This was only the third marathon of Brazilian Daniel do Nascimento. He almost broke the Brazilian national record running 2:06:11. (3 minutes under his first one last year) The Brazilian record is 2:06:05 by Ronaldo da Costa in Berlin 1998, then the new world record. Nascimento collapsed in Tokyo 2020 Olympics marathon ( his 2nd one) after a "chat" with Eliud Kipchoge, but the boy (only 23) is a phenomenon. We'll hear a lot about him in the near future. By the way, he was ignored by the commentators who know nothing about marathoners lol

The commentator knew nothing;Couldn't identify anybody and had no knowledge of them if he did.How come he had no access to a list of elite runners or the splits on the computer during the race?Really unprofessional.I have watched races with foreign language commentaries that I felt better informed during.

@@nuqleus5552 Camera work was shaky, often jerked quickly, names of male front runners were rarely shown and not as winner won. It was a wonderful performance by the male runner who defended the lead possibly 5 times in the last quarter of the race. Male places not shown on screen after 1st, 2nd, & 3rd crossed the finish line. I think film editor, if in fact any editing was done, did not know the male winners name?

The male winner staved off at least 5 attempts at the lead. One of the best efforts, determination, I’ve ever seen!

Well, we heard a lot about Daniel after the 2022 NYC marathon which he was leading for most of the miles until he collapsed.
