I was there at the Concert in Central Park… She was so brave & a trooper to stand out there in that rain, as she guided the crowd out of the park to avoid total mayhem. I also went back the next and had a wonderful experience. I’ve seen her several times, but that Central Park Concert was memorable

I remember this at the time watching it especially the uncomfortable interview before it with Shirley McLain and Mel Smith her treatment of him was disgusting and she should have been booted off just because she was is a Hollywood actress so what you can't just hit people around the head for no reason and Mel was a respected talented funny comedian especially his partnership with Griff Rhys Jones both great comic minds which were considered a younger Two Ronnies back then they were on top of their game and she just smacked him about without a care 😡🤬 have no respect for her and i applaud what Diana said that she wouldn't like it if he turned round and hit her and what she was doing was out of order! 14:50 I remember watching this live on the night. What isnt caught is the interview with Mel Smith BEFORE Diana came out. Shirleys behavior was just as cringe worthy. But I also remember Diana not being afraid to speak up about Shirleys behaviour, despite the cackling crowd. Good on her. Mel may have acted goofy in response but he wasnt in a good position and you can see how the credits roll, he disengages and only turns to talk to Diana.
