If nothing else, this video is an excellent demonstration of the difference between "knows how to play, fails anyway," and "doesn't know how to play, fails," and the difference is that only the first one is actually fucking funny.
@@Ryvaken Stereotypes usually have some basis in reality, just another pretty liberal with no personality. Who would have guessed, bet she'd love to live in California too and thinks socialism is great
Everyone: Geoff: "AH is being run at the very best it possibly can be, no one on Earth can manage AH better than it is now" ALSO AH: *just throws Fiona in a game without ever telling her how to play*
No idea why they're trying so hard to bring her into the fold. They're investing so much time and effort into her, and she seems to bring nothing at all to the table. Not skill, not fun, not humor...what is she, a diversity hire?
But isn't that way their so beloved? Because we watched some hilarious people doing stupid things in stupid games? AH isn't like many of the other channels, which just show how awesome someone is at some game, It's about laughing at and with a bunch of people who say and do some dumb, things, while (usually) not taking the game their playing to seriously. That's why I think Fiona is perfect for AH. She sucks at games, her mistakes are humorous without it being mean spirited to laugh at, and frankly I can't wait until she's the victim of shenanigans. (also where talking about a game where worms are using explosives, weird vehicles, and other such obscure weaponry. So yah it's a pretty stupid game, in the best sense of the word)
DeepIn Thought but she is missing the enjoyable personality that meshes with all of it. And there is a difference between not knowing how to play the game and not knowing how to game at all. It seems like she is lost at all possible times and can’t pick up a thing in any game. Her personality just doesnt seem good or engaged or trying to make good content.
Think I'm just gonna black the few videos with Fiona out of my memory and pretend that AH just skipped a week of videos, GTA was kinda bad even with 4 people doing their best to make it entertaining and Jack contributing a bit before activating bitch at the audience for not liking me mode, not gonna subject myself to 4 more videos.
I've said it before on other videos, but Matt has had such a great transformation. Ever since I watched the Pleasures of Cooking with Link video I was in love. Besides Ryan, he is undoubtedly my favorite AH member. Good on you, Matt Bragg!
@@ratbastard6327 mans been there for 5ish years and after years of feeler videos hes staring. Fiona let's fire a person with almost no game skill and make her the headline lol good luck
@@1992bomberman even Jeremy that was the biggest fan of AH (before starting to work with them), admits that he doesn't know of any videos he inst on anymore.
@@army6669990101 He DID know though. It makes sense that he doesn't follow it much anymore since he literally works for the company and is in most videos. You would think Fiona might have had even an inkling of an idea of games in some of AH's most famous series'.
army6669990101 but he was a fan beforehand, that’s the difference. He KNEW of their content and what they did beforehand. Sure now as a main cast, if he doesn’t know something cause of not being in the video, that’s fine. He’s busy doing other shit, and the guys in the video will fill him in later through off topic or whatnot
Man Achievement Hunter really doesn't know how to add new people. I don't dislike Fiona but at no point have I wanted her to appear in a video because she's artificially forced into so many
I was fine with Jeremy and Matt for whatever reason, but Trevor and Alfredo took some getting used to. That being said, it felt more like a trickle for them in videos whereas they are literally forcing Fiona into every video they can at this point. My question is 'why'? What reason do they have for pushing her in these videos so much? She should have time to acclimate to the environment and work behind-the-scenes and fill in for someone when they need another hand. She has a job other than being an entertainer regardless. I guarantee that people would learn to love her more as a member of the team if she got cameos like she was getting before joining the company.
@@Doom_Hawk I can't speak on Trev, Alfredo or Fiona, but it's possible your were fine with Jeremy and Matt because they were contributors to the community channel. I'd say it's a lot easier to assimilate and contribute naturally when you understand the group and their content.
strangely, I have come to dislike Trevor and Alfredo (who I previously enjoyed) more over the past 6 months, while I have finally come around to Matt@@Doom_Hawk
Oof. I think throwing someone into videos without the audience warming up to them is a bad choice by Trevor. Look at Alfredo, plays shooters, warms him up to the audience with shooter games. Jeremy is good at everything but is great at building in minecraft. Warms up to the audience with Let's Builds. Have her warm up to the audience through games she is good at. I get if someone was good at comedy but sucked at games they would just be an all rounder. Like Michael isn't the best gamer, but he can hold up a conversation and keep it funny. So pick a genre she is good at and put her in those videos.
