If you make a best move, the video ends

A classic to be sure.
You: plays *brilliant move*
This Video: that wasnt the best move according to the engine so the video ends
I think, it is impossible to have a brilliant move in 10 moves, even in 15 moves it may be hard, as I think most of the 10 moves parties has been played already (unless some real chaos is happening without any book\good\best moves), so AI already aware of the best moves that can be played. Brilliant is the best move, but AI didn't find this position best, until deeper analysis.
@@maksymisaiev1828 Who said it needed to be in 10 moves?
@@maksymisaiev1828 With the way these engines work, and how long they've existed (40+ years) it's not the first 10 moves. It's every move. That's how the AI can approach 4000 elo and beat a GM nearly every time
@@maksymisaiev1828 I actually had my first brilliant move on the 10th turn.

I'm white.
First 5 moves where all book.
1. e4 e5
2. Nf3 Nc6
3. Bb5 a6
4. Ba4 b5
5. Bb3 Na5

8. Bg5 f6
9. Bxf6? gxf6 (missed win)

@@glitchquitch pretty sure brilliant is given when this move is the only one that improves your position a lot, like drawing an otherwise lost game or winning an otherwise drawn/lost game
If you can't predict a move you opponent will _not_ make, the video ends.
Before your opponent's move pick a legal move for your opponent. If the opponent plays the move, the video ends.
the double-negative makes my brain hurt
@Shaeby I'd rephrase this as:
"Each turn, predict a move your opponent will not play, otherwise the video ends"
that seems too easy, there are too many moves available for there to be a significant risk

Chess but you can only take if your opponent took on the last move
So checkmate can only come after his opponent took a piece... nice one.
Also, no sacrifices, for extra difficulty (but trades are allowed).
@@juancabral2003 you don't have to take a piece for it to be checkmate though
@@idonoy661 yeah, you right... I just assumed checkmate as the capture of the king... but actually the capture would come in the following move after being checkmated.
I dont understand why engine didn't liked that last move. The suggested one doesn't attack anything. I would either develop my other pieces or attack like you did, this engine best move was super weird.
The engine did like that move it was a good move it was just not the best move.
The engine sees that if you play Qe2, the opponent has to either block or lose the right to castle. Losing the right to castle is something the engine wants anyway, and blocking really hurt's the opponent's ability to try to create counterplay - You can either leave the opponent without a Queen (either pinned or traded off), or without a bishop (pinned) and with his Queen locked up on the back rank, meaning the opponent has one undeveloped knight to play the game with, meanwhile you earn tempo.
The engine would probably love to trade off the Queens and go towards the endgame with a better pawn structure and piece activity. Those double doubled pawns that would promote on light squares when you have the light squared bishop and four connected pawns on the queenside are a liability Stockfish would eat for breakfast.
Forking pawns gives the opponent more room to try to come back into the game because he can just defend them and play to castle and develop equal material - Stockfish sees White is set up better to push for the endgame and wants to play forcing moves and get there ASAP.
At least, that's my guess.
I ran through it and, with perfect engine play from both sides, the end goal seems to be castling. In fact, the sequence goes 1. Qe2 Qe7 2. Nd2 Nd7 3. Nc4 O-O 4. O-O-O. Aside from the errant white knight move threatening the bishop, the engine rushed as quickly as possible to castle. I tried a few different lines as White and the engine favored castling above basically everything else.
Engines love restricting opponent play rather than attacking erroneously.
@@ryanhodin5014 This is dead on. Anytime I use hints (still a useless beginner) the engines always tell me to trade queens when possible.
you say you're running out of ideas for centuries, and you always comes up with one
5:12 - didn't checked the engine to analyze this yet, but I assume Qe2 is a move because of check.
Why specifically there a check?
Well, for one if king moves in that position from check, you prevent your opponent from Castling, which would let him develop his rook and hide his queen (tho to be fair he would be castling into open space if he took king-side castling, but there is still queenside to castle into in future... not even mentioning there is an open G file for rook anyway).
If he blocks the check with his queen, you could trade the queens if you want and then he might have been forced to take with black bishop if he want to castle this game at all, but taking iwth Bishop partially undevelops him which isn't great either.
If he blocked with Bishop in the first place, well, again - you have undeveloped Bishop a bit, tho in that position black at least have a discover attack on D pawn with his Queen.
It's hard for me to honestly tell what's the best course of action from this position other than "develop the pieces".
I don't think it's a good move cause it seems like a one mover and anyway you better keep your queen on the board when you created this many weaknesses on your opponent side
I think you're reading into it too deepy.
Engines don't think. Their algorithms come up with some move that is great. But they'll never explain to you why it's great. The point evaluations are also not correct: if you keep playing the top moves, eventually the evaluation will change every time unless it's already forced till the end.
If I keep Stockfish 14+ NNUE running on Lichess, it keeps flipflopping between Qe2+ being slightly better than the alternatives, and it being equal to the alternatives. What I think is going on here is:
* The position is very open, so the engines can't exhaustively search all the variations.
* Qe2+ gets prioritized in calculations because it's forcing and is equally good to the alternatives, so it jumps ahead earlier.
* When the other moves get calculated, they catch up.
* The engine in the video stopped calculating at a point where Qe2+ was leading. This doesn't make it the best move.
* White has an advantage in all lines because the imbalances in the position (King safety and Pawn structure) simply favor him, with pawn structure being a static imbalance. Black's very slight lead in development doesn't count because of King Safety issues.
* Trading Queens doesn't actually matter in this position. Keeping Queens on the board favors the attacker (White), whilst trading down into an endgame favors the player with the better pawn structure (White). The only reason I'd see to trade Queens as a human is if you want to castle short and are scared of the g file.
Didn’t check the engine… proceeds to suggest a ridiculous move which is approved by the engine… yeah sure
For those wondering Bishop e2 was thr best move to prepare to castle which would be a lot harder after Queen g5
Awh yeah the classic Tennison Gabit: ICBM variation

