@@annesofiemadsen6216 I'm back from the trip but nonetheless I appreciate that. Best of luck to you on your voyage too, hope the weather is favourable in London
Love this video! One thing that I learned and wanted to share with you is to look for a duffle bag that best fits your luggage and has all the wonderful features a bag can have especially in plane travel use. I'm using Nomad Lane's Bento Bag and it's a good choice!
I love that umbrella, that's going right to the top of my travel shopping list. We've made trips to Lisbon in Portugal and Brussels/Antwerp/Gent in Belgium so far this year. It rained during both trips so the brolly would have come in handy!.
I love bringing my Mind Bodhi Toe Separators which are made of squishy silicone and weigh around 1oz. Perfect travel companion for tired feet that have been scrunched in shoes all day.
I’ve been watching your videos for a long time and love them but I feel something is missing, especially for summer travel - UPF sun protective clothing. Would you please consider including in the future?
I don't know which is more disturbing, Tom in a tropical shirt, or his clean-shaven chin. I can't unsee this. The Topo bag looks as fantastic as Tom's shirt!
over many travels, I found that there is no difference between a week and a month of travel as clothes are washed along the way. would love to see some reccomendations on this aspect of minimalist travel. for myself, I do tend to travel with a lot of "dri fit" clothing - bring one or two pieces into the shower, soap, rinse them out and dry overnight. this way also avoids those dreaded "heavy laundry" days! and because most of them are moisture wicking, they last a few days of moderate use between washing.
Holy s**t you actually do have some clothes in a colour other than black. Long overdue, and makes the videos more engaging as i don't feel like i'm watching something sad and depressing.
Hey Tom, big fan of your site. Love these packing lists and videos! Question; for the GoPro scenario, how are you taking your videos off your memory card? Are you just wireless transferring them to your phone/iPad? I've tried that in the past and always found it takes forever for the high resolution videos that GoPro can take. Makes me want to just bring my laptop honestly
Not sure what you mean by this but if you want to sort our reviewed bags by numerical ratings, you can do that on our website! packhacker.com/travel-gear/category/bags-and-luggage/ - Tom
Great video! Do you have any recommendation for 40L backpack that's less expensive than Topo Designs, but comparable in terms of pockets etc.? $230 is just way over my budget, and I'd need two of those ;) thanks in advance!
I may look into the Bellroy dopp kit. I got 2 Osprey toiletry bags but they seem so big! Some reviews videos are confusing because they don't seem to follow the TSA 311 rule and just show people packing everything in them. Lol
Ah man, you already have your inCharge cables! Jealous! I'm still waiting for my delivery from their KS campaign. I have that same Anker charger and it's the best I have found for the size and quality. I have been eyeballing those Birkie Evos for a while. How do you like them? I pretty much only wear Vivos and Birkies. Hope you all had an amazing trip!
When I read 72 essentials for minimalists I thought ... impressive, but what, wait, minimalism with 72 must-haves? But ok, got it, if you get them all you are automatically a minimalist, at least financially ... 🤣 Joking, of course. Nice list, would love to have all items ... except of that shirt, of course. Hawaiian style doesn't really fit to Asia if you don't want to look like 'Fluffy goes to India' (I love Gabriel Iglesias, btw, but surely don't want to copy his style - I guess I'm generally maybe more the black-T-guy) ... 🤣🤣🤣 Still joking, of course. But here something more serious: umbrellas aren't only for rain, there is also some good reason to have one for UV protection and spending true shadow during the next heatwave in India (or wherever else you are in the full sun). There are special umbrellas for that purpose available, they protect against rains plus give you during sunshine much higher UV protection (SPF50+) than ordinary umbrellas. Maybe you can check out products of the German brand Euroschirm (Eberhard Göbel), they have special models for trekking, some can even be fixed at the rucksack for a handsfree umbrella experience. These trekking umbrellas are all lightweight high quality stuff (teflon coated, carbon and aluminium etc.) and available with that special UV protecting silver coating. I am using their model 'light trek ultra' with extra sun protection since quite a while on all my desert trips and I'm very satisfied with the outcome as well as with the quality of that thing.
The instax pictures are pretty bad. I much prefer a small printer (e.g. HP Sproket, which actually makes stickers, you can directly put it on a postcard or your diary)
We’ve had some great results with our Instax Mini! It’s far from perfect, but we really dig it for certain situations. Thank you for the suggestion; we will look into it 😃 -Eric
Love your videos. Tip: I think your videos, like this one, are too saturated. Your skin tones look like lobster red 😊. Tom looks like his wearing lipstick. Not a big deal, but just in case you are not noticing it yourselves.