Idk, I think every has a genre we just don't know her's. I am great at rpgs, I suck major dick at everything else. I have invested nearly 2 decades into them.
Honestly I don't even try to watch daily anymore. Maybe once every 3 or 4 days I'll skim through and watch a few (or try to depending on the cast). It's not only Fiona for me, I just don't get interested in a lot of the stuff they've been putting out recently. I was into 7 days and golf and worms, which were all pretty much weekly videos for a while. Now most of the content seems to be a plug for whatever AAA game they were sent pre-release or "Mario Kart/Party #300: maybe something different happens this time" But that's just me. Recycled GTA ideas and the podcasts are really the only content I can consistently tolerate anymore. Bums me out.
Okay. normally, I like to keep negativity to myself. The whole "if you don't like the video then don't watch it" thing. But "Fiona Week" has been... bad. Not just because she doesn't know the games, and not because she doesn't know Achievement Hunter's past. Though granted, both of those are valid point, to an extent. For me, it's because she does not seem like she's having fun. Listen to 20:09 and tell me if that sounds like someone enjoying themselves, or if it sounds like Ray, right before he left. Compare that to Jack blowing up in Cops'n'Crooks. ruclips.net/video/-SHWm1qkJYk/видео.html I've noticed that when she's lagging behind, and everyone's trying to keep the energy up, she just gets mad. And not Achievement Hunter's mad-but-still-funny, it comes across as whiny, don't-really-want-to-be-here mad.
I mean. I get what you're saying, at times it seems like shes not enjoying herself at all. But once again, shes a new member who is getting put through the ringer by half of the fanbase. And once again, I'm certain things will smooth out for her, and people will settle down. Jeremy and Ryan both got this kind of focused negativity as well, for those who remember back to when they started. To be honest though, I'm starting to believe that this fanbase just has a hate on for women in AH. Mica got shit on harder then Jeremy ever did, and Lindsay gets negative comments literally every video even though shes pretty funny, and now Fiona. What a circus.
@@markwilliams3360 I can't speak for everyone but Fiona is the only hire that I've genuinely hated. Lindsey and Matt just annoyed me until I warmed up to them and Ryan and Jeremy I welcome wholeheartedly. Micah was alright. That's about all I can say about that. But Lindsey I find genuinely funny in her fuck ups. She understands she's not the best. She rolls with it. That's the thing I love about AH. Even when they screw up or suck, they roll with it and don't bitch constantly and blame the game or not knowing. They own it and make funny content. In every video up till this point Fiona has bitched and complained in every single one.
Michael Campbell I also grew to like Lindsey overnight. She’s actually really funny and enjoys the game despite being bad. So she easily broke the “sexist” argument. But the girl in this video is...not something I can appreciate.
I like the classic games, and I don't mind Lindsey or people who aren't great at a game...but Fiona gives serious "I don't like this I don't want to play" vibes. But then again, she IS playing, so maybe she'll grow on me.
So far she hasn't added much really entertaining or clever commentary, but it's possible that she just needs to adjust. I will say that she seems more comfortable with the other members now, so it's a start.
I get it, but I don’t like playing games with my friends when they aren’t interested, and I get those passive vibes from her. Hopefully she learns and likes them or gets along better. If not, maybe find something different in the company for her. Still needs time to adjust like you said though. Just want to point out if they ever see this - I don’t find cluelessness and disinterest fun, even though I like her personality otherwise.
It sucks because I actually think Lindsay is hilarious and Fiona seems really cool and down to earth or whatever, but speaking as a female-how/why has AH never hired a female talent that can play games not even like a pro, but with a basic af understanding? It seems like they pick the most clueless women who can’t even comprehend basic game controls
She played lots of Overwatch, she's good at Tetris, and likes Persona. Her problem is that the games she's played have basically no overlap with AH games
@@macasaurusrex4863 It would help, if she at least knew the games. She didn't have to know how to play, just saw the videos. I have never played a worms game, but i know i once i learned the controls, i would be 10x better than fiona, and still provide some comedy.
@@macasaurusrex4863 you would think that, but when has anything that has the Geoff stamp of "i have an idea" been anything but sprung on everyone out of nowhere? And even if everyone agrees it's a bad idea, he does it anyway.
Worms is definitely one of the games she should get a few practice rounds in. Going into a game blind that has a lot of items, crafting and against people who've played it before is just plain stupid.
