I note that Auto center (C) - only centers the turret to its default position, which isn't necessarily the front like in most ships, but people using a hammerhead turret or something like that should be aware the gun will center to the side it is on rather than the front
I switch between gyro modes for combat and transport. I don’t want the ship movement to pull me off target and I want to keep turret locked forward when traveling.
Really appreciate the video. Do you know what ballistic weapons are best for turrets? I want to keep full power to pilot control but have the option available if I multicrew.
Have to note that its usually the less (combat) experienced players who usually volunteer for gunner duty in my experience and this only helps them ease into the fun of it. As for mechanics, i still find turrets to traverse too slowly to be a valid threat to smaller craft as they should be. Just a numbers change, sure, but when an AI Hammerhead has turrets that *snap* onto you it shows how dangerous that ship is meant to be.
After watching this I noticed some ships do not have the same turret GUI as seen in this video. Or is this the new helmet HUD confusing things? I was wearing a helmet...
Turrets should just be reverted to the fps type of response where it was almost 1:1 game movement to mouse like. Although current autogimbal implementation is another good way of giving power to turret users again
I think size 1 guns should behave that way, and it gradually get slower as it goes up. It should still be pretty quick, but size 5 and size 6 should be less responsive than size 1
I have arthritis in my hands which limits my dexterity i use sticks and pilot auto gimbals help me. So they remove them from me the pilot with out any explanation and give them to turrets thank CIG for making my life in SC less fun.😢
Autogimbals will make you useless against a good light or medium fighter. Gotta learn to manual gimbal and rely on hit markers instead of the pip when dealing with them

Yeah, I agree, the turret speeds need some love
this auto gomball mode makes turrets start to become useful, and as a result multi crew ships gain.
It is a start. After the year I am going to highlight the issues though.

are you in a remote turret?

I would love that personally.

I am sorry that happened. My most recent shoulder surgery has me feeling the same way.

Sadly even with the auto-gimbals they miss people who know how to slow roll. :(
Turret gunner the most boring job on any ship other than the guy who has to sit in the missile rear turret on the polaris =P
it sure is boring
