The other reason it is not and never was a blockade is the simple fact that there is a border passage between Gaza and Egypt Mr Finkelstein conveniently forgot to mention this fact. Regarding the terror channels the Hamas never attacked the Egyptians through the smuggling tunnels they did so to the Israelis and there was an immediate need to prevent these attacks, there was no time for digging and flooding, the Israeli Gaza border is much longer then Egyptian border with Gaza. The systematic, one sided inaccuracies made by Mr Finkelstein implies he is trying to please his audience who is conviced and one sided in the first place.