She did better than Gavin did? Just because he survived longer doesn't mean shit she got obliterated by Matt how could she even do anything if anything from watching it after playing for like 20 minutes she actually had a grasp on the game unlike the people who have been playing Worms for years. It isn't all about her being good. Achievement Hunter has never been good, the difference is you're not used to Fiona and you're whining about it. Literally everybody else did horrible shit and nobody calls them on it just stop complaining about her not knowing how to play. They clearly don't care about teaching her how to play so if you want to enjoy the videos suspend that way of thinking and just relax and enjoy it.
A polite critique--even though I know they don't read the comments. They're handling Fiona's introduction completely wrong. It really doesn't feel like she's developed any genuine chemistry with the AH crew yet, and probably all the videos this week are gonna suffer for it. Most of the video was Geoff, Gavin, Jeremy and Matt playing off of each other getting the occasional giggle from Fiona in the background. She seems genuinely inexperienced with this sort of content, because it's not just a podcast like Always Open. She's trying to focus too hard on the game and talking at the same time, and it's hurting her overall performance. "The man who chases two rabbits catches neither." I do think Fiona's got potential, I welcome more female representation in AH and another voice in the bullpen. She just hasn't found her "voice" yet. -Lindsay developed from the bad gamer into the "If I'm gonna lose, I'm gonna burn as many of you fuckers as I can on the way down." She also brings some genuinely funny conversations or side comments to the table. -Alfredo developed from the shooter guy to pretty much the literal chaotic neutral of the gang, with some very interesting voice work. See: "Messing with Jacksquatch." -Jeremy developed from the guy who builds things into, honestly, a much more engaged and funny version of Ray. Unlike Ray, who would either literally fall asleep or just putz about idly when he got bored, Jeremy keeps things interesting and entertains himself. His voicework is also hilarious half the time. -Matt has somehow developed into the "heel" of the AH crew. His maps are still fun to watch and he's still one of the primary builders, but it's also funny to watch everyone gang up on him and he still somehow can manage to pull out a victory. -Hell even Ryan was pretty mild at first, but we all know how he turned out, becoming the Mad King and the quintessential Chaotic Evil of AH. I just don't think Fiona's had that time to grow on us yet and develop into her own Achievement Hunter, and this isn't the way to do it. It's like trying to force a friendship. You're only gonna piss the other person off if you constantly keep trying to talk to them and hang out with them. It needs to happen organically over time.
This does indeed feel forced. I'm pretty sure they don't read youtube comments, but this is a pretty good genuine critique. Another thing is that I feel they are being very careful around her, not hazing her like the other members had. I felt like in this video they were specifically not targeting her sometimes, because they would make her feel bad or smth (which tbh happens a lot with Fiona). So, good comment, probably won't be seen, I agree, the world doesn't care and won't change any bit. I hope, nonetheless, that you have a good day!
Hey, Trevor? Or whoever? Watching someone learn to play a game isn't entertaining. Watching them struggle to remember can be, if the person has that AH charm, but learning? Generally just frustrating. Having a new team member's first exposure to a game be in a recording is a great way to ensure the fanbase will hate them. You don't want that, we don't want that. Just...like, assign them some homework: "before this video, you need to play through the game's tutorial and first level. You don't have to be any good at it, but the fans will rip you a new one if you're both new *and* have no idea how to play. You can only get away with one of those things, unfortunately, not both."
You and everybody else need to stop speaking for the entire fanbase like you're our spokesperson. I've seen several comments about Fiona and guess how many people support them like hundreds. Now guess the portion of the fanbase that love her and don't care about her learning games. A lot fucking more. If you didn't enjoy the video don't watch the video or dislike it or whatever but don't try to speak for a fanbase that has many different opinions not just one.
@@VideoShogun Did I say I didn't support Fiona? I'm looking at the trend. A trend that was set by Lindsay and stayed true now with Fiona. I'm looking at how that trend didn't apply to Alfredo. I'm looking at previous comments in videos with the main/OG cast. I'm looking at what was different, and what's the same. I'm making a best-guess of what's going on, and I'm making my thoughts known, tossing them out into the well of noise that is the youtube comment section. Yes, 80% of the noise is made by 20% of the community. But I READ the comments. scrolled through 4 pages of them before I made my own comment. I read exactly 0 comments saying nice things about Fiona. Or even polite things about her. This isn't a case of 80% of the noise. It's 100% of the noise. And there's nothing BUT noise. My comment, then, was intended to be a polite and constructive criticism of how Achievement Hunter operates, because I personally hate that noise. I don't want to read a comments section full of people saying "X SUCKS" "I WANT TO RIP MY EYES OUT" "FIRE HER ALREADY" and shit like that. I'm not trying to drag anyone down, I'm trying to build them up. Because like everyone else, I'm a critic at heart; out to fix the flaws in the media I love. But at no point did I claim to speak for everyone else in the comments section, let alone the fanbase. I explained the trend as I understood it, and offered a solution I thought would help. Hate me if you must, but I'm trying to be helpful here.
