To anyone who reads this, the tree cove is one of the best locations to build an endgame base due to a complete lack of hostile mobs and a huge amount and variety of resources present in the grime and walls. Bringing most resources to grow such as acid shrooms and kelp and several heat vents and uranium and lead for power youll have no need to leave the area and prepare your journey to the lava zone.

After exploring for a bit I saw reaper leviathan skeletons and a sea dragon skeleton. I found some rubies next to it but I decided to explore more. Next thing I know is my seamoth saying “Maximum depth reached, ascend ASAP!” I decided to leave the lost river after that. When arriving to the surface level, I found myself in the bulb zone. Knowing what happened yesterday, (check the reaper leviathan lore video for the story) I spammed my sonar to make sure there wasn’t a reaper nearby. I have sworn to not go down through the lost river until I have gotten a P.R.A.W.N suit.

My second base is down in the lost river just before the lava zone by the ghost leviathan tree. It's peaceful down there. I've seen only one ghost leviathan and next time I was in that area he was gone. Been peaceful since. Got sick of going up and down so just built another base there with thermal power so I can finish the last couple task to endgame. It's terrifying at first lol, but eventually it just becomes home. Just save frequently while exploring incase you do bump into a GL
Lost River is definitely my favorite biome in the game. However, on my first playthrough, I used the ghost forest entrance in the northern blood kelp zone and my god was annoying to navigate with the cyclops. luckily after getting stuck on many trees and taking several blows from the ghost leviathan I made it down the massive brine waterfall. after that I was in the clear but to anyone currently playing, use a different entrance for your cyclops.
My favorite and main base was built in the Ghost Leviathan egg area, it's really beautiful and free from aggressive fauna (Ironic, I know), plus is rich with resources, specially uranium and deep shrooms for energy. That's why the Lost River it's my favorite area in the game
I was on edge the first time I went down there. I was so jumpy, I looked back every 5 seconds. I heard a spoopy noise so I looked behind me, nothing. I turned back around: HI SIR IM MR GHOST LEVIATHAN AND IM HERE TO RUIN YOUR DAY. I didn’t play for the rest of the day 💀

My best guess in terms of the weird spikes for chicken from the roof and nature is quite common to find such examples obviously smaller quite often caused by rapid falling cooling magma. Additionally my guest for the rings what most likely have to do with the flow of lava occurring at the time. Another possibility is these rings developed as the landscape shifted over time allowing for rapid falling and cooling magma. Just my guess
My first playthrough I set up bases everywhere I thought looked good. I had 2 in the Lost River. One was near the entrance by a lil' Casperand some bones and the other was on the border overlooking the tree grove. It's also worth mentioning I played in VR as it is 20'000 leagues better. Far scarier but far more beautiful too.
@@TheLastBacon Nice one for the quick reply :D Oh indeed it can be terrifying. 1st playthrough the Leviathans (Barring the one big Ghosty who decided to turn up at my base in safe shallows) they would leave me alone if I left them alone. This playthough (2nd) they are ferocious. Ghosts hound me relentlessly and the Reapers.... They dive at me at every opportunity. They have appeared in kelp forests to snack on my seamoth even after I have escaped. From petting a Reaper on my first playthrough (Screenshotted) to being chased to the void by them on my 2nd. Stuck between Ghost Leviathans and Reapers. They seem to be far more aggressive on my 2nd playthrough with no chance of sneaking past now. Truely fear inducing. And the howls. They send shivers down your spine. The only thing worse is the roar when they something to eat. Typically me or my seamoth.
I once build a base in the mountains corridor. I was surprised how ridiculously good the spot was. Everything I needed was pretty close. There were thermal vents for power, next to them i easily found table coral, diamonds and lithium, there was a load of quartz everywhere, titanium and so on. Even materials that were not in the corridor were not that far away, like gold, silver and copper. There is a ton of copper in the lava zone and the entrance is right next to the corridor. Even the ghost was not a problem get around most of the time. The only problem that i encountered was that getting out of the lava zone thought the entrance close to the mountains corridor with just a prawn suit was.... pretty hard with that ghost leviathan above me and 5 damn warpers around me. Though not only the warpers stop being a problem once the player is cured, but also sneaking by the creatures in a cyclops is really easy, just a little slow.
@@TheLastBacon The only time i had a problem with the prawn suit in the river was when trying to get from the lava zone since the entrance is a giant hole in the ground with one large very aggressive monster always watching it. The prawn suit is actually pretty good since it forces me to walk on the floor in the brine good portion of the time, and the ghost may attack but it will not go into the brine, making it a great hiding spot, provided that the player is deep enough. The other thing that might be a problem is that the corridor is not that big of a place so the base size is limited. Right now i am building bases in other locations, some of which were recommended by others but none of them are as good as the mountain corridor one. I have to constantly travel quite far to get the right materials.
The only time I dare venture into the Lost River is to access the lava zones, because I love myself some Kyanite, despite it not really being too necessary to have a lot of in a playthrough. Doesn’t make it any less alluring!
Btw this biome is literally under the entire map, it is 2 kilometers long. Which is the maps length. This one time I was right next to the deadzone I don’t know what entrance it was but it had ampeels everywhere and it was just a small area of sand then a deep drop off 700 meters deep and i looked towards my base and it was 2.7 kilometers away. Maybe because of my depth adding an extra 700 meters

