insted of lowering the bonnet you can add a couple spacers under the gaurds to bring them up, its not uncommon on older cars to find packers under panels

I can't really do that now cause of those gs stripes

Don’t worry about the gaps to much Jase!!
When you put the power down you going to get chassis twist and it’ll line up just perfect 👌🏼

Haha. The part I don't like about the bonnet gaps are how you can see the top gaurds bolts 😕

Inspired me to get cracking on the XE wagon again. Pulled out the 302 and chucked it on the new engine stand. Shed's looking great too!

Looking awesome! Starting to look like a man cave. Some good progress on ur XB coupe, it's always annoying with the alignment issue of those Falcons. Especially if the front end had a slight hit damage in it's life. Good to see ya back! Mate. I always enjoy ur Vids.

Great to see you back mate. Always enjoy your vids. Pretty sure the grill needs to sit higher. It won't cure them all, but raising it will fix some of the side alignment issues.

The hoist is great. But after watching this, the other day, I saw one of those stupid posts about things gone wrong and there was a pic of a hoist that rhe posts had collapsed in. It tore the bolts out of the concrete. It made me think that maybe the spreader bar is more important than you think. It could be significantly de-rated now. Maybe ok now while the car is light. It's probably worth modifying the cross bar to suit the shape your roof. You did say the concrete wasnt that thick. Just something to consider. Cheers.

I have M20 dyno bolts that are really tight. Also braced the tops of the posts to the roof. I've tried to wiggle the 1900kg jeep grand cherokee and it hardly moved. It was definitely a concern but im happy with the hoist setup now 😎

If your blisters come back after your cut and buff I feel 4 you. Got it in my hr sucks it was a redo mainly because of rust in deep scratches from back in the day stripping with a grinder and 36 grit😮

I used course grit flat sanding disc on the escorts bonnet in the past, ruined the metal finish lol. Its been over 12months since the paint job. I recently had the xb in the sun, naybe that brought it on blisters 😑

Hi mate Am a bit advanced than you on my XBGT Hardtop replaced the bonnet hinges NOT like the originals too large and so to get enough lift had to grind the cabin end of hinges to gain lift they were catching on inner guard THEN had to widen slot where the bonnet bolts onto to get sideways movement,, NOT close to original at all and they the same no matter where you get them etc,, As you say when you adjust one spot it makes another worse grrrrrrrrrrrrrr,,, Remember ages ago you had those funny spaces when you was putting dash in you thought seatbelts lol Hope you put them in the steering column bolts they are a very primitive form of collapsible steering column,, Can you tell the viewers what anti rust treatment you used where you put it and general ideas I'm going to use penetrol its from bunnings in a tin or aerolsol cans been told its great john QLD.

Cheers mate. I've given up on the bonnet gaps for now. I spent a solid 8hrs trying to sort it out. I come to the conclusion that i should've spent more time before paint to get the gaps perfect. The rare spares lower guard replacement sections messed everything up well lol. My next upload I cover rust convertor i use. You can use anything really, just need clean really well before paint they say 😎