Why do we get a week of her learning basic mechanics and controls? She landed a dream job with no interest in gaming, couldn't even be bothered to do a little research and practise the games AH are known for. It's pretty depressing.
If one of these videos was a blind run of the newest Destiny 2 raid, I'd consider these videos a suitable sacrifice for the amount of entertainment that would bring!
I know and that's why I miss Lindsay, yeah she's not the best at games but she does try and is actually funny. Plus Lindsay doesn't blame the game for her not being good at it unlike Fiona who blames everything else but herself.
It's undeniable at this point that this is nothing more than a day job for Fiona. She has no interest in the games, and seemingly doesn't even want to be there, given that just about every time she speaks it's to complain about _something._ And if she isn't having fun then she just completely tunes out, and doesn't even bother trying to be entertaining.
@@iKamikahzi Wow, it's... it's almost as if gamers that blame the game for what happens _exist_ and _still count_ as gamers. Or, I don't know, people that jump into games after months of not playing them, not looking at their control scheme before they hit "record," and go "son of a bitch" when something they didn't mean to happen happens. Or people that don't pay attention to the prompts and audible directions the game gives them and run around for 15 minutes saying the _game_ is bad at letting them know what the hell to do next, still get people correcting them in the comment sections years after it's been established that it's not like they're going to take down the video, redo it with that knowledge, and then repost it. Boy-howdy, it's a good thing none of that's real, could you fuckin' imagine? /s
@@5ivess. pretty much. it's kinda sad really. i'd like to see her playing something she's actively passionate about. Michael and Gavin have Play Pals, Ryan and Jeremy have Battle Buddies, there's a whole "Let's Watch" thing they could do where they throw her in front and have her do Hitman or an RPG she's played before...
PeterWDawson not saying you’re wrong, but I find it hard to believe she plays overwatch after watching her play in the borderlands 2 stream a few months back
@Jim Audsley At least with Lindsay, she knows how to play, she's just really bad at it. It's borderline insulting for someone to get this awesome job and not take the time to sit down and learn to play the games they play on a regularly basis. I'm not asking her to be good at them but to at least know the concept and controls to an extent.
You realize your comment is misinformed and trolley as hell right? I agree Fiona has been cringey in videos but this was not one of them. If it's not funny it's painful why the fuck are you watching the entire video? You're full of crap if you think it was painful to watch and actually kept watching it. If I experience pain I want that pain to stop not just keep suffering. I was laughing my ass off the entire video because Fiona being bad at games didn't really come up she's never played worms she asked legitimate questions, learned from them, and moved on. She then got 3 of her worms massacred by Matt so she didn't get to keep playing and honing her skills. Once again quoting Achievement Hunter if you want to watch someone be good at games you're watching the wrong channel.
@@VideoShogun But not one is asking or expecting her to be good. We just want her to be familiar somewhat with the games that they play. They've played Worms countless times now, how does a personality who is supposed to be one of their in-game/on-air talents not think, "Hm... that's probably something I should get familiar with." Alfredo came into Minecraft not knowing how to play and his mindset was, "Hey, let me learn how to play this" and it is actually fun and entertaining seeing him get excited about learn the game because the first time he turned on the game ever didn't appear to be in a video. He knew the basic controls and was able to be somewhat competent and didn't need someone holding his hand the entire time.
cause they're throwing her into games she's never played before and has no idea what she's doing for them. it's not _entirely_ her fault, we all have things we do, and dont do, and then things we have no idea what the hell that is, but they're putting her in front of a game she has no experience in, with the silent demand of "be funny" and its just...not even Lindsay chaos. it's sad cause i'd like to see what she's _good_ at, something she's knowledged in. Like Michael got the whole of RE2 Remake and the whole thing was him talking about the differences between the original and the new one and genuine surprises and it was entertaining not just cause of the game but because he was well interested in it. We need something like that, but for Fiona.
