      I love everything about the Emove Roadrunner Pro, EXCEPT for the size and weight are not closer to the Roadrunner Tronic... and the handlebars do NOT fold down like the original Emove Roadrunner. Change those things, and you have created the close to PERFECT machine! How many agree with me?

      The LG M50LT cells aren't the "best available", the Samsung 21700 50S cells are rated for twice the current output and the same capacity.
      You guys need to test the Victor Luxury+! It has slightly higher power controllers at 32amps x2 instead of 30amps, longer deck, longer handlebars (both by 60mm), bigger battery (35ah), Nutt brakes, turn signals, horn and headlight. Also the 72V Bluetran lightning...

    • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  Год назад +8

      Thank you so much! That's a tough one. At full retail of $4k for the GT2 (Segway Store) I'd definitely go for the RoadRunner Pro. On the other hand, we've got a link to GT2's for $3,499 (geni.us/SegwayGT2) and at that price point it becomes a more difficult choice. The RR Pro is much faster, but the GT2 is quicker off the line. The RR Pro I could ride all day, but the GT2 is also pretty good (though not as good) for long rides. The RR Pro could be easily modded, the GT2 definitely not. Weight is the same to within a pound, and range is the same to within 1 mile, but I was riding a faster on the RoadRunner during the range test. Hard to go wrong with either one. -Paul

    Great review Paul! I have always liked the Roadrunner and was considering a base one for my wife but she prefers the Inokim Light 2 or E-Twow GT scooters she has available to her. It is much easier to deal with them and bring them into work versus a Roadrunner. I have actually tried that Rion version and it is insane. That along with the Extreme Bull are crazy fun but I still prefer my EUC for all my use cases. There are EUCs now that can ride at 50MPH+ fairly easily and can also sit down on them. I am fine staying in the 40s and having options for road or bike lane cruising around San Francisco.

If you want to legally ride euc then if you can register it as a motorcycle and pay insurance then you would be street legal. A registerd scokter could only go max 25mph. Eucs now can go over 50mph.

    My buddy got the base model version, and he hates it. We live in MN, so the road sucks. There isn't a back suspension, so the bumpy roads are extra bumpy. We also ride long distances (more than 30miles) and so if he has to charge, it takes 12 hours to fully charge. I'm glad they put extra suspension on for the back but I didn't see anything mentioning about the battery recharge. I hoped they fixed that. My buddy did consider getting the Roadrunner Pro when it was announced, but now he choose not to.

      It can be switched from mph to kmh easily. I haven't checked to see if you need to come to a stop to switch from single to dual motor or the other way around, but I'd recomment always coming to a stop first. It's a quick switch. The other thing you could do is program mode 4 to have very little front motor power. I'm pretty sure you can switch modes (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) while rolling, but can verify that too. -Paul

    I don't have one, but I was in a forum where the some of the people involved in development were active. I had been unhappy with my V1 Roadrunner (base model) but have been impressed with how they are moving forward and listening to their customer base and asking questions... I've seen oit first hand. I would recommend the Pro, but I also see some people have already had some issues. I think that may just be the way it is in the scooter world with first runs? I can't imagine getting a Segway and having issues out of the box. Anyway, this is phenomenal engineering, as long as the parts are good...

      @@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide ^^To be clear to anyone about my above statements... people tend to make it a point to complain about issues with something they've spent thousands of dollars on, even with minor issues. So, I'm not bashing the Pro model or OG Roadrunner... just saying I am learning that sometimes there can be issues in first production to be worked out... the scooter world isn't as fine tuned and long-term established as, say, the automobile or motorcycle industry... and there is SO MUCH out there. Look hard, no matter who's making what you're looking at! Look at the specific model and everything... who makes the cells in the battery!? Really do your homework... buy once, cry once.
      Also - after several months of adjustments and replacing a few tings, I made the OG Roadrunner a fun little scooter. People ask about it all the time...

