A little secret is there are probably dozens of prompts he’s using to make these. I promise you he’s not simply just typing “pikachu as a dark 80s fantasy movie.”
I love how the AI's interpretation of Pokemon ranges from "fairly accurate depiction" to "not accurate but still an interesting take" to "eldritch horror that is forever burned into my nightmares".
Gyarados and dragonair is how I imagined them, water dragons, Maori have a myth about a water 🐉 🐲. It's like a giant serpent in the ocean. It is most likely dragonair but could also be gyarados. Tani-fa. IS how u pronounce it.
That's what I would call "Uncanny Valley Nightmare Territory"...I mean Dragonworld from 1994 scarred me for 20 years of my life, too wide eyes and smile gave me shivers and awful feelings every time I looked at that thing...Geebus that dragon didn't age well either and it was an animatronic.
ruclips.net/video/rPb9X3uxcKs/видео.html Thumbnail for this one in partic'looks feverish. And yes I've been hearing this from quite a few now about how the Ai seems to be showing us a dream realm.
Im astonished that this actually looks like a show I would adore, despite being entirely AI generated. Some of the designs, like Alakazam, Gengar and Mewtwo look super imposing, while others look derpy and cute. Perhaps it is that medieval feel with the armors and locations, mixed with the puppet look. Feels as if a group of kids were transported into a different dimension, forced to wander this strange ancient, yet technologically advanced world.
I've seen messed up hands in AI generated images before, but what stuck out to me in this one was the abundance of excess nostrils. It was like those cursed images people draw of front facing Peppa Pig.
I don't know if I'm glad this wasn't the aesthetic of the Detective Pikachu movie, or disappointed. (Sees Clefable), Yeah, this uh...can stay in its own universe.
All kidding aside, the diglett being a rock mole that scoots on the ground to make the dirt around it is ingenious to keep up with the hidden legs issue
you run into Exeggutor in a dark alley. you turn around to run away terrified when you come face to face with haunter blocking the only escape. fade to black
Man, this is awesome. Some studio should take all these designs and add up films in the style that take themselves too. Seriously it’s all about how you do. It fans would love this, and it would generate fans of its own just over the years to come.
I can totally picture this as an actual film if Pokemon came out in the 80s and was given a tie-in movie. The ones where the director has almost no clue what Pokemon even is, but it was on TV once and it’s super popular so it’s gotta be made into a film! Ash, Misty and Brock are played by actual kids/preteens and they get transported into the world of Pokemon, except they can all talk and sometimes the mouth movements don’t line up with the voices because of the prosthetics, and much of the names are pronounced incorrectly. In fact it’d basically be a film very loosely inspired by Pokemon than a proper adaptation, but it makes a ton of money anyway.
My heart fucking melted at charmander, rattata, nidorina, nidoran male, clefairy, vulpix, wigglytuff, vileplume, psyduck, mankey, seel, dewgong, ghastly, eevee, flareon, dratini, dragonite, and mew. Freaking LOVE Alakazam, Electabuzz, Hypno, Mewtwo and the Legendary Birds' designs (Moltres actually looks MOLTEN). And the other two ghosts are so perfectly terrifying. Also Victreebel looks like it's in the middle of eating another pokemon. D:
Zubat looking like a dragon quest boss was not expected Hypno looks like a mad scientist that specializes in archmagic and alchemy Magmar has rathalos vibes And Rhydon is basocally what blastoise should have gotten
@Astralysis Awesome soundtrack....always remember, you can have the best ai art and cgi, but without the killer audio, it's nothing. So, I say keep them coming. Subscribed today

