What a great night to test out the new S6! Another great video. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos and do these reviews. Cool to see you testing out the PSA/AAC ammo!

It’ll never happen, but I can imagine pop-up cartoon balloons with sayings like on the old Batman series. Kapow! Blammo! Whack! Cows! 🤣 Thanks for another enjoyable video Brian! 👍🏼
Nice shooting. I picked up a S6 recently and I'm very impressed with it, particularly at the price point. Compared to my 4 year old Pulsar the S6 is half the weight, 1/3 the size, slightly better resolution, far more intuitive operation, better battery life without the proprietary batteries, and I'm loving the RAV. What's not to like? Also hunting NE Tx.
I currently own a storm 3 and have been debating to order another storm 3 or storm 6. The S3 with a 3.5x base mag is really great, but how does it compare to the S6 at 4x ? I know it’s kind of a loaded question but I’ve used other 640 scopes with a 2x base mag and the S3 ends up being a better picture after the zoom. Obviously at base mag the 640 wins all day. Just trying to get as close as I can to compare apples to apples. I’m in south Florida with most shots being 200 yards and closer. You opinion is greatly appreciated!
Was able to look through the storm s2. Awesome scope, but noticed screen distortion/garbling when there was recoil. Also the brightness from 1 to 2 was such a big jump in brightness that might be a problem for pitch dark hunters where 1 is too low and 2 is too harsh. 3, 4, and 5 are extremely bright.
Very nice video! Im looking into getting a RIX AStorm S6 to mount on my helmut. Your video helpled a lot. Im in N Tx too. I hunt in the Denton/Wise county area.
@@CarpeSus Sorry I meant Stride ST6. Im just getting into using a helmet/thermal monocular. Great video, thank you. I just ordered a bunch of that ammo. I can't tell from looking at your bullet if it's an sst, or eldm. If it has a cannalure, I'll assume it's an sst. I wish they were a tad faster, but for the price, it beats reloading. Looks like they worked good.
These are not a very equitable comparison. If you can afford it, I am going to tell you to get the Storm S6. If you were asking about the more equitable Storm S3, I would go with it as well.
Well, that is a bit of a sticky question. There is spotting, recognition, and identification. Spotting could be as little as one pixel lighting up to indicate that there is a heat source. Recognition would mean basically that you see an animal in the field that you think is a coyote based on general overall shape, movement pattern/gate, etc.,. Identification would mean that you see diagnostic anatomical traits to actually identify it as a coyote (versus a similar canid such as a fox or domestic dog (some of which are coyote-like in appearance. I would argue that most thermal hunters don't actually identify the coyotes they shoot so much as recognize them and rationaize that they are seeing a coyote based on the circumstances of the situation. I know of a couple of situations where I have held off shooting a "coyote" in a field because I just could not be certain it was not a domestic dog (in particular, one of the landowner's dogs). I would GUESS the K3 would be decent for this somewhere between 300 and 400 yards in good conditions. From an elevated position (such as a hillside overlooking a valley) that distance may be extended. If the decision to shoot is going to be based on what you see in the K3, I would say
@@CarpeSus that was a really great answer! That helped me a lot with getting an idea of the capabilities of it. I have been curious about the AAC 6.5 Saber Black Tips. My grendel doesn't like hornady but I have had pretty good accuracy results out Saber 5.55.
So you don't think it is a SST bullet? Either way, glad it seems to be working for you and the price is really sweet as well.
@CarpeSus to the best of my knowledge, Hornady never made a SST in 5.56. I'm thinking it could be a V Max.
