The game has just been out, it amazes me how people jump to conclusions when not even a fraction of possibilities have been discovered with the character/kameo combinations. As always NRS players are lazy to figure stuff on their own and would rather copy someone else, which creates a bandwagon of players chanting for an overly used character to get nerfed
Low saw is godlike. it recovers instantly. its plus. used for pseudo unblockable setups. plus you can technically combo off forward grab if you set up low saw. but the timing is soo tight.
@@prsuave420 plus in the corner you can just throw out low saw if they block they at disadvantage and if they get hit you can combo with 121. no need to hit confirm it literally covers both options.
Did you know he was a Johnny main originally back in mk9? He played on xbox so i was able to play him once in ranked even though im from norcal in the US. It was a good match tho. I played Lao.
I main Lao, and I think he pairs better with Stryker. Strikers overhead is +6 which jails into Laos mid launcher, which if blocked you can make yourself safe with strykers grenades. Or you can just do one hit, cancel into his up dive kick ex, and drop down with a kick or punch for more pressure into throw. Lao is a monster. But I'm on Xbox and haven't been able to show him off in vids or streams. He's awesome

Hey foxy thanks for this. I have some combos with Lao using the Jax Kameo and I like how you utilize the low hat for mix ups, combo starters and to some degree combo extender. This is why this game is great! Every kameo opens up new and creative possibilities.
Kung Lao cutting a guy's legs off with a bladed hat, then killing him with the same bladed hat with a strike to the head and saying, " You will not be remembered," is lowkey one of the wildest things.
just got mk1 yesterday and have been loving it and i chose kung lao as my main and have 1 kombo! definitely will watch your videos to learn more kombos for him.
Lao/Lao is godlike. He gets a decent anti air off s1/2/4 assist spin. Low saw pretty much makes the whole 212 string plus. Low saw recovers instantly. you can literally low saw then buzzsaw by the time your buzzsaw recovers your low saw assist already recovered as well. and he gets pseudo unblockable setups or make your f2 safe.

You didn’t test it off ex headlock, can’t escape it there. You could call reflect but that’s still a summon, so it’s not a guaranteed answer. Still a mind game though, Lao doesn’t have to commit to anything, he can just let the hat do the work and bait the tele.

I planned on Lao/Lao the second I saw it was an option, I’m so glad it’s as good as I anticipated. I do wish I could see more Teleport practicality, but every time I see someone use it there’s just a wide open opportunity for the other player. I miss the MK11/MKX Lao teleport.
@@nicklattimorecomedy5497 Yeah, I definitely wasn’t a pro, but would compete regularly at a God level in KL. That teleport switch up was useful in clever tight spots, especially with Buzz Hat.
Maybe try Baraka, Raiden or Mileena I'd just say pick whoever you like though, cause you're gonna want to learn them eventually, and the only way to learn a specific character is to play that character
Hey Foxy, would this concept work with Shao aswell? His overhead without his axe is 16 frames (from memory) and bounces the opponent. Lao is already good with Shao for the overhead combo with teleport
This looks pretty rad. I’ve been having a real problem deciding on who to play. I am trying Johnny but I feel like he has no mix. It’s like everyone has mix or even just 50/50s except him. And he’s entirely reliant on kameo where others are less so. Where would you put lao on your tier list now? Hated seeing Johnny in BOOTY 😕😕
You have to respect a good Cage, hes still mega oppressive, all the characters rely on their kameo too so I wouldnt worry too much about it, but I see what you mean. I think Lao is up there right now though, hes putting people in disgusting blenders

@@howdydoodydoo3631Raiden has no mix. He does stupid damage if you get opened up but most times I play Raiden they literally NEVER open me up unless they make me whiff and punish me for it. Think cage is better than him and I use Raiden lol
only issue i have with the game is how easy the combos are to land and how much the damage output is, i can do a 50% meterless combo with smoke with little to no difficulty. the reason its my biggest issue is because one slip up and someone can can do a low combo hit and immediately go into a cameo which just sets them up so easily to a 50-80% combo
Thats how it’s played at the highest level. You make one mistake and that could cost you the match. Thats why sometimes there can be periods of zoning in a match, neither player wants to make a mistake.
@@AlexStayFly20 theres two ways you can set it up, either standing 3 into a b sareena, or how i like to do it a f32 into a sareena because its a low, then you dash into a 3,2 and another 32, dash into a f12 grab, then go into an enhanced smoke port, into a 1,1 and then another ex port into a 112
