Very creative David. I liked the way you made improvements as your project progressed. I live in Upstate NY and am cruising RUclips for ideas to make my own fish feeder. Thanks for sharing. Fred
What a great idea thank you... When I build my own I believe that I will use a much smaller "drive wheel" on the motor and a larger wheel on the spring auger so I can eliminate the 4 sec black box and just use the 1 min. timer. Thank You so much you have an excellent feeder
I used 2 pieces of 110mm pvc pipe with each a reducer of 110/40mm - these two parts are slotted into one another with a 40mm washer linear solenoid arm in the middle to close and open 40mm holes. Think of it like 2 cones stacked if one hole open the other closes.
Hi thanks for the video. Is there anyway you could attach a diagram of the whole control circuit of this feeder please? Also what is the yellow board that you attached the circuit on called? Kind
Hey David, whats the voltage you're running through the "switch" side of the timer? I'm trying to do something similar - power the unit with 220v, but the unit I'm trying to control/time/switch is 12VDC.
question. your final product I noticed the motor turns so much slower.and the big wheel does too..so are u now using a motor controller circuit..how did u get the motor to turn slower. to the previous very fast speed before your final mod
Also the next time you are doing a project try out AliExpress.com i prefer the App but it all whole sale electronic items imported from china straight to your door I've used them many times in the past. Strongly recommend giving them a quick look around before starting your next project.
No need for wiring Diagram if you just use one of these Din Rail TM-630S timers. They are already 12VDC (They have a few different voltage options). You can set them from 1 second to hours. There is a power side and motor side the switch and jumper are internal. This $6 timer take care of mostly all the wiring. www.aliexpress.com/item/32956262816.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.2f753c00Qww6Mu&mp=1

Hey David, I realize this was a year ago so I don't now if you will respond. I'm trying to keep the neighborhood cats out of my boat. I cant cover it, long story. Anyway I am building a PVC shower stand that consists of a 5 gallon bucket of water with a marine bilge pump submerged in it. I need to cycle the 12 volt DC pump on for a bot 10/15 seconds once an hour. I like your set up, good job. Do you think it would work for my application? All responses are welcome. Thanks in advance guys... Dave
Cool, but you could have used a simple 555 as a timer that gives you the 4 seconds. 25 cents instead of 8$. Many ways to skin a cat. By the way, be careful with those timers, if the power goes out and comes back on they sometimes go to the ON mode and stay on till the program goes to the OFF time.

Then you can use the backup batter to power the timer.
Great Idea that you have used the feeder mechanism... Also you are very creative that you have constructed using the simple pipe fittings. Congrats!

Very cool, have been thinking about designing something like this for my system. Thanks for the ideas!
I am relocating my family to Mars. We need you in our crew. RSVP asap!
Brilliant!

Super cool - love the hardcore DIY of this!
Hello David! Do you think you can come up with a quick wiring diagram for this project? Thanks a lot for the awesome idea brother.
Very cool! Great job on the build & video!

Sorry, I hadn't read your previous reply. Got it now, thanks

Awesome job I'll have to try it on my fish tanks!
nice work.and very neat and solid..
Yes, a wiring diagram would be very helpful. I have the components, but it is hard to
see how you have connected the wires. Please give us a diagram.
Hey. Your project is still working, have you made changes?
David....any chance of getting a ‘pictorial drawing of the wiring setup.
Thanks. Phil
great video, but just can not figure out which wire goes where!
Amazing job! I will try to do one myself.
Great video and very inventive.

Wiring pictorial setup...for us non electrical wizards ?? Thanks David
Hi! can you provide a block diagram or wiring connection guide on this project?
Good Design. Appreciate it.
Thanks for sharing.
Best wishes for this New Year 2015 Mr. David!
Where did you get the box and what is it made from?
Great detail on description !! Thanks
This is very informative,THANKS
Do you know how to change time format from 24 hours to 12 hours?
You long press the clock button for like three to five seconds.
great video! how did you make the coil?
Great imagination! Thanks for posting.
Bom. gostei. Parabéns pela iniciativa.
How many RPM's is the motor that you are using?
Nice work and perfect
Awesome video, thank you! I was wondering if you had a diagram of the timer set up that you could email? If so, that would be awesome! Thanks

A wiring diagram would be useful, As I don't really understand how everything connects. Sorry to be so dumb
Very nice
Hi David...Can you please share the wiring diagram?
What is the voltage of the output signal from the timer
very interesting. good job man! in my case, ants will be an issue :(
