I love this woman she is a great actor I loved her in Prisoner I especially loved her in Poor Man's Orange cos it bring back memories for my mum even though she didn't lived there .she lived in the next suburb from there and she used to tell me all about it and I thought this actor done a very good job the whole cast did and I've bought the CD from Poor Man's Orange as well. And I've bought the whole CDs from Prisoner I believe in giving the money to the actors and not getting it for free .😁💙💜💜
This is why many drama type shows I watch are from the UK Australia and even Canada. Its really something to see actors who literally look like people youll pass by on the street. While over here in the USA, almost all the shows, the actors have to be glitz and glam even when it makes no sense. Anyway, I love this show. Just found out about it a month ago and am rewatching the series again. I never knew there was an original Wentworth show. Great stuff!!! I wonder what the Prisoner actors think of Wentworth 2.0.
Strong acting. I never noticed anything wobbly i love prisoner. It was beyond its time. Love this show. I watch then start all over again. Can never get tired of it.
Right?! It seems every interview I see with Prisoner actors and fans: they all talk about "the wobbly sets" but I've never noticed ever?! Was it one particular episode or seems like a Mandela Effect!?😮
You were probably the most connectable person on the show. More most like your average house wife. I have loved all of the episode ... Growing up I wasn't allowed to watch the show but I have now watched the whole series about ten times . Bea was just top dog you were more relatable ... And I have had so so much fun watching and to see you all now out of character is just so much fun xox
Stephen Pearson That's right. Anne played Officer Manson when Erica's niece, Barbara Davidson was there, an inmate called Bernadette in some episodes when Sharon Gilmore was in Wentworth, then later on, also in the 100's era, she played Myra Desmond from then on. 😃
I love all of the work Anne Phelan has done. I was shocked and devastated at her passing. What I find a little disconcerting about this interview is that she seems a little dismissive of prisoner as a show. she speaks about high camp, dodgy sets and over the top storylines. What is missing this interview is that because they were all such great actors, there was real emotion behind storylines. These women and sometimes men, were dealing with real life issues, loneliness, bullying, loss of love, relationships not working out. All kinds of different things. The way that interacted with the staff at the prison made for some very emotional storyline. Especially when it came to Vera and her relationship with the women. I believe that that is one of the strongest enduring factors of this TV show. the humanity of it. I wept when Vera left.. it was such a poignant moment, beautifully shot. I saw Anne one day in Melbourne while she was windowshopping. I wish I had of had the courage to walk up to her and tell her how much I admired her.
I believe Anne died earlier this year. rest in peace,Anne you will never be forgotten. I have said before we look at the show as a cult but to the women it was just the job. Anne looked good at the 40th.
@Rob23 thanks for the heads-up. I did get a Newsfeed regarding Betty Bobbitt's death. I think it came from a fan club. like all pcbh fans it really shook me. we lost three this year actually Anne , Joy Westmore just recently and now Jude. Such hard losses to take.
spectrumlocalb191 I have to really sadly disagree. Looking at Wentworth, for instance as an example of a prison now, and the much meaner and tougher inmates compared with those in Prisoner.
Wentworth is just a cheap copy because these days they can't come up with anything original so they just rehash programmes from the past. Same with films they just to remakes, sequels and prequels or the same film number 2, 3, 4 like the fast and furious and the comic book superhero films. They can't make great films like they used to
@@cutekanjii I did read an article a few years back and a Hollywood insider said it’s the film companies that don’t want to risk losing money on a new film that’s original - in case it’s not popular, so they put their money into previously popular franchises & do remakes or number 2,3,4 etc. So wrong !!!😔
RIP one of my favorite Prisoner characters.

David Dodd mine too - and along with Bea was One of the best top dogs

Anne Phelan was brilliant.
I've been watching prisoner lately and noticed Ann Phelan played a prison officer in a couple of early episodes !!!!
she played 3 different characters in the soap
Stephen Pearson no she didn't mate she played a simple prisoner in a couple of earlier episodes, but she didn't play a screw

Of all the Prisoner actresses, she seems the one I'd most want to go for a pint with. Awesome lady.
Calum Murray I would have liked to meet Meg.
Calum Murray she was I met her a few times
Aaaah....glad to hear she didn't disappoint Matthew.
Anne in this interview gave a real inside look from an actors point of view, full of insight. Interesting. She was one of Prisoners greats.
Love Anne!

YOU KNOW SOMETHING THIS SHOW IS REALLY NOT DATED WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT IT. PRISONS ARE PRISONS.
spectrumlocalb191 I have to really sadly disagree. Looking at Wentworth, for instance as an example of a prison now, and the much meaner and tougher inmates compared with those in Prisoner.
I didn’t know she had passed away ☹️
I’m sorry miss you too
He is gorgeous as hell
yea he is
My second best Top Dog cant beat Queen Bea then number 3 Rita the Beater
Best top dog and Frank Burke was best baddie.
Strange they won't pay viewer favorite actors more money to keep the viewers happy and watching ?
I WONDER DO THEY GET RESIDUALS WHEN ITS BEING REPLAYED ALL OVER THE WORLD.
They supposedly get something when it’s repeated on a third occasion but I don’t think it’s very much.
Prisoner: Cell Block H - Far superior to ‘Wentworth’. What the hell were they thinking using the same character names?? 😡

Is she a lesbian?