i remember when i first found my dads collection of Gotta Catch ‘Em All VHS tapes from the 80s. we ended up watching through all of them in the coming weeks while he told me all these facts about the show. how most of the monsters were animatronics and some had to be done with CGI which was pretty impressive for the time. how the decoration on Arboks forehead ended up falling off after production and my dad managed to buy it on ebay for 40 dollars (he still has it with his tapes). man does this video bring back nostalgic memories 💕
OH ARCEUS those are awesome, their costume/puppet like appearence is amazing , the weird 80's realism for pure animals (especially the legendary birds) is perfect , i hope you'll continue doing this for every generations ecause its amazing
I would actually be interested in a dark fantasy pokemon movie. Detective Pikachu capture the dangerous life of pokemon but the design are still adorable.
This is absolutely something that needs to happen, I would totally watch this series, it looks amazing already. Can you imagine this being an actual thing of an episodic nature? That would be absolutely amazing
I like how the AI knows to make them look like puppets or costumes instead of real creatures. Make the 80s movie aesthetic more authentic
You can feel the AI is scrolling through the Jim Henson stuff first
A little secret is there are probably dozens of prompts he’s using to make these. I promise you he’s not simply just typing “pikachu as a dark 80s fantasy movie.”
Gremlins, Jim Henson, Not The Mama all wrapped up in 1?
Yeah they have that Jim Henson Labyrinth and Dark Crystal vibe to them.
Do you know what ai they used?
I love how the AI's interpretation of Pokemon ranges from "fairly accurate depiction" to "not accurate but still an interesting take" to "eldritch horror that is forever burned into my nightmares".
I think it got a smidge of 'Pokemon Drunk oak' in there too with the oddly fluffy Flareon.^^
That Lickitung looks like an alien that could suck out your bone marrow. o.O
I dont think I've ever seen a scarier exeggutor in my life.

1:17 The fact that Beedrill has actual drill bits for hands is hilarious to me.
i was wondering what made him drill then i noticed them lol
pretty smart
He has hand drills in the cartoon
Everybody knows thats big dick bee
"It a bee and a drill, wtf else did you expect?" -some AI probably
I like how Gastly looks far *less* threatening than the actual pokémon does... and then you have its evolutions.
😂
Surely Ghastly won't evolve into a sleep paralysis demon. . . who no one will trade for to save you with.
In that universe Gastly s family evos are the Chersire Cat s bloodline family 😅
Yeah, dang, Haunter looks kinda like one of those smiling demons from the original Doom game. Am I right? XD
@@Astralysis that PsyDuck Legendary, make it into a Shirt
I like how they're consistent enough that they all look like they could've been from the same film.
Some of them look like they're from the orginal movie and some of them look like they're from the better budget 90s sequel.
These "as 80s so 'n so" - videos feel like a fever dream.
They make me uncomfortable somehow. They're really cool, yet it gives this sinking feeling of unease.
The whole Midjourney art thing is like that. The music vids with Midjourney art could be rather dream-like.

The A.I must have recognized one of it’s own, it nailed the look of Porygon
"Wow, it even got that magnemite was a synthetic/robotic sort of Pokemon! How impressive!"
Tangela: *Made of shag carpet*
Look, the special effects team back then couldn't get all the little wiggly bits to work so they went with carpet
I could not help but laugh at Tangela. My* mind immediately thought*, plush toy. XD

the best part of your comment is, that could make a nice 80's movie or show that's a cult classic
Everything is ether: Monkey, Dinosaur, Bird, or Derp. Or some combination of them.
I'm getting stranger things meets pokemon vibes
@@Rctdcttecededtef hey, it's the endless ocean of the internet, that can totally happen
5:15-5:28 The Abra line's magnificent! Can't play the game without it for more than 2 decades.
Alakzham Looks like The Mentor of the 80s Kid protag. Speaking to him telepathically about a coming calamity that he has to face.
Dude alakazam gives me renamon vibes
At first I thought Alakazam was Volteon.
This is phenomenal 5:27 Alakazam looks like he could have his own entire show
He looks like renamon
A better shiny Lucario
@@goonking420 he DO look like Renamon, nice

MissingNo was a real treat. It's like the Nothing from Never Ending Story in a way.
Somehow Mr mime has become even more horrifying
Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!
I've come to realize that clowns are even more terrifying than usual.
If I was facing him in battle...I'd forfeit instantly out of shear terror xD
Looks human, but isn't. Mr. Mime is a fae.
It all looks like concept art or prototype puppets for a Pokémon 90’s film that we never got…
Most of them look like nightmare fuel, especially when you consider the AI can't quite figure out fingers. However, Alakazam looks badass.
I've seen messed up hands in AI generated images before, but what stuck out to me in this one was the abundance of excess nostrils. It was like those cursed images people draw of front facing Peppa Pig.

