Dune and Dune 2 were both beautiful and fantastic. Movies of a scale and epicness that they really don’t make anymore. And I agree, I prefer the films to the book.
The Eras Tour is a fantastic concert. I am a swifty, and saw it in theaters and it was a PARTY. 300 people singing and dancing.
Godzilla minus one was really good too. And incredible how good it looks, considering he small budget.
And finally someone that agrees that Everything, Everywhere at once was not enjoyable.
Napoleon was a trash fire. Ridley Scott is very hit and miss. Why make a historic film that is so factually wrong, it really bugs me. Hollywood has a history of this. I am honestly surprised he didn’t put some Muricans in there to save the day.
Barbie as a cultural event was incredibly wholesome. Wasn’t a huge fan of the film, but then again I don’t think it was aimed at me. But at least it was more entertaining than Oppenheimer, that I fell asleep to 😂
God I missed your videos. You are just so charismatic and entertaining ❤❤❤ Also REALLY love the outfit

Ahh! Yo fellow swifty! Favorite era?? I wish I saw it in theaters but I honestly I’m more excited for the TPD 🤓
Thank you so much for your constant, loving support 💕 💕 I’m so profoundly grateful 🥹 and excited to be on more often!!
((Also going to see Dune 2 again today! 🥳))

I have so many comments about the movies you mentioned. But I want to address Agora. That type of movie is my jam as well. Regarding similar movies depicting that era...well, you need to watch Alexander the Great. The 3 or 4 hour director's cut. It's just so amazing what Alexander accomplished at the time. He was literally conquering and uniting the known world. Had it remained more or less unified, instead of collapsing afterwards with his 4 generals, the world would have been very different. You need to watch Cleopatra. The one with Elizabeth Taylor. The power she wielded. And the tragedy at the end. Omg. Loved it. Next, you need to seek out the History Channel's documentaries on The Barbarians. There's like 8 episodes covering Huns, Vandals, Saxons, Vikings, etc. You name it, they have the barbarian you are looking for. Not only are these documentaries action-packed, they explain so much about how Europe was formed. This is essential viewing. Also, they did an excellent documentary on The Black Death. This had tremendous ramifications on humanity's development. Oh, and women are very well represented in these shows. From the Byzantine Theodora to kick ass women warriors fighting Romans (also see the series Rome:Rise and Fall of an Empire). I know what kind of juicy data you are after Claire. It's that "what if" type history...about Paganism and Druids...and "witches"...and why it was all subsumed by the Christian world. It's in the ones I mentioned. I'll try to think of more. 😉

Oh man, totally forgot about Boudicca. Woman warrior who burnt several Roman cities to ash. Pretty much any movie you can find on her is good. I think I have seen them all. 😆

One more comment. Don't fall in love with history too much. It's an endless rabbit hole where things are way more interesting than you think.😊

Beau Is Afraid was a bad trip.
I miss when movies runtime were shorter.
    I also hated EEAAW!
I heard Saltburn described as a shitty version of The Talented Mr. Ripley.
Ridley Scott has imo been mostly "miss" this millenium.
His movies were so much better, back when he didn't have full control.

I might do a rant video one day on EEAAO and The Last Dual haha! So glad you agree then.