@@Xenmaru00 I understand were you are coming from but I feel like her problems run deeper than being bad. I mean Gavin litterly kills himself every time he plays this game and someone else ran a car into the water but they were funny. It is ok to not have experience in something but you need to remember your job of being an entertaining person
That first 30 secs is entirely what's wrong with the fiona situation, I don't care about her personality, I don't care about her skill level. Why are you bringing her on and dangling her in front of us when she has seemingly no idea about achievement hunter, and this whataboutism with Lil J, I guess you guys don't know your history either but one of the first let's play with Lil j, minecraft 173, he didn't get anywhere near the backlash fiona is getting, because he did his time, he knows the history, he earned his spot, he was part of the community, he was a FAN. Now they're just throwing fiona to the wolves, I don't blame fiona, I blame whoever decided to put her here
@@InsanoRider777 wow, good job for assuming I'm not a first member, that I've gone to RTX, or that I've been a rooster teeth fan since the first season of RvB, cause guess what, I do, I have, and I've always been. I don't like their mobile platform, so I watch them here on RUclips with my RUclips red account, looks like I'm supporting them twice as much as you, while you're trying to lord over "RUclips pussies" with what I'm assuming is just a first membership, might need to recheck your life priorities dude.
You're completely right. It's like a comedian is completely stripped of their material by a show-runner and given all-new material to work with 5 minutes before they're up on the stage instead of just hiring a comedian who does know this provided material. It's like they expect us to get stockholm syndrome for her
I have to agree, I mean look at Alfredo. We were introduced to him primarily through siege and destiny and pubg, which are all things in his wheelhouse, then they put him into stuff he might not be so good at (gta anyone)but by that point we had seen him at his best so we could forgive him for his worst. With Fiona they are just throwing her into everything in the hopes that we just except her.
So does this mean anyone can be hired by AH and immediately be in videos? No, but for real. I've been trying so so hard to enjoy Fiona, and sadly I still can't. Please give her a chance to be liked by people. Assign her to practice your classics or something cause she's obviously isn't gonna bother on her own. I honestly can't see why they hired her. She's extremely negative and rude to everyone. She blames the game besides blaming herself, and it isn't even in a funny way. She sounds dead in all the videos she's in. From what I've seen she knows nothing about AH or the content, and yea that might not be required, but then why are you working there? Just cause it's a job? I personally think you should understand the basics of the company before you go through an interview to work there. I just can't respect her, and to me she doesn't deserve to be there. There are FAR more talented and funny women who deserve to be there. Fiona isn't the one. You should've maybe looked harder instead of picking up a random child. If they insist on keeping her so be it, just please let her be in shit she's good at or at least teach her how to play before you record. I can't find her funny if she's constantly complaining and whining, so at least make her gameplay a bit more enjoyable. I don't dislike her cause she's a woman cause I am a woman as well, so don't give me that BS
"I don't dislike her cause she's a woman cause I am a woman as well, so don't give me that BS" Sorry, that's not how this works. You're just an angry, racist, sexist, white male incel, that's the only explanation. If you truly are a woman, you must have pretty bad case of internalised misogyny. And because it's so hard to distinguish when people say shit like that nowadays, yes I am joking.
Neostrius oh man that was pretty funny. Ya definitely nailed it. I only put that there cause I've seen people on both the website and here say "you only hate her cause she's a girl wahhhh" or "your just being sexist" like that's a load of crap and a poor excuse to dismiss someone's complaint
As of late if your a minority then your green lited. Seeing the trend of Irish, then Spanish, now a African, ul next might be a Japanese or Asian heritage person. Game experience not necessary apparently.
I've gotta be honest, it's getting to the point where I see Fiona in a video or hear she's in a video and it makes me not want to watch the video. I mean, I get that she get's along with the crew, and that's great. But this isn't entertaining. She's not good at games, and that's okay, but in at least a few videos she's been like 'I hate this, I'm turning the game off' etc. Case in point: the Cops and Crooks let's play in GTA just yesterday. Ok, it might be her just blowing hot air, but it's not entertaining. It speaks more of frustration and not-enjoyment of the game. That's not what I watch these videos for. AH might not be great at the games, but at least they TRY, and they at least seem to have FUN. Fiona doesn't seem too fussed with trying to learn the games, or seem to be having fun.