      It fits in the 4Runner fairly easily. The biggest thing about it, is the bars are just sooooo wide. Once I chop 2 inches off of each side, I think it would fit easily into the back of a Subaru Outback. I'm really not sure about something like a VW hatchback though.
      It would be really easy to loosen the stem and twist the bars sideways or pop the head of the stem off of the stem, in which case it should fit into the back of the VW through the back with the seats folded down. Voro might know more though. The owner of Voro Motors was the one who clued me in to how much easier it is to load up than a Sur Ron (he has a Sur Ron around for research purposes :-) -Paul

You'll end up sitting a little further back, so you'll have a little more wheel-spin at the front wheel, but you can set the current to the front wheel lower if it's a problem. You could probably make some room by putting another set of footpegs further forward. -Paul

    This one might be my option when my Vsett 10 has given up or I feel it's time to change. It looks like it bigger than a scooter but smaller than a bicycle so it could fit in a apartment and not take up too much space which was one thing when I decided to buy a scooter.
    Wonder if this is suitable for using all year with nordic weather? Thinking about "light rain" protection although my Vsett 10 has so far not had any issues from both heavy snow and rain and been used all year. So maybe some light mods with silicone could improve water resistance idk just guessing at the moment.

When I bought a 94 Honda Magna 750 I knew immediately it fit like a glove, the ride for me no compromises. This I'm not so sure. I have VEO's rental seated scooters available and the pegs/foot positioning is perfect even if the seat is all wrong for me. Still waiting for the perfect seated scooter it seems.

    Important question: Does it have a V.I.N.? If it does need to be registered, and have a plate and such, it will need a vin.
    I have been in the market for an E-bike that can go 40+ MPH. But most are just too slow. I would like to commute about 30 miles round trip, on rural paved roads with speed limits from 25 to 45 MPH. My only other option is to drive my big Dodge van with a V-8.
    Another question (may have been covered but I missed it) is the range. Can it go 35 to 40 miles at an average of 40 MPH? Wait, Nevermind. I saw it at 16:32 in the video. 50 miles. That is very good, and besides I can plug in and recover some range during the 2 or so hours I spend at my destination.

    • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  Год назад +1

      I looked around while I was doing the performance testing for the video and didn't see one. I'm 90% sure there is no VIN :-(
      The specified range is 50 miles, but in my range test (linked below) I covered 32.3 miles before the battery cut off. That was running at speeds of 25 to 35mph. Range falls off quickly as you go faster, so you'd need two batteries (battery swap) to go 35 miles at 40mph. -Paul

      @@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide if I like sitting and standing equally, what would you say?
      The truth I do love standing, but there is a fatigue you get with standing even on the best suspension, design, controller, etc. I also feel like there is an undeniable safety factor that you get with sitting down and 14" tires, I just sorry that the suspension is going to be insufficient (I am 175" so maybe not).
      I absolutely love the suspension on the nami when I rode it, the adjustable dampening they use is amazing you can literally feel the difference from just the knob adjustments..
      So my question is, if suspension s absolutely critical to be buttery smooth for typical street riding, and I'm a custom to quality hydraulic suspension on both front and back, would this be an issue on the pro?

    • @son2soaringeagle
      @son2soaringeagle Год назад +1

      The real difference is in the cornering. A stand up scooter will never feel as connected to the road and flow through S turns with less skill or effort than the Roadrunner. Not even sitting down on one. The small tires, the weight distribution and body position Just wont allow it. The RRP is comparable to a sport motorcycle, even more so than your typical Ebike because the center of gravity, riding position and the rake. When you lean into a corner on a motorcycle, you are literally as close to being 'one' with the machine as possible. wherever it goes, youre going with it. When you take corners on a stand up scooter, or even in a car! your body (or parts of your body) is noticeably still trying to go in the opposite direction of the machine.

      Great question! The average speed during the Pro range test was 21.1 vs 19mph. The Pro is also about twice the weight.