That Mr. Mime is nightmare fuel at its most potent.
Some of them look straight out of Labyrinth or Dark Crystal or other practical effect movies from the 80s which is pretty spot on
All kidding aside, the diglett being a rock mole that scoots on the ground to make the dirt around it is ingenious to keep up with the hidden legs issue
If Jim Henson made a Pokemon movie.
Directed by Tim Burton, naturally
Pokémon Dark Crystal
Exactly what I thought when I saw the puppets
08:20 Voltorb looks just amazing! WTH!😳
Yes I was gonna comment the same thing.
My fave Pokemon, including it's evolution😃
When can we expect all 151 pokemon as an 80s family sitcom?
I mean that could be a thing lol
10:25 You just made my fave Gen 1 Pokemon even cooler.
Electabuzz just looks like Zeraora
Electrobuzz looks like the Electric Variant of Incenroar .
Where is Shoe?
I DON'T THINK NINTENDO WOULD LET THIS MOVIE EXIST, BUT I WANT TO SEE IT!!!
Kadabra looks like a villain plotting to take over the world and Alakazam looks like the villain who succeeded.
Imagine If Giovanni had an Alakazam on his team which would be brutal lol
To me this feels like if Pokemon mystery dungeon was an 80s fantasy film because most of the Pokemon here are wearing armor and that just sounds cool
you run into Exeggutor in a dark alley. you turn around to run away terrified when you come face to face with haunter blocking the only escape. fade to black

I’m already in love with how tiny Venusaur looks 🥺💀
Alakazam, Haunter, Executor and Electrobuzz go hard for no reason and I love it!
@3:40 -- Man, Gloom has seen some things!
Everyones talking about the Abra Line, but the Geodude line is a fantastic interpretation! I love how it made Gravelers slightly mossy!
I love how Alakazam Looks SO MUCH oh my god it’s so pretty
That Butterfree is nightmare fuel.
i love that you included misingno. in there
Wooooaaa this is sweet! Ty!
When I saw the thumbnail I had no idea it would be alakazam. Great job!
Honestly some of these make really good concept ideas to try and branch and sketch from
These are epic man good job!
Thank you!
I like how nearly all the birds are just dyed harpy eagles
It interpreted porygon as a bird
Some of these look amazing. But some just are straight up nightmare fuel.
3:15 It reminds me a lot to his counterpart in the Detective Pikachu film xd
Now I wanna see Gen 2 Pokemon. Houndoom is my favorite!
would be nice if they revisited the 80s style movies like this ..shit would seem much more realistic then todays movies
I really like these thank you for posting.
Merci pour la découverte de Karl Casey, j'adore la synthwave
Mew and Mewtwo look phenomenal
This is amazing please make a part 2!
I second that
Legit impressive amount of effort you put in here, amigo!
The Pokémon movie we deserved.
Meowth is adorable, Flareon is perfect, and Gengar somehow captures the essence while looking very different.
Golem looks fricking BADASS.
And Magnemite and Magneton look like something out of Ratchet and Clank😂😁.

Wow, out of all the MidJourney AI Dark Fantasy Generated pokemon I've seen these actually look amazing!

Koffing with smoke bombs was really clever and Pinser with a stomach pattern to look like teeth is honestly genius.
Zubat looking like a dragon quest boss was not expected
Hypno looks like a mad scientist that specializes in archmagic and alchemy
Magmar has rathalos vibes
And Rhydon is basocally what blastoise should have gotten
Man, I would give anything for this to be a real movie.

I think the response to a lot of these would be, it's on my leg, ah ah get it off get it off (shakes leg)
Lmao
I Just LOVE how the air tries to give everything some form of clothes feels real 80s
The wartortle looks like a gremlin but its exactly how these Pokémon would look like if they were 80s design