I disagree completely I loved the video it wasn't objectively bad you just subjectively didn't like it, and I don't know why honestly. She asked people how to play the game and learned from their instructions. The only complaint I see is that she didn't learn the game outside of the video, but nobody from AH has studied games outside of videos ever and they don't say Oh let's get rid of Michael Let's get rid of Geoff because they didn't learn the controls before they started playing. People are hating on Fiona because she's new and that's it. Asking her to no longer be a part of videos and get to the point where she can be as beloved as Matt or Jeremy or any one of the original 6 AH crew is a dis-service to her and to yourself for missing out on future content where she's hit her stride.
@@VideoShogun I mean, I basically stated I don't care so much about her not knowing the controls. It's her attitude and the way she just seems to get frustrated and angry when she doesn't understand how to play. I've got nothing against AH getting new people, never have. I loved Ryan, Jeremy, Matt, etc. as soon as they joined. Y'know why? Because they seemed to enjoy playing the games, or at least they weren't getting angry and frustrated and threatening to turn the game off etc. She got bullied a bit in the Cops and Crooks and she defaulted to threatening to turn the game off. But like I said maybe it was just her way of venting. Doesn't make it funny. I could care less if she knows how to play, as long as she fixes her attitude.
I wholeheartedly agree with all of ForgottenTamers points. I watch AchievementHunter for the fun and goodnatured way they play video games, they aren't hardcore and just doing it for the fun. I understand that Fiona might not enjoy it if she doesn't know the controls, but the fact that she outwardly complains and makes a big fuss of it all when she doesn't is irksome. AH life-ish videos Fiona is great in, however with the complaining the videos don't become enjoyable to watch. Just chill, the team aren't there to prove they're great at gaming, they are there to enjoy it and as ForgottenTamers mentioned Matt, Trevor and Jeremy (less so Alfredo at the start) seemed to me to be enjoying the games and having fun in them. I just haven't felt that with the ones Fiona doesn't know how to play. That being said I have enjoyed Fiona in the past in Kamikaze (I think) where she understood the game enough to have fun and not complain. So if they have her a 10 minute prep before the video began of the basic principles she might enjoy it more, and therefore the audience (at least me and ForgottenTamer and I am sure others too, reading the comments) will also enjoy it. Fuck, lots of words
I agree that she's not doing great with a lot of the games, but keep in mind that many of these games AH has been playing for years or at least is familiar with (Take for example GTA), she hasn't played. Hopefully, she gets better with the games, but it feels like with a lot of the games, they just kind of jump her into it, so that is probably frustrating to her. If in a few weeks, she's still got a negative attitude about the games, then I'd say its problematic. Just my opinion on the matter
out. of curiosity, what games did Fiona stream? I understand her having first time worms struggle, but it does seem to extend to everything. but I know that must not be the case
Noah Fuller oh but it is the case, besides Tetris and apparently persona 5 (which is her favorite game according to the recent smash let’s play)she is completely inept at literally every single game
It's such a contrast to hear the chemistry with Ray in Off Topic, and then the utter lack of entertainment coming from Fiona. I'm really curious what the hiring process is for AH, because there's NO way that Fiona was the best candidate that they could have gotten. Finding a person that either has a sense of humor, or some gaming ability, shouldn't be difficult. Obviously both is preferred, but at least one of those qualities SHOULD be a must for a job like this... Or maybe this is just a long con to try to make us actually happy to see Lindsay when she comes back from maternity leave...
i...huh. that...might be a scary thought. In all honesty though the problem is they're doing to Fiona something they did to nobody else. They're hazing her but not letting her have _her_ time be shown. We dont know _what_ she's good at, so all we see is her sucking and being confused and getting frustrated and not knowing what she's doing. And it's not even like, a Git Gud type of deal where the intent is to pick a game she's meh or crap at and get her to passable skill level, with the entertainment of what goes on in the process it's just "here's a clusterfuck of games you've never played but we do. keep up. also be funny." like...fuckin hell that's shitty what they're doing to her.
@@Xenmaru00 exactly, waht ah is doing to her is really really fucking shitty and then they act surprised that most of the AH fans hate her, well its AH's fault for not giving her even a chance to find her place and groove because i'm pretty certain that if they would give her a chance she could win over the AH fans fast, i mean matt did it, jeremey did it, alferdo did it and even trevor and lindsay have a lot of fans now a days too. this is just a horribly bad way to bring someone new into the mix.
