    Used to struggle with mixing my passages notes consistently, but I’ve been practicing my singing more lately, and I feel a sensation of freedom in my voice! It’s beautiful.

    Such a great video Charmaine. I have been consistently training my mix voice for many many years and still learn something new about my voice every time I train it. What a complex but wonderful human instrument God has Blessed us all with. Keep up the great work. Absolutely love your content. God Bless🙏😊

    Thank you for this video! This is the first time I'm hearing about the pharyngeal exercise! I definitely have a small range, I hate the difference in strength when I switch to headvoice. It's so weak. Hope I can learn how to do mix voice and be able to sing higher songs someday!

    Great tutorial, thank you! What`s the name of the song you take as example?

    • @worshipvocalist
      @worshipvocalist  6 месяцев назад +1

      There are two different songs I use as examples in this video:
      All Hail King Jesus (by Ran Jackson, Peter Mattis, Jeremy Riddle, Steffany Gretzinger)
      Battle Belongs (by Brian Johnson, Phil Wickham)

    That was very clear thank you. The "indy voice" makes a bug the feature and does that yodeling thing. It's getting old.

    My vocal coach says I do the mix naturally. It's hard to get into my head voice, I can do it but it takes a moment to mentally get there. My chest voice is quite strong and I have a 3 octave range but my vocal coach said that about my mix and I was like what even is that?!

    Is this like “improper belting”?

    • @worshipvocalist
      @worshipvocalist  2 месяца назад

      Hey Shana! Some coaches use the term "belting" interchangeably for "singing in the mix" or achieving those higher notes in a chest-voice-like sound. I prefer the term "mix voice" for our videos because we're focused on healthy cord compression and closure, not in achieving the "scream" or edge that some belting techniques try to develop. 😊

    Great vid! I find when I'm at church and singing along with the worship I find that my throat gets scratchy not long after or a feeling like a breadcrumb gets stuck there and I start coughing. Is it because of the key they are in? I know they sing a lot in "C" which I find difficult other than a select few songs. My key is definitely "G" or "A" and sometimes "B", but my go to key is "A".

    • @worshipvocalist
      @worshipvocalist  Год назад

      Glad you enjoyed it! It sounds like perhaps you are pushing on your voice too much to get to the higher notes. Yes, it is important to sing in the best key for you, but if someone else is choosing the keys, that's not always possible of course! Perhaps you could sing down the octave, or sing a harmony part!

    Can you tell me if mixed voice is the real voice?

    • @worshipvocalist
      @worshipvocalist  Год назад

      It depends on how one would define "real voice". What we want is for our singing voice to be as authentic to our speaking voice as possible - to use vocal qualities (resonance) that are inherent in our speaking voice. For many people, developing a mix voice does sound like their speaking voice!

    • @worshipvocalist

      Yep, the typical male/female ranges are just a guideline-some female voices land lower where a typical male range is!
