  • Andy Prieboy (Wall of Voodoo) with Johnette Napolitano (Concrete Blonde)
A young woman contemplates the premature end of her life. Not specified in the song, but the context is clear, it's a parable about the AIDS epidemic which was still a death sentence for most at the time.
Concrete Blonde later released a vastly inferior version on "Bloodletting" the same year.

I very much disagree that Concrete Blonde's version is "vastly inferior"....It's actually quite amazing how they were able to capture the same passion as Andy :)

Music is always subject to interpretation. I must say however, Johnette has such power in her voice, for me the Concrete Blonde version is far superior.

The Concrete Blonde version has a little smoother and more consistent flow it. But this OG is still a fine song with thick emotion in it.