Honestly I wish they'd stop bringing in new people at all. It was nice when you had a group of 5 or 6 who were basically in every video together and consistently made good content. I understand that they're all about this whole "big-time production company" thing now and half of the cast is gone on any given day. But I do miss when AH and RT on the whole were smaller and more focused on making the content that people started watching for in the first place. Haunter and whatever the Weird Place thing is and 50 live shows a year have really taken a toll on the old school content in my opinion.
For those who claim that the main issue people don't like about Fiona because she's [New/Woman/Etc], please look up AH Dead by Daylight stream w/ Dodger. Notice anything different about the comments? The community on youtube, in-general, doesn't have a problem with women or even someone who sucks at video games. They have a problem with an unfunny person. Fiona doesn't add a lot to these videos and instead sprinkling her in every odd video to even see if the audience liked her or not, she get's an entire week devoted to her. She's more or less a buzz-kill. I know these videos were probably done in weeks in advanced, and they're putting them out there because 'why not'. This is more of a future thing. Please don't do this again. Off to rewatch older videos.
I actually do find her quite annoying/unfunny/inept, but some of the comments go way too far. Like some people calling her a "stupid cunt", that's just uncalled for. And it's really awkward because I'm caught between "actually she is really bad" and "if you lash out this much over someone just being bad at games then you clearly have some problem with them that runs deeper than that". But then again lashing out way too much is just what RUclips comments are for, so y'know.
Learning what tye company that you're working for does and has done in the past should be a PRE-requisite to the job, not an after thought when the views drop off and the dislikes pour in.
@@VideoShogun Not really. I don't hate Fiona. I just don't think that the way things are going is the right way. She should have known these things before starting with AH. Knowing would have made sure she was the right fit for this channel. And if she wasn't, they could have found someone better.

You know it's kinda disconcerting when they have to have a week dedicated to teaching her the history of achievement hunter...When they could literally throw a dart out at RTX and just hire whoever is hit, and they would most likely just fit in with their own brand of humor?
Actually I think Matt and Jeremy inquired about working at Rooster Teeth at an RTX and Geoff practically hired them for having the balls to ask in front of an entire audience
They filmed a bunch of classic games with Fiona, so this week will be Minecraft, Ranbow six, Gmod, bunch of fan favourites, we'll see how people take it.
"Have you ever played Worms before?" "Uhh absolutely not." An entire summary of what Fiona week has been so far; being walked through all the basic games AH has done throughout the past few years. Nobody expect her to be as good as the gang here; its infuriating to watch her play games like this and find out it's the first time she's played them ever. I don't think she even has an interest to play them off work either.
Me: A worms video! YAY! Geoff: Ok, Fiona, as part of explaining the history of Achievement Hunter to you... smh, way to take me from super exited about a video to not caring at all. Fiona as a personality on podcasts etc is great but I hate this whole thing of teaching her how to play games that have been on the channel forever.
It's just sad to see Fiona obviously not care about the games they're playing. I mean, halfway through the video and shes already dead? mostly due to her own stupidity / laziness. She doesn't look at the screen, she doesn't read tooltips, she doesn't realize whats going on and quite frankly doesn't belong amongst a group of gamers when she's clearly only there to satisfy policies of women working, and the benefits that can bring to a company.
Fiona just doesn't seem like an actual gamer at all. I get that she hasn't played the game before, but she just seems so clueless, AND I think the worst part of all is that it seems like she's barely even trying to learn it, like she doesn't even care about playing, let alone winning and adding to the friendly, but heated competition that the let's plays always have : /

Now most of the content seems to be a plug for whatever AAA game they were sent pre-release or "Mario Kart/Party #300: maybe something different happens this time"
But that's just me.
Compare that to Jack blowing up in Cops'n'Crooks. ruclips.net/video/-SHWm1qkJYk/видео.html
I've noticed that when she's lagging behind, and everyone's trying to keep the energy up, she just gets mad.
Fuck me man the "it sound like Ray before he left" is a perfect analogy.

Sphinctal Sponge, Pungent Globule... 35 seconds in and I can tell which worms are Gavin's without even looking at the team colors.

Exactly this is why everyone is starting to hate her because they give half assed lessons on how to play
Yeah they shouldn't feel troubled to fulfill this type of request at all. Learning how to play Worms takes 20 minutes.
Learn by doing!
"The man who chases two rabbits catches neither."
I do think Fiona's got potential, I welcome more female representation in AH and another voice in the bullpen.
See: "Messing with Jacksquatch."
