Yep, props to Misha for also pointing out in the video to and how to appropriately report an accident. He doesn't wear a cape, but he's certainly our & the Ring's hero 😊
It's not on the limit of the car but very enjoyable lap to watch. No strange shifting, no crazy overtakes, just nice and smooth and perfect passenger lap👍
Misha, about to do a lap at the ‘Ring in a 340 kph supercar. Driver: “I’m not really familiar with the car, I’ve only had it for about three months.” Misha: 😮😮😮
I have both an Alfa and a BMW and, perhaps ironically, it's the BMW that keeps on failing me - the Alfa has been one of the most reliable cars I've owned 😂
I have a new appreciation for riding along with other drivers after the weekend at the track I just had. You don't know their abilities, you cannot predict their behavior, and it can be very frightening and nauseating at times! And I was in a much slower car than a 720S on a much flatter track than the Nürburgring! Much respect to you Mish!
It feels really fast from the video... The acceleration and the cornering speed are insane. The tyres did an excellent job, with no oversteer whatsoever.
Those are indeed tire temps in the display. The warnings light up around 6.45 to show temps are getting a bit too hot. You can also display the actual engine oil and coolant temps when in a different mode.
It's a shame they have issues, because McLaren are things of beauty... 720S is one of my favourite supercar of the recent years, IMO the design is clean & elegance both inside & out.
Personally I find them too "flat" looking idk how to explain but I mean their sheer performance is crazy ofc! It's sad they got quite some issues but maybe that's a reason to get two lol
Not sure if the car made the driver look good or the other way around but either way that was a very enjoyable watch. The 720S looks like an awesome car to drive!

Modern cars performance cars in the past few years have gotten really good at that. If you watch Shmee's track videos, you can see the Black Series does a phenomenal job at selecting gears and keeping the revs up appropriately. Much better than the days of cars upshifting to the highest gear as fast as possible, yet simultaneously having the worst flappy-paddle shifting experience you could possibly imagine.
We know by the smiles on Misha's face when its an English car, the same as when in the couple of Elise's this year, but 270kph through kottenborn is about the fastest ive seen.
Misha glad to see you again I was unsubscribed (not at my request) from the channel. I drove one on track yesterday. My God what a wonderful car. Staggeringly quick, beautiful steering, handling and doesn’t look too shabby either. Dream car. Just a shame about the reliability and diabolical McClaren attitude to their customers.
Possibly the most remarkable thing about that was it appears to have been done with the gearbox IN AUTOMATIC. Driver didn't use paddles at all from what I saw. Don't believe I've EVER seen that in any of your vids. Have to say I think it did a pretty damn good job.
Misha just watched this video and then a on-board from another car that had an accident then saw this orange flash go past in the back ground. Glad you managed to miss both the cars involved!!
very impressive , quick and smooth.... seems almost F1 like. I did a goggle search and the time is 7:08? hard to believe a Camaro ZL1 1LE is only 8 or 9 seconds slower.
I think maybe they don't do laps because the 720s 765lt are probably not much slower than the senna around the track. I pretty sure the 720s is faster than a P1 in some places around the world. But price wise it's pretty huge difference. Maybe customers would question whether to spend the Extra.. I think Lanzante lapped a P1LM doing 6.42 Maybe 720s could be faster?
@@fruitygranulizer540 No, modern automatics are better at knowing when to shift, Misha covered it pretty well in other videos, especially in exotic cars or high performance cars, you leave it in drive (in sport or race mode) and don't bother to shift the paddles.
I don't get the 'McLarens aren't reliable' argument. I have owned many of them and never had problems as long as I drove them a bunch. Sure, some lights popped up on the dash, but I always just ignored them and they always went away on their own.

crazy that in auto it goes to the rupter to change gear 8500rpm !! and off throttle I was expecting to go down few gears but no stay in gear. i guess it's in track mode or something for the gearbox.
@@paradox5556 I guess it's also normal they can't do a lap without overheating ;-) the max power is 7500 for this engine, so why go to 8500 ... makes more heat for nothing to me...
@@jesuismika think about the rpms in the next gear. They will be higher the later you shift, thus in the powerband. Also, gearing is a thing and shorter gearing = more acceleration with the same hp, so shifting later, again, is superior.
@@paradox5556 I thought about it before posting, I'm not entirely convinced because you still have more torque low down, shifting at 7500. in 3 to 4th at 7500 going down to about 5800 you have 757nm and 8500 to 6200rm you have 741nm. So yeah not entirely convinced by the "stay in the power band" explanation and the shifting light blue light by Mclaren lights up at precisely at 7500rpm, so I guess the engineer thinks more like me in manual, not sure why this in auto to not shift up before a corner or something and then go down two gears maybe. Or maybe it shifts if you let off the throttle like more traditionnal automatic.
@@jesuismika torque is not what dictates acceleration though. Horsepower is closer, as its basically torque x rpm, hence more hp at higher rpm with similiar torque. Adding gearing into that, lower gear is highly superior in accelaration to a higher gear.
