where its not starchy, also im used to shrimp instead of chicken for jambalaya but hes pretty spot on Edit: minus the hot sauce, you usually just use actual hot peppers