-Jeremy developed from the guy who builds things into, honestly, a much more engaged and funny version of Ray.
Josh Boehm well said, and I genuinely hope you're right
Absolutely without a doubt the best AH worms game ever. The beginning, the end, the hole in one, the parable of the drillboat, fantastic stuff.
VideoShogun chill out white knight its constructive criticism and obviously people agree judging by the thumbs up on it

because hhooooooollly shit, the truth about her is really something.
"Are you fiona it now mr. krabs?" Barb would be disappointed you missed that
Why do we get a week of her learning basic mechanics and controls?
She has no interest in the games, and seemingly doesn't even want to be there, given that just about every time she speaks it's to complain about _something._
And if she isn't having fun then she just completely tunes out, and doesn't even bother trying to be entertaining.
Look on the bright side, we see the other guys playing AH games
I was excited until Geoff started with "OK Fiona." Skipping this video too. I love worms too. damn it.
This is a serious question but does Fiona know how to play video games in general. She seems incompetent in every game she plays
Tetris. Overwatch. Several jRPGs. Smash.
AKA the antithesis of AH's games
@@5ivess. pretty much. it's kinda sad really. i'd like to see her playing something she's actively passionate about. Michael and Gavin have Play Pals, Ryan and Jeremy have Battle Buddies, there's a whole "Let's Watch" thing they could do where they throw her in front and have her do Hitman or an RPG she's played before...
Tetris, watch the video on that, she is deadly.
PeterWDawson not saying you’re wrong, but I find it hard to believe she plays overwatch after watching her play in the borderlands 2 stream a few months back
Why hire someone who has never played a single video game into your comedy video game channel?
@Jim Audsley At least with Lindsay, she knows how to play, she's just really bad at it. It's borderline insulting for someone to get this awesome job and not take the time to sit down and learn to play the games they play on a regularly basis. I'm not asking her to be good at them but to at least know the concept and controls to an extent.
Technical capacity
@@staple_gun6367 and even then lindsay will pull stuff like the "lindsey wins" incident.
They've played Worms countless times now, how does a personality who is supposed to be one of their in-game/on-air talents not think, "Hm... that's probably something I should get familiar with."
Alfredo came into Minecraft not knowing how to play and his mindset was, "Hey, let me learn how to play this" and it is actually fun and entertaining seeing him get excited about learn the game because the first time he turned on the game ever didn't appear to be in a video. He knew the basic controls and was able to be somewhat competent and didn't need someone holding his hand the entire time.
Gavin finally upgraded from steel girders of dreams to a digger boat of souls.
Why does Fiona always sound like she’s lost??
cause they're throwing her into games she's never played before and has no idea what she's doing for them. it's not _entirely_ her fault, we all have things we do, and dont do, and then things we have no idea what the hell that is, but they're putting her in front of a game she has no experience in, with the silent demand of "be funny" and its just...not even Lindsay chaos.
it's sad cause i'd like to see what she's _good_ at, something she's knowledged in. Like Michael got the whole of RE2 Remake and the whole thing was him talking about the differences between the original and the new one and genuine surprises and it was entertaining not just cause of the game but because he was well interested in it.
We need something like that, but for Fiona.
She hit her head too hard as a kid

@@InsanoRider777 By that logic you aren't a fan either and have no weight to your opinion.
That ending was the best I've seen since that magic lightning bolt that healed someone
Fiona's first move in Worms was one of the most worms moves possible.
Clearly you never see Gavins.

Because she’s hot.

Just my opinion on the matter
not knowing the controls can often result in a funny video, but with Fiona, it's just annoying. She's not funny
18:35 Oh the irony when Geoff as Edgar says: "I'm already in the hole".
out. of curiosity, what games did Fiona stream? I understand her having first time worms struggle, but it does seem to extend to everything. but I know that must not be the case

I LOVE FIONA WEEK !!
- No one ever
I love Fiona week so you're wrong
In an alternate universe where Fiona was an actual fan of AH content before being hired, her censored worm name was actually CaveBob SpongeMan
She has no personality other than being a complaining airhead. "Liiiikeee this game is Stooopid"
The classic Worms Jeremy "That's a good point" *does it anyway*
I feel a box of hair has more criteria to join the AH crew than Fiona does.

I don't think she even has an interest to play them off work either.
Me: A worms video! YAY!

smh, way to take me from super exited about a video to not caring at all.
