Youve got to Admire the Dedication of these guys.
A couple of my mates are well into the Banger scene & have tried many times to get me out of the Hot Rod and into one, But my Balls aren't big enough Lol.
    Fair play to them.

I also thought that making a banger was like ripping all the seats out and windshields and other glass like lights.
At least i remembet banger race like the way i described.

I liked the carb action and the old fashioned timing strobe. How long does a lump last in banger racing these days.I have seen them fry and go bang many times back in the day.The difference seems to now be all the strengh put into the front end.And when I used to watch the radiator was strapped into the back with long hoses and invariably the lump just got too hot.I have seen engines pushed up at crazy angles on a hard corner hit and game over.Hednesford Hills in the 80's and 90's.Mk 1 and 2 Grannies and Jags ruled those days.

If you didn't set it up on rolling Road nowadays you would be off the pace with rest of cars but think it does take the point out of banger racing but can on the other hand see why it is done now

What is that engine you use? I assume you can't use the stock motor due to all the electrical garbage they need
The only racing I ever saw was grass-track & then it was the end of the Ford Anglias, Triumph Heralds and the like. Mate of mine liked Alfasuds for some unknown reason. Cars being used then used to rot like crazy in their road life. I never say anyone use steam tanks as the racing was non-contact. Stick a big radiator + fans in the front passenger side
It doesn't matter what sort of car you use. There will always be someone bitching about 'destroying a classic'. But that Jag was f**ked due to the rot.
You ever see MrFixit with a 1932 Hillman? Like a house-cat in with a pride of lions.

Great vids, but that's not a banger. It's a tank. Bangers are way over built these days.

I dont know how the prep has changed now but in the 80,s and 90,' there were"bangers" and " bombers" The main change is the strengh you have to put in the front end now to race which is why typically all you see now is massive rear end damage but very little front/engine damage.Loved the sport but its all about jacking up trains now. Also few rear wheel big engined cars left these days .Its never been a cheap game though.

@@glennpowell3444 Agreed. Just a shame that national bangers means ironed up cars with £1k tyres and performance engines. That's not bangers. The water tanks and plates used now are only there for strengthening, like you say the front end damage is minimal. I prefer the historic stock cars now,.
