I have several (many?) American Fender Telecasters. I also have 2 Vintage teles and I love them - a V72 thinline (with a fantastic Wilkinson mini humbucker at the neck) and a V62 icon, as in this video. My V62 was the ash blonde relic. I loved the guitar but didn't like the relic finish so I had a go at a DIY refinish and relic in nitro Fiesta Red. Now it's one of my favourite guitars sitting alongside others at 5 to 10 times the price. Vintage brand guitars definitely worth checking out.
My local guitar shop had one of these on the wall for a few weeks and the first time I picked it up I knew I was having it,it really is the bollocks you have to feel on to understand how good they really are Thanks for your review it made me buy one
I just played a V52 Icon at my local music shop today and almost walked out with it. Best feel and playability out of the box of any Strat or Tele in the shop under $1500. Might go get it tomorrow. It felt amazing!
Lovely guitar, I own two Vintages already, just cannot believe how good these guitars are for the money, ti's be said many times Vintage guitars push way beyond their weight, the sound off those pickups are lovely, I see another Vintage in my future , great review ,
Yep I like these as well. Got the V59 and it was the best guitar out of the box I have ever bought. I reckon it's pretty much identical to the 62 except mine's got a maple fret board. I'm neither one way or the other on the relic but I really like the matte finish and I haven't come across a a matte finish without the relic. Good videos!
Just ordered the Vintage V75 Reissue in Laguna Blue. Incredible value for money @ £344 from Richards Guitars. These Vintage guitars maybe at a budget price, but the quality is outstanding. I watched your review of the V72 thinline, that’s a beauty also. Love your videos mate, so down to earth and honest. Keep up the good work 😀👍🏻
Love that!! Looks awesome!. I'd like a guitar like simply because I wouldn't have to baby it lol. My LP and Explorer I tend to baby, but the reason I want a Tele is to mod, refinish and just have it a bit more of a beater lol. That thing sounds great! Love the matt/satin finish too.
The link you have below is not the same guitar.. its got that silly unrealist wear.. how do I get one like this one? I've seen some others in online vids with the same wear as this one but every one of them for sale online has that other silly looking arm wear part...
The arm wear on that looks great, it's different from most I see for sale online which have a way bigger arm wear part that doesnt look realistic... can anyone tell me why this is?? And how can you get one like this one??
Just working my way through your vintage videos. These guitars look incredible. How do they make them so cheap and why do we pay so much for fenders? It has to just be the name, doesn't it?
We had this exact conversation on a video we shot a couple of weeks ago. You pay for the Fender name but they don’t produce the best guitars in their price point at any level
Great guitar I have a V6 relic Boulevard black strat and your right they make you want play them. I play in quite a loud band and would maybe like to add a humbucker in the bridge, but I have heard that the bridge single pick up is much hotter so I may not need to Good video bud...Subscribed!
I've listened to a few reveiws and the matte finish sounds so much better than the poly finish, the relic onea and the Jerry Donahue sounds much better, with the Jerry one being really good. I wish they'd make a matte black new one
Vintage guitars are always a bit dodgy, but if you are prepared to do a bit of work to them, mainly change the electronics, you will pretty much always end up with a great guitar. Pickups are always great, as is the rest of the hardware. Play it first and if you like it, it will be a great guitar.
Had a V62 Icon in blonde. Shocker. Frets needing dressing, tuners weren't so much relic'd, looked like they'd been left out in the garden for 5 years and were rusted and useless. Should have sent it back, stupidly persevered but ended up selling it. Waste of money.
My best friend recieved a reliced guitar from his father after he passed away. My buddy was showing me and he said he love that he got to see all the battle scars that his dad put in the guitar. He like feeling the wear and said he could feel his dad in the guitar. My buddy doesn't play so the guitar will just sit in his bedroon..I hope nobody ever tells him it was a fender road worn telecaster. I personally do not like reliced guitars. They seem like a prop to me.
The relicing looks terribly artificial and obvious. I'm certain that if they sent you this for review, it is not a representative example of those in the wild. I've always disliked Vintage and found them cheap and tacky. I've built about sixty guitars now, and my first few were already better than any Vintage I've picked up.
2:41 I thought you were gonna say 'wow I really need to tune this guitar first!' 😄

Just learned that there is a Vintage stocking dealer less than an hour from me. Can't wait to pay them a visit.

A good one, and another must-have, Mr Pherotone!

Fabulous guitars and sound amazing easy use that at any level
I ordered one of these in the ash blonde color and I am so excited! This video was a part of my decision so just wanted to say thanks : )
Did you get it? How was it?
I love the look of these. I have a spare rosewood fender tele neck. Any idea if it would fit? Cheers
Outstanding!
Nice review. I was looking for video with this exact guitar ... Can't wait to see how it stands when compared with Fender. Thank you
I have a video comparing it to a Fender due out soon. I prefer this to my Fender Player

Great looking tele !

Great video covered everything
That thing looks bad ass!
Cool review, just ordered the same, my guitars are all "pristine " so I wanted something different that sounds good. Thank you.

Yes. Yes I should get one.
Gorgeous.

You mentioned it was sent to you by Wilkinson? Perhaps they cherry picked or made sure it was set up to get a better review.

I have a v100 vintage les paul..and wow it kicks ass😅
Hard to tell what the tone is like with all that reverb!
Which model is this? Is it the icon??
Looks great! Hopefully vintage have upped their QC in recent months….any sharp fret edges?
The fretwork was incredible
not bad, enough for a jamming
With that bridge pickup you sound like Mark Knopfler.
I have this guitar and cannot fault it in any way , so what makes custom shop fender worth 3 grand more 🤷🏻♂️someone please tell me ..
Nice Axe
Slick guitars also

You were very unlucky. I own 3 vintage guitars and the frets seem perfect.

Barely played the guitar clean to let us know how it really sounds. A bad demo..

Sounds fantastic mate.
Got a link so we can see and hear one of them?🤠👍
@@fabulousfreddyisready Afraid not. Never demo'ed them on RUclips. I probably should though.