Did you kill the ghost leviathan in the bones field? I could have sworn i saw his body floating down into the brine
Yep :) just so that it doesn't ruin the shots by swimming in my face.
He did it in the stream
I would suggest the blood kelp trench lost river entrance for quick trips, but if you need to take your cyclops I would suggest the entrance by life pod 12 and the bulb zone
Good advice! :)
1:37 where did you find this map
Just google I believe :)
I love that place! Also had an endgame base there during my first playthrough :)
The lost river is so amazing and atmospheric😄😄😄😄😎😎😎😎😊👍🏻!!!
Definitely agree :) it's a really cool area.
The Last Bacon dam right it’s the second best area in the base game😄😄😄😄😎😎😎😎😊👍🏻!!! It’s second only to the dead zone
It is an awesome area for sure :) And you're right it can be a real pain to navigate!
Could you do a “finding the gargantuan leviathan” creepypasta
I've never written one....but I could try :)
That would be awesome! Please consider it!
My favorite and main base was built in the Ghost Leviathan egg area, it's really beautiful and free from aggressive fauna (Ironic, I know), plus is rich with resources, specially uranium and deep shrooms for energy. That's why the Lost River it's my favorite area in the game
Fair enough :) the area certainly has a very cool feel to it!
@@TheLastBacon me:checks the thermometer outside.
Me:quite LITERALLY
I was on edge the first time I went down there. I was so jumpy, I looked back every 5 seconds. I heard a spoopy noise so I looked behind me, nothing. I turned back around: HI SIR IM MR GHOST LEVIATHAN AND IM HERE TO RUIN YOUR DAY. I didn’t play for the rest of the day 💀
I feel you :) the lost river is definitely a creepy area to explore - especially for the first time.
U r 7 subs away from 10k!
Also i was on a boat for a few days and used my mobile data to watch you whilst i was away
Absolutely insane :) and thank you very much for the dedication!

I really enjoy talking to you guys - other RUclipsrs are missing out :)
Its not called the Lost River for nothing I got lost my sanity here
I feel you :) always manage to get lost there.
Same, except I got lost here and my food and water are 8 and 3, respectively.
Yeah I think that's a very solid guess :) Especially with how the area probably came to change given the lava zones nearby.
I remember dreading to get nickel from the lost river so I just never went for so long XD
The river can definitely be a scary place to navigate :)
CONGRATS ON HITING 10,000 SUBS!
Thank you very much :) can hardly believe it myself.

Shh... he’s just...sleeping... shhhhh...

