- The opening ceremony of the World Cup was held on 17 June at Chicago's Soldier Field. The ceremony was emceed by Oprah Winfrey, who fell off the dais in introducing Diana Ross, who gave a musical performance. Ross was also supposed to kick a soccer ball into the goal from the penalty spot at the beginning of her performance, with the goal then splitting in two as part of a pre-orchestrated stunt.

Later came John Secada's turn but he couldn't get out in time..he had to sing still stuck in that hole and the only his neck up to his head could only be seen 🤣🤣

Watch the Oprah Winfrey Story on this it's so funny there was a hole in the stage an Oprah fell through it and everyone else that walked past it also fell inside it but they couldn't do anything because it was a live event and Diana Ross was singing. And all the countries were dancing there native dance and falling through the hole