@@Ari-hc1vr no, some weird opening I dont remember. Also the fried liver fast mate lane (kg8) works too, altough I wasnt the one blundering that
putting the king into check requires him to either move it to get out of check, preventing castling, or un-developing a bishop, both of which are good moves, which is why that is the best move.
But Qe2 blocks white's own light squared bishop
But that move is absurd. It blocks the light squared bishop and just pushes towards a high piece endgame, which is cowardly.
This is an inbetweener, you don’t leave your queen in front of the king, after bishop blocks you go qb5 attacking same two pawns you would with qf3.
Exactly
Stockfish always show the best move but it don't know how to play chess
Only your queen can take a piece. (Can be done with other pieces as well such as only a knight can capture a piece)
Or
Must move a pawn if possible (like being in check doesn’t count)
Or
Only 2 pawn moves allowed
Or
Only Queen and pawns are allowed to move
The reason is you can move your queen top left attack freely and nothing can kill it
Should have opened with queens pawn game. You can play book moves for the first 4 moves or so, no matter how many idiotic moves your opponent makes
It won't be book moves in the computer's eyes.

the worst challenge; worst blunder every even, brilliant move every odd.
The thing with chess bots is that it counts a check sometimes higher then a good threating move or even a fork even if you don't have any pieces threatended before and after your move.
No, I think Stockfish thought that a queen exchange is very much preferable, since the pawn structure of the opponent was damaged beyond repair.
for the first like 5-10 moves you have to make the absolute worst move

If there are two best moves the video ends
If one of your opponent's pieces gets into your first two ranks, the video ends (if my opponent invades my territory but easier)
Chess, but your pieces can only capture pieces on the same coloured square they started the game on (rightmost rook can only capture on white squares, etc).
If your piece isn't next to another one of your pieces the video ends.
Oh yes, caught by the stutter step to check the king.

No birds: If your piece (including pawns) land on f4 the video ends
Yea stockfish almost ALWAYS wants you to trade queens
You must rotate board by 90° clockwise (counter clockwise) each time any piece or pawn land on light (dark) square.

If you lose a piece (not a pawn), the video ends.

You must let your opponent promote two pawns before the game ends.

If you move any piece or pawn into enemy territory the video ends.
