I am just about to place an order for an FM3 Turbo and I am a bit afraid of all the tweaks and settings I will need to make. I have just watched your video and it was very clear and useful. I will definitely go on with them, they will save me a lot of time and frustration. Thank you for creating these tutorials for us for free. In return, you earned my sub.
Thanks so much!! I have an FM3 on order and your videos will save me a lot of searching and frustration. Your first video already answered a lot of questions I had.
I'm so glad I found your channel these are great, thanks for doing these! My FM3 is on the way and I'm a Helix guy so a total rookie at Fractal. You have a gift for teaching. Just the right pace and not a lot of extra words :) I'll be watching all of these now
Hello Rosh, I promise that everything, thank you for dedicating part of your time to making educational videos about the Fractal FM3, my name is Felipe and I am another user of this wonderful processor and like all newbies I am in the task of achieving the best use for my musical needs. It turns out that I have the Boss ES5 controller from my old analog pedal board and I want to add it to the Fractal to have more options in the footswitches and I don't think that connecting it is the same as connecting an analog pedal and therefore I would like your help to in order to achieve this configuration. I have been looking for threads that allow me to obtain this information but I have had no luck. I look forward to your comments. From Bogota Colombia receive a cordial greeting.
Hi Rosh, First, Thank you for what you have put together in the Videos. I just purchased a FM3 and want to find a small, (pedal size) power amp that I can connect to a speaker or speakers. Thanks!
You'll need to first install the Windows USB driver from fractalaudio.com then connect the FM3 with a USB cable (any standard printer cable). Once you do this, install FM3 edit and/or fractal bot
thanks for the video! Is there a way to see what channel the effect block is on in a live situation? I mean, when you hold a button to switch channels, will there be a visual confirmation on the unit informing you that you are on channel A or B? If not, I find it quite useless in a live situation.
You can use the display footswitch and use one of the channel toggle or channel increment functions and have the footswitch display it. There will be a small bracket that looks like this: a [b] this would mean that channel b is selected in an effect block
Great video Rosh! I need to ask though, is there anyway to assign a FC12 switch to turn on/off any effect momentarily? For example, I need Tremolo effect ON only as long as I press the assigned switch. When I release the switch, I need the Tremolo effect turned off immediately. Thank you very much.
do any of the tutorials include instructions on setting up the FM3 with 3rd party footswitches? IE... Strymon 3 button switch, Morningstar pedals etc.?
I still have clients with the Ax8 I work with, however I probably won't be creating tutorials for legacy products at this time. If you need any help with an AX8, would be happy to help.
6:32 You mentioned there are different channels, but there are no different channel set in my preset No. 013. In the first place, all the channels are grey so I cannot select any. What went wrong at my side?
What visual indicator, if any, do you get when changing channels within an effect? In other words, do you have to remember which channel you're on? Could get dicey after several changes on all three effects without some clue. Can you use colors? Great video by the way, thanks!
Nice dude ! Thanks for made this video ! I want to ask , can you use the hold function as a mommentary switch like whammy? Or to hold or sustain the reverb or delay?
You feasibly could, but for that type of functionality I would actually recommend using the "momentary" function on the control switch. This will allow you to activate an effect, external controller etc (you can assign pretty much anything) and then it will stop when you release the switch
Hi Buddy amazing videos thank you ok. I can connect the avion inear system to the Kemper Stage {mini jack to avion headphone jack to kemper return L-R }to listen to the seq or tracks "for church or live perf" so i can listen exactly my guitar setup the way i set it up at home and it sounds the same because i plug my inears to the Kemper instead of the Avion System, can we do the same thing with the FM3? please say yesssss and show us 🤞Thank you in advance
You can use input 2 to send audio into the unit and then go out of output 2 into your in-ears or aviom. Just make sure to get the gain staging correctly
Hey Rosh, I'm trying to set up a simple preset with Effects on the FC6(OMG9) and I can't get the effects on the preset to override the global effects and appear on the FC6. Could you do a per preset video. I think this is what I need to do to make this work. Thanks. Love you videos.
On fm3 when you push on effect you have access to all effects on or off. They are in a certain order. Not usable easy. I need on the first screen drive, phase and chorus. I never changed the reverb on off for example in the middle of a song. Is there a way to change the effects order that apply to ALL presets and not one ny one ? Thanks for your help.
If you need effects order to change, I would recommend just using separate presets, especially if you're using the FM3 because you're limited on the instances of effects.
If you get one of the higher DSP units you can just make two parallel rows with different effects orders and switch between them using the multiplexer block
I seem to be missing something here. I created my own footswitch settings, everything worked consistently through different presets. However, the next time I powered up, my settings were gone. Why does this happen? I noticed that if I connect to FM3 Edit, and click FC Edit, my settings come back.
You may have the FM3 booting up to a different layout. You can find the "startup layout" in the FC-edit menu. Make sure that it starts up in the same layout that you adjusted.
Thank you so much for this series!
The Worship setup along with in-ears is gold!!
Always learning.
Cheers from Texas!

The seymour duncan powerstage 170 is a great small footprint option for power amps and cabinets.
@@RoshRoslin Got one ! thanks.

Would it be possible to do a video on the Fm3 and the OMG9 setup? Thanks!

I'll add it to the queue!

Yes, you can assign the bypass mode to a control switch and then use the "momentary" function on the switch in the drop down menu.
@@RoshRoslin Thank you sir! You are a life saver 🫶

I don't have any tutorials up, but I do use a third party two button footswitch with my FM3.
Dude. Give us an AX8 tutorial. Very helpful

If you look in the display function in the FC menu you can have the scribble strip also display what channel any effect is on etc.
Just ordered my mk2

Yes, I used the AX8 exclusively for many years. Contact me directly if you need any 1:1 help.
Are therese assignments per Preset or are they overall adnthen you can only chose a limited number ...
You can do either / or

Can you assign more than one effect to the same footswitch ?
You can assign a control switch and then set the bypass state on multiple effects to that footswitch.
Hey Rosh, may i ask why my footswitch setting on 1 preset is being copied to others presets as well?
Adjusting the footswitches in the layout affect all layouts globally. You should use "per preset" footswitches to affect only a specific preset
