    I heard the carnotaur was supposed to speak a few lines during the end fight on the cliff but the writers decided that it would be too creepy to have them speak out of nowhere. In all honesty that would’ve been creepy and cool at the same time

    I can see why these were taken out. The 1st one: Scavengers isn't quite as suspensful with the reveal that the herd is being followed so they changed some angles, nothing too big though.
    The 2nd one: Eema gives up, is essentially a waste of time so scrapping it is smart.
    Neera saves the infants in the 3rd clip: This would actually be a great character moment for Neera, but it paints Kron in a more sympathetic light, and I think the idea was to portray him as stubborn until the very end where he eventually get's himself cornered, and for us believe that his death was mostly his own fault, but the effect would have been lessened if this scene was included where he puts his stubborn ideas and pride aside to help his sister.
    4: Alternate ending, I can see why they went with this innitially, to put the virtue of sharing at the forefront, which was obviously a big point to this movie along with not leaving anyone behind. But, they decided to do a callback to the beginning of the movie where Cloe opens up the dinosaur egg like she did with Aladar
    5: This scene you can actually since the influence on the other scenes in the movie. Like Kron telling Bruton to keep the heard moving, Aladar scaring Emma, stuff like that. I think they managed to cut the fluff out by dispersing the time spent on the animation into other scenes.
    6, Bruton Attacked: (lol they used 3 Kron models as placeholders). This could have actually been really creepy - the idea of walking right into the feeding grounds of a Carnotaur. However, this scene implies that there were three when there were only 2. So I guess they slightly adjusted the scene later down the line.
    7: No real reason to kick this scene honestly, but I guess they figured that with all the scenes of cutting back to the Carnotaurs eating something that they had driven the point home that people were dying during the march well enough without showing someone straight up collapsing dead.
    8: I think the scene was written decently and has good symbolism between Gotama and Aladar, but I guess they slowly decided to write Gotama out of the script.

      Raykushi I wish they would’ve at least keep some of them. But I agree, some of them were kinda pointless

    • @bobcat24
      @bobcat24 6 лет назад +49

      Raykushi As for #3, while I do agree it may have taken away a little from Kron, I feel that it would’ve given Neera more reason to try to save Kron from the carnotaur in the final battle on the cliff. Without it, it feels rather forced for Neera to mourn over the carcass of her butthead brother. Yea it’s her brother, but wow he was very dogmatic. And without that clip, he seemed like an a**hole with hardly any justification or redeemable qualities.

    • @Ozraptor4
      @Ozraptor4 5 лет назад +26

      #7 Biggest reason I see for deleting this is it makes Neera look racist. The collapsed Stygimoloch scene originally segued into Neera encouraging the two exhausted baby Iguanodons to keep going. The scene could be interpreted as Neera giving preferential treatment to her own species, while oblivious to the plight of the other dinosaurs.

    • @Gojiragon
      @Gojiragon 3 года назад +7

      You can also argue that scene number one had more gorier elements, the POV of the corpse being eaten, the Carnataurus immediately snapping at the body. Plus what you said.

    Note to Disney: instead of updating/rebooting perfectly FINE classics, why not give movies like this a 2nd chance?! It’s legit deserving of it both in storyline & scientific accuracy!
    There’s very few Dino movies centered on the critters being the main protagonists/anthropomorphized vs just being plot devices/obstacles/movie monsters aside from Land Before Time! & The Good Dinosaur was a major letdown!
    We know more about dinos than ever before! Use that as an advantage! Take a gamble! There’s millions of phenomenal paleoartists out there! Show us dinos like we’ve never seen them before; with a scientifically rooted anthro twist! That was wasted on the lion king because lions r still around! We watch them on Nat Geo! Talking realistic animals that nobody’s ever seen before with a borderline uncannily human presence in an almost alien world ... however.... that takes some real imagination & studiousness!

  • @SxVaNm345
    @SxVaNm345 6 лет назад +105

    The History of Old Gotama would’ve actually been quite a neat concept for a storyline continuation bonus. I was thinking maybe Old Gotama was the first dinosaur, or rather the ancestor/predecessor to all the dinosaur species. I was also thinking that his/her legend of finding the Nesting Grounds was passed down to the locals in the region through oral tradition, and then through them to other animal species. Was he the Saviour/Founder/National Icon for the inhabitants of the Nesting Grounds? Did he boost foreign tourism & settlements in their lands? xD Nah, But srsly...
    If Disney added a story of how Old Gotama was one of the first animals to walk on land outside of the Ocean after the Carboniferous period, that he strongly encouraged other species used to marine life to step outside of their comfort zones, and why his influential role/mark on Earth history is going to be cherished by all generations of species until the Sun’s explosion of our Solar System in the far distant future occurs, or something along those lines...
    I would definitely pay Disney some partition money, just so they can include that new bit of scenery in their next instalment of this nostalgic film!!! 😁😁🐲

Traditional animation is a lost art, just barely kept alive (outside of places like Japan) by dedicated fans and the companies willing to indulge them, if only slightly.

    There were some inaccuracies in this movie regarding the dinosaurs, but overall it was great! The Carnotaurus model that was used for this movie seemed too bulky, large and seemed to have the physique of a T. Rex. In reality Carnotaurus was much smaller than this, and it was a lean and fast Abelisaurid. Iguanodon was actually much larger than Carnotaurus. The Velociraptors in this are the correct size, but they lacked feathers, which is something most Dromaeosaurid theropods had. Instead of Carnotaurus, they should have used either Acrocanthosaurus, Giganotosaurus, or even Allosaurus. And, instead of Velociraptors, bigger raptors like Deinonychus or Utahraptor could have been used to make these scenes more intimidating.

      Have you also noticed that the plot of Dinsey's Dinosaur is a bit too similar to that of Universal's The Land Before Time?

      But dinosaurs don't have feathers and this was debunked by many paleontologists and other scientists

      And there is no evidence of Dinosaurs having feathers

    Very nice man! =D This is one of my favorite Disney movies(: I wish they would've kept some the deleted scenes in the theatrical release. Some of them gave the story more depth, while others were funny or dark.
    But I’ll admit, there were a few that didn’t really add much of anything substantial.

      I was there. I saw the story boards. The original story emphasized a "Passing of the Torch" theme of global dominance from the Dinosaurs to birds and the mammals (the lemurs), and eventually to us humans. In the test footage, the male lemur is named "Adam". It wasn't until two years into production that it was decided that the story was too dark for Disney. The only thing that survived the original boards was a shot of the bird/dinos flying in the opposite direction from where the meteor is about to hit.
