At Worship Vocalist, we’re really focused on one thing-learning how to worship God in a way that pleases him. Specifically, we talk a lot about how to do that as singers and vocalists-we talk about vocal technique and how to develop the instrument we have… but always unto using our voice to worship God! This is exactly what I needed to hear. I have been wanting to join the worship team for over 15 years but I always let fear prevent me. Lately, I felt God give me the courage, the strength, the desire to go for it! I joined our church choir in April and my worship leader wants to meet with me this Wednesday to hear me sing to be part of the worship team. My husband is already on the worship team singing and playing various instruments and this would be a dream come true for me to serve on the worship team with him. The tricky part is I am new to singing and that is where the fear kicks in. Thank you for your encouraging words! I am learning that what I have to offer will always be good enough for God!!!!

Wow, thank you so much! Just yesterday, after service, I stepped out in faith and asked my worship leader if we could work towards adding me to the vocal team, even though it frightens me! I primarily play bass, and its easy to hang out in the back, but Ive been feeling the Lord push me to sing. So thank you for this encouragement, I really needed it!

Thanks for this encouraging message. I'm a worship leader at my church but I guess I always think that's just because we're a tiny team and we don't have a million options. I don't have a huge voice so I sometimes wonder if I'm really meant to be doing this, as I'm sure there are better singers in the congregation. But I serve anyway and will keep doing so as long as I'm needed. Recently I've been learning to step out a little more and be more bold. But I worry about being a distraction if I don't stick to the song exactly as it's written.
I'm trying not to worry about things going 'wrong'. I'm hoping if I'm singing God's praise, focused on exalting His name and pouring out my love for him and encouraging others to do the same that it will be okay. Thanks for encouraging me that I'm enough, and that I'm not limiting God in any way. God bless you sis xx

Thank you. I needed to hear this. Our praise and worship team is small and as a leader I get anxious when 1 or 2 members are out. I'm thankful God can take what we offer to him even when small and anoint it to minister to others and that's what it's all about.

I'm thankful to have seen this. Sometimes I get really down in my ability, I can get wrapped up in the comparison game..I hate my voice, I lead from keys , and sometimes I just get into my head. Worship ministry used to be a great passion of mine, it still is in some ways, but it's become more of a call to obedience.
Glad it encouraged you today - yes, comparison is a tool of the enemy to make us feel discouraged. I encourage you to spend time with the Lord asking Him to speak over you! He loves your voice and loves when we worship Him!

Thanks for sharing and encouragement for those that sing and lead worship in front of people whatever talents you have God knows your heart and don't worry so much about your abilities of playing to perfection. Just rely what God can do and let the Holy spirt lead and guide us throughout the whole journey. How Jesus fed the crowds of people even with the limited food supplies they have in store. For He is Jehovah Jireh our God who provides and supplies all our needs.

I was just sitting down to eat breakfast and thought I don't know anything about music but I love to sing. I learned surrender my voice to God. He's given me the verse in Philippians that says he gives me the desire and the power to do what pleases him. ❤

Thank you Charmaine! Tomorrow night I audition for the worship band at church. I haven't used my voice in many years and actually thought I had lost my ability to sing. I never realized that it was only because of lack of use until I heard you talk about it on RUclips!
When I was a young girl, I wanted to be a gospel singer more than anything, but as years went by and I fell away from The Lord, I forgot that dream.
Over the last year, I've found my way back to His fold and have also brought my husband and daughter along. They encouraged me to audition, and then I found you! Of the 3 solos that I must do, you have tutorials for two of them!
