      Him editing the tweet, removing the minor part is one of the parts that convinces me he is fully aware of the age. I am pretty sure if he didn't know he would put it on his statement that is a no brainer. that's why it is wild to me that people keep arguing over that shit

    • @fullenergika
      @fullenergika 3 месяца назад

      People who can't tell the difference between a 6yo girl and a 17yo, calling a man doing actual things with a kid and a guy texting with a 17yo, both "p*do" are actually as creepy as guys like Epstein and Co.
      Beside, you have to be 18+ to chat on whisper (at that time at least), so who's at fault?

    • @CLARENCErr
      @CLARENCErr 3 месяца назад +20

      Without a doubt he knew the age. It just comes down to whether the "inappropriate" topics they discussed were sexual or not.
      And I think if they were, twitch would not have protected a predator and the 17 y/o girls parents would have pressed charges for any sexting.
      Otherwise, his wife willingly staying with a known cheater and a potential predator is just CRAZY... 🤣

    • @Michael-pi8ps
      @Michael-pi8ps 3 месяца назад +3

      Also I’m pretty sure Doc would’ve at least seen the persons profile picture. I’ve never used the whisper feature but i can’t see Doc getting into “steamy conversations” with an empty profile pic. And if he did that’s only weird not really illegal.
      Also twitch would’ve read through the messages and if/when the chatters age was brought up matters. If their age was discussed at the beginning of the first convo that’s worst case scenario. Did Doc ask about the age or did the other person say it? That matters too.

    • @Neil-qg9cw
      @Neil-qg9cw 3 месяца назад +15

      @CLARENCErr Does it? I think any 38yo man sending 'inappropriate' messages to a 'minor' is gross and blatant grooming behaviour. I don't think we need to know what he said at all. I also don't think it's that surprising that his wife is staying around when she put up with cheating and is clearly about the bag. He's the gravy train and she knows that.
      Edit: Also, why do you have faith in who Twitch would protect? They have never shown a strong moral backbone. They are a company beholden to their shareholders. Releasing the info or going to the police would lower Twitch's value and do basically nothing to help them. Keeping it hush did not hurt them for 4 years until it was leaked. I highly doubt Twitch wanted it's newest feature to be in news stories about one of its top creators using it to groom minors. You really think Twitch would want that bad press? Also no crime was actually committed unless he solicited a meeting and actively went there, so the family can't charge him for anything. Clueless defence.

It doesn't go away, you still did it, it's not something you just shrug off like getting caught using hacks in a game. Co-Streamers are bailing, sponsors are blacklisting faster than The Flash, nobody is going to want a self-admitted minor-chaser on their platforms. He admitted to sending messages to a minor, and he suggested the messages leaned into the inappropriate. Twitch and Midnight Society both clearly think they were inappropriate without qualification. Doc’s only recourse would be to release the messages and prove they are much ado about nothing. But given the actions taken by Twitch and Midnight Society, I highly suspect they’re more inappropriate than Doc has been willing to admit.

  • @sygneg7348

    A really bad part of it is that literally almost everyone was with him the day prior, attempting to defend him and saying there was no evidence, and how it looked as if he was going to survive the allegations because of the shady stuff his accusers had done; he had everything in his defense, and if he lied, he could've managed to silence the situation and keep himself off the radar. The only thing that brought this in flames was the fact that he literally admitted to it; if he didn't, perhaps we would have continued to think of him as innocent and not known the actual truth/story.

    No, they do get in any trouble for reading personal messages. They actually are obliged by law to have systems in place to be able to access and monitor that kind of content. It really surprises me that people make comments regarding "accountability for accessing private messages"... because if people just made a small mental effort they would realize that if that was not the case then all kind of criminal organizations would just exchange messages in twitch or in games. Why use a phone that could be tapped if you can just dm someone in twitch and telling him you are gonna drop the mayor or something...
    And just for the record, it is not like they are checking every single message that is sent from every user, 99.9% of the cases they do not . Messages are only accessed and verified if they either trigger some automated system or if there is a credible report regarding an incident.

In all the legal documents the minor would have been anonymous and her messages would be redacted. Twitch like all companies have morality causes in the contracts so they definitely didn't pay him if he violated it. All the former twitch employees who can't talk cause of NDA's, these NDA's are from Twitch. A person who gets caught by their employer doing something against the law can't then sue their employer to get unpaid salary and make the employer not be able to talk about it. I really think the messages themselves are probably a lot more incriminating than we assume they are just because he was never formally charged or investigated by law enforcement, which he probably should have been. I'm willing to bet the victim's age was a factor in Doc wanting to "flirt" and "meet up" with her too. I think what Doc saw on stream when he checked his phone were the screenshots of the Twitch Whispers chat log, and he was given an ultimatum of something like "Stop streaming and take 24 hours to craft a statement admitting guilt or these screenshots of the chat get leaked", because that dude PANICKED when he got those messages. Everyone thought it was Midnight Society saying they were dropping him, but tbh I don't think Doc would care that much about that. The way he froze up and had difficulty articulating himself is more like a "gotcha" moment, and I'm sure that whatever convinced all of Doc's partners to drop him immediately was what he was looking at on his phone when he got that message at the end of his stream. They probably saw the girl gave her age and that Doc not only continued making inappropriate advances, but was serious about hooking up at TwitchCon, which is why in his statement he tries to plead the angle that there wasn't any "serious intent" behind his messages because if they did leak to the public and people saw what he was saying, he'd have a very hard time convincing anyone that he wasn't actually trying to meet up with a minor....
