I am wanting to start a crystal business but I decided to just start off by posting my own collection to start gaining an audience. I also am trying to trust wholesale vendors by buying small amounts of crystals to test the quality etc. I plan on learning more about crystals and info on starting a business then possibly open up my business at the start of September! Can you please elaborate on the tax part of this? Since it has to be done quarterly, when did you have to start filling it out? When you started buying inventory? Or when you made your first sale? Also, you’ve mentioned before that you’ve bought from yourself so that you don’t lose money, can you elaborate on that please? Thank you!

You are very inspiring :D I really appreciate what you said about ethically sourced crystals. It's SO sad, but your point about big corporations being the real problem is absolute fact. Great video! I just participated in my first live show from someone selling on Facebook. It was a very new experience and the seller was nice but the other people buying were being so petty😢 I guess it’s just part of the process. But you’re videos have been so helpful! Thank you for being so sweet!
Thanks for posting these. I had a bad experience with my first Etsy listing. It was a wholesale vendor list I put together from my previous business. There are thousands of listings and I sold 1 the first day and the next day it was removed by Etsy. They said it was not allowed and only items I make myself or vintage. I asked how thousands of others are selling these for years and I just put up 1 and was removed. They just said not allowed. Almost no one on Etsy is making or carving crystals, yet thousands are selling as handmade. I'm scared to sell there again unless I list as vintage, since they technically are. Any advice? Thanks!
Can you show a business side of packing a video most people want to see crystal picking videos but there is more to it then that I want to see everything invoices, packing labels etc
When you said it could take 6 months to 1 year to build great friendships with your supplier... than theres me over here buying for my own collection from a wholesale supplier and now we are so close within the first week 😭😭😭 ive boughten them stuff and they wear it everyday 😭 after only my second big order from them have I decided to make a sort of crystal business but wrapped jewelry they look after me to make sure i dont go over budget if its for my own personal collection but if its for my small business i want to make they have given me the support to help me with anything ill end up needing. I love them 😭 we have plans of visiting and touring eachother in our countries 😅 hows that for strong friendships 😩 lol id say we are bestfriends now for like a good 4 months 😂
Where do you send your crystal for testing to find out if the crystal is real or fake? I’ve heard you talk about sending them in. We have one we want to check but don’t know where to send
I have a question regarding taking photos of our crystals. What type of oil is safe to use on crystals that need a little more shine? Crystals such as quartz, jasper, agates. Also, thank you for posting videos like this, I've learned so much from your channel :)
@@johns6454 Idk about all that, I think crystals really gained momentum in general during the lockdown and with everything going on. I enjoy Barbie's videos and all the advice she has given us - both business and just crystal-related in general. If people feel called to sell crystals let them sell crystals; Etsy is becoming more and more saturated due to marketing - it's not just the crystals. Creating content is how you draw attention to your business. Her crystals are high quality, the advice and education on crystals in her videos are great, and when she shows off her collection or hauls she makes sure to credit the shops where she bought the crystals. She is passionate about what she does and enjoys sharing her love for crystals with the rest of us. I'm in the process of opening my shop - I don't expect to build an empire or anything but I am excited to turn one of my hobbies into a side hustle.
@@johns6454 I am not sure what wholesalers in China were charging prior to all this, but I've found a few that are reasonably priced and would allow me to make more than a decent profit. I also have a supplier in the US that I travel to for certain products - I have family there so I re-up when I visit them. Try checking out rock shops and lapidary clubs in your area. You might be surprised at what you can find in rock shops. I'm not sure where you live, but I know it can be difficult and frustrating trying to find a wholesaler in the US. It's usually going to be a trial and error process, but it is doable.

How has doing taxes for your shop been for you?
@@MsLiannne Pretty easy so far. Etsy keeps track of the info my CPA needs and provides a 1099-K once enough sales are made in a year. :]