Haha it sure does :)

Ayyy the real OG's :)
I am!
that one juvenile ghost reaper is always in the part I want to look for resources in.
Oh yeah, quite the unfortunate placement :)
Imma ask something...
Am I the only one that installed Subnautica mostly because of the peeper?
I honestly couldn't say :) they are definitely cool creatures.
I once saw jacksepticeye and coryxkenshin play, then i got hooked to it and 4 years later i finally got it
ChaxerzzYT Gamer same lol
My first playthrough I set up bases everywhere I thought looked good. I had 2 in the Lost River.
One was near the entrance by a lil' Casperand some bones and the other was on the border overlooking the tree grove.
It's also worth mentioning I played in VR as it is 20'000 leagues better. Far scarier but far more beautiful too.
I have tried VR a few times and it is indeed awesome :) Terrifying too!
@@TheLastBacon Nice one for the quick reply :D
Oh indeed it can be terrifying.
Oh no my ptsd is coming back
*ghost leviathan screeches in the distance :)
The Last Bacon No, take everything but my prawn suit!
Cove tree base is so cool and a great spot for getting stuff and very close to the lava zone for progressing the game
Definitely one of my favorite locations looks-wise :)
Crap im late
YEET
I think you're right on time! :)
@@TheLastBacon The yeet will never leave
What's awesome is that underwater rivers are an actual thing.
Exactly! Super cool :)
Subnatica: lost river
Subnatica below zero: found River
Subnautica 3: River :)
Subnautica 4: Gone river
Subnautica 5 : Everything is River
Happy to know what a brine lily is. That plant is underrated as hell
Yeah it is a very cool one :)
I really love that the huge skeleton you find is only a 3rd if its size
That's absolutely crazy right? :)
The juvenile ghost leviathans have a mean habit of ending my hardcore mode runs.
Yeah I get that :)
8:09 I think that Ghost Ray had a Seizure
Haha it definitely looks like it :)
@@mayhulk7514 I hate floaters 😂
Once again, a phenomenal video, almost 10k subs :)
Thank you very much :) I can't believe all the support I'm getting from you guys!
Well hey, that does actually sound like a really good spot for a base :) ....that is if you can maneuver well with the prawn suit.
Oh absolutely :) one really does need to be properly prepared before going down there.

Bacon: trying to tell us about resources and fauna
Ghost ray: watch this 360 lol
Haha it did have epic moves tho :)
Oh I didn't even realize it was actually THAT long :)
The Lost River is my favorite biome.
It is definitely a cool biome! :)
Lol I saw that knife hit in there tht was a sick stream please do more thx love the content.
Ayyy was wondering how many people would notice that! :)
@@TheLastBacon it's the little differences
The research base is my favorite part of the lost river
It is an awesome area :)
In my personal opinion the enterence in mountains biome (It's more in bulb zone) is the most beautiful place in this game.
I certainly get that :) .....it is very pretty!
Everybody gangsta till the ghost leviathan start chargin'
Oh yeah - always turn my seamoth away real fast :D
You don't understand the relief I felt when I found the giant cove tree and knew I was safe.
Oh for sure :) love how that area provides a bit of a break between the river and lava zones.
I like that it’s full of the ghost rays, too! I like rays irl, and seeing them in Subnautica makes me happy :D

You spin me right round baby right round like a record baby...
...right round right round! :)
The Lost River just reminds me of the Thresh opening screen when he came out in League.
I can see why :)
almost all the entrances to the river have crabsquids guarding them, which are the scariest things in the whole game for me
They are certainly freaky! :)
Me before the first reaper Leviathan:I’m so excited to play this! Me after:I’m deleting this
Haha we've all been there :)
imagine you could get some uncooked peepers, go to the gun, eat he peepers, and then be able to deactivate the gun before sunbeam arrives
I mean....that actually sounds like a pretty solid plan :)
Tbh, i like lore
I love scp because it normally in scp videos has a ton of scp lore. This channel is perfect since i can just hear lore
And i also get scared easily so some scps i hate like “gorefield” scp and stuff like that so i would never play the game since i would never get close to completing it since i would quit the second i had to go down to progress
Thank you :) I'm really glad you like the vids!
