Found the artist's name on my facebook music shit from like 13 years ago. I'm Turkish. Completely forgot about him, here i am again. Feels great, we are the first generation to get old over the internet. How does it feel?
This a beautiful piece of music and a work of video art. This video has made a lasting impression on me since it first came out. Its brilliant. Thank you lasse gjersten
More than a decade ago, I put the joy of seeing this video for the first time in the depths of the forest of these comments. I visited again today after a long absence. It's still impressive.
quel suono di violoncello che mi vibra dentro....è una droga per me...Sollima è semplicemente straordinario....che onore averlo sentito suonare a pochi centimetri di distanza...
in the description of the video it says: "The forest, river sequence was photographed in a forest in Arona, Italy. I took a picture ca. every five meters, and morphed the images together using WinMorph, matching the pace of the music." hope this helps=)
Sollima dal vivo alle cantine Patria sull'Etna in anfiteatro all'aperto, che spettacolo! la genialita' ...l'ironia.... l'arte...! non lo dimenticherò per il resto della mia vita! GRAZIE !
This is nothing short of magnificent. Hopefully I'll be alive in 10 years so I can watch more of your work. I was more focused through the sequence in the forest than I have ever been in my entire life. Please create more inspiration and beauty. It's your purpose on this planet.
if you have never been on a trippy nature walk then you have n't lived fully in the essence of your soul as a human being. these fractured images also call up not only the experience of such a walk but also the memory of it into fullness within the eye of the mind. very beautiful here and creative. and surprisingly real.
i have watched this video like 1000 times and it is still as beautiful and mezmarizing as the first time i watched it. compliments to lassegg on his work no doubt
I look forward to seeing anything by Lasse Gjertsen. I always know I am going to be amazed by his videos, but they still constantly exceed my expectations! Genius...
There is a lot of knowledge behind these scenes. The best thing of all is that you are sharing your technique with us. I am very thankful for this wonderful gift.
i have met giovanni sollima in my home city palermo, he's one of my dad's collegues in music ! he's an amazing guy and thinking i was studing in the same music school as his when i was young.. what a shame i left it !!!
Wow God has given you an amazing talent. that was a very moving and incredible video. the music was beautiful and you matched the scenes beautifully as well.
oh my.. I remember trying to play this and getting so frustrated. It's been a while since I've hear it and it still makes me want to cry. One of my favorite cellist of all time.
Bravi, bravi! This beautiful music alone stirs the soul, when so skillfully put to images as has been done here one cannot help but feel the soul soar along with the sound.
Why is it when I watched this back in 2007 I thought the video quality was good...? This is the exact same video but the quality feels like it has degraded, which of course is not the case. Crazy how we become accustomed to things.
13 years ago this was my favourite video on youtube! still is! Cheers Lasse!
