Love hearing these stories… you guys are keeping not only the Petty legacy alive, all also the NASCAR legacy. Keep up the great research and work!!
Enjoyed the show....The Depression changed a generation of people ..i am 68 and my grandparents....were good hearted people....but never big on praise...but you learned to work....and show respect....and not waste....i remember my mother saying she wore dresses made out of feed sacks..back in the 40s....you did what you had to do...Much respect for Mr Lee....and family.
Lee Petty was definitely his own man . 😊
You guys are creating great content and documenting your family history. Your dad would be proud!😍
We appreciate it Logan!
Yes! I love watching these.
My father and mother grew up in the Great Depression. My father served 8 years in the Army during WW2. Both my parents were hard working and great people. The people that lived in the Great Depression lived the be Great people. God bless the Petty family.
That picture at the end with all your autographs. That was cool! Yall all have great signatures. I tried to pause it so I could see the picture real good. Another great show! I look forward to Petty Monday🏁
Appreciate the candid insight you offer even as each of you recall parts of memories while you are conversing. I found Marks admission that he still finds Uncle Richard intimidating - Amazing honesty and I thank you SO much for sharing your family memories & history with us.
You are so right about the depression leaving an indelible mark on people. My folks went through it, and I am lucky to have learned their ways.
1961 was the most important year in Petty Racing. After Daytona, Richard and Maurice met the pressure.
Feels like winning just hearing the stories from a different perspective! Enjoy all the episodes!
Pressure. Pressure forms diamonds and destroys dreams.
No doubt!
Thanks guys. I always enjoy your behind-the-scenes stories. Keep them coming.
One of the best ones you’ve done. Definitely need to get AD on there. He’s got some great stories. Glad I got to learn from him. Hell of a fabricator and mechanic
No doubt we definitely need to!
As a kid in the 70's in Thomasville, NC Richard Petty was our hero down the road. Glad to see this podcast - makes me feel like home. Give the sticker to somebody - I'm buying one anyway. (We all have a car in the garage that needs it )
Excellent, guys. That "pressure" cost The King part of his stomach (to ulcers). In '79 i LOVED the television "lead in" moments before that final race (Ontario). Ol' DW in his car, pulling his gloves up towards his elbows, then they cup to RP & he's scooting up in the drivers seat like he's just scooting up to the table for supper.
Another awesome video!! Ya'lls dad would have been the one I would have hated to disappoint! Like Kris said, he was the backbone of petty racing!❤
Another great show that brings back so many memories. You guys are always right on. Makes me feel like I am right there with you all. Hope you all have a blessed week.
Thanks Roger! Hope everything is good your way!!
I was 17yrs old at the time of that 79 Championship deciding race at Ontario & whilst sitting about half way up in the front stretch grandstands I watched my biggest sport's Hero Richard Petty WIN his 7th Cup! 😃!! I didn't walk out of OMS that day, I floated outta that awesome Racetrack, oh man, was I one happy 17yr old Petty Fan! 😁
Btw, do you guy's remember the massive roar from the stands, when Ol' Jaws spun out in turn 4? 😂
If I remember correctly Petty finished 1 position ahead of Waldrip. Possibly 7th & 8th
@@reginaldhall6871 Richard finished 5th, Ol' DW finished 8th 👍
Another classic! Nice work, guys! ✌🏼
Awesome show again guys! Love seeing the old ledger books. That tells an entire story on its own.
You guy's are awesome, thank's for sharing your family's history.
Another great video, thanks for making it guys! I'm around the same age as you guys (born in 1967) and I really relate to your stories and experiences. Keep up the great work gentlemen.

Man every time your intro video comes on just plays in my head for about 10 min every time love it and y'alls videos are so good thank yha fellas....
Life time Petty Fan y'all are the Best keep them video's coming
Great video. Id love to know how many things that Lee, Richard, and Maurice were forced to invent out of necessity that are now formalized and strictly regulated by NASCAR. I started watching in 81 and was always a Pearson and DW fan. I would love to have a chance to go watch a 60s or 70s race in person and tour the pits and garage. I've watched everyone i could find but id reckon being there was just surreal when today is compared back then. Thank y'all for the great history of the Sport, this fan really appreciates it.
Thanks boys, it's always good to hear from you.

I was a short track racer, There was a lot of pressure to finish well in the points, I can't imagine the pressure when it's coming from Lee, Maurice and Richard Petty.

Ÿou Guys are The Greatest name in Stock Car Racing!!! PETTY IS THE NAME!!! I met Richard Petty in 1976, when he was wearing a beard!!! He was just awesome, very nice person to talk to, I've always admired him in every way!!! I even have 10 pairs of his famed sunglasses made by Cool Ray Polaroid!!! He wore them from 1971-1983!!! I bought the Charlie One Horse Hat modeled after King Richard Petty!!! It came directly from The Petty, Special Thanks to Bonnie Davis, Museum Manager!!! Hopefully I can get my vacation time 2gether, like to make my appearance to The Petty Museum, to meet Richard Petty again!!! Mopar Nate, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

I had the same pipe, loved that thing, till I broke the mouth-piece. I'll have to hunt down Lee's old tabacoo too, give it a puff.
Randolph county people was always tough
nice story on histroy
Always enjoy these ! #41 #42#43
I might a miss episode but how did you guys do racing
The depression and WW2 made folks be frugal. They had to make the best of the resources they had. Ingenuity drove them to succeed.
I've always wondered what Kyle was told after races by Richard....
Here’s my comment, I hope I win!
The only sticker that ever looked finer was Petty Blue and day glo red, was oval shaped with 3 white letters in the center.
43 '74 Dodge Charger forever.
