Thanks Mark, good tips as per usual. Can’t fathom how you get any negative comments!
Thanks Ian. It happens. I think people have expectations they create and then become upset when those expectations don't pan out the way they want them to and lash out.
My personal feeling is that this delivers on what it says it will do. And the stories and learning process that I outline in it truly happened and affected my playing in a real way.
In any event, I appreciate the support!
Good lord, the haters are out and about! I have struggled to play stuff for this exact same reason, I think this a great video! Thanks Mark!
Thank you so much! (And yes, a couple of people were clearly upset things. I think they'll survive. LOL!) Thanks for the support!
Great video, and hepful as always, Mr. Z. The greatest lesson truly is, "Keep on learning." Even at my age, I'll never be out of school, for guitar, or anything else.
And R.I.P. to your friend, and my condolences. However long ago he passed, it's always just yesterday. You know I understand. My brother, and nearly everyone I knew, all gone to that big gig in the sky. The friends of our youth are the ones that make the biggest difference, and leave the deepest wounds when they leave us. 🎸😢
Thanks, I appreciate it. Yeah, Ray was a great friend. A different sort of person who was often misunderstood. He was something like 6'6", 300, but just a super-nice guy.
It happens to all of us, as you note. Thanks for the support!
It's true. I could never play the main riff to AC/DC's Back in Black. After months of trying to play one of the solos in Fade to Black (Metallica) I went back and was able to do the AC/DC riff!
I had a similar experience with Led Zeppelin’s The Rain Song
That said I love taking a song I like and playing it differently than the original
That also helps with ideas for new songs.
Enjoyed the video
Thanks! Yes, I enjoy that too. Each of our hands (and minds) come at guitar and music in different ways. It's fun to find the right pieces that fit our own puzzles!
Good review - what an absolutely fantastic record this one is! 👍
Absolutely excellent content and I loved the 'graphics' showing exactly how to play it, also enjoyed the friendly and relaxed presentation, thanks!
My pleasure. Thanks for watching!
3:00 - That’s officially called a mondegreen! They happen all the time in music of all sorts… Another great example is “I'd Really Love To See You Tonight,” by England Dan & John Ford Coley-MANY people (myself included) have misheard the lyric “I’m not talking about moving in” as “I’m not talking about the linen.” 😂
I always thought it was "I'm not talking about meridian things".
Yes! That one had me for years. I thought it was, "I'm not talking 'bout the livin' ".
@@MarkZabel Even WORSE is Rick Astley, singing:
“Then I’m gonna give you up
Then I’m gonna let you down
Then I’m gonna run around and desert you
Then I’m gonna make you cry
Then I’m gonna say goodbye
Then I’m gonna tell a lie and hurt you!”
When I heard this, I used to think, “WOW, what an incredibly SADISTIC guy!!!!!!!”
Same song. Instead of "There's a warm wind blowing, the stars are out" I hear "There's a warm wind blowing the stars around"
@@mb3799 That’s what I hear, too!
Always a refreshing experience watching your video's!!! Thank you so much!!!
Glad you like them!
Thanks Mark, all your lessons are insightful with brilliant concepts & reachable goals! 👋🖤🦋🖤
Glad you think so!
Merry Christmas nice job!!!
Thanks! Merry Christmas to you as well!
Love your videos, and appreciate you sharing whatever knowledge and experience you have with us. Keep on being you brother! We appreciate you!
Thanks! Will do!
Good video Mark! I've noticed this a bit when I go back to an old song I had trouble learning. Still, so many I'm having trouble with lol!
Thanks!
This is a great lesson for so many things in life, not just guitar!
Thanks!!
I’m surprised about the negative comments. Anyway thank you for creating your videos and sharing your knowledge.
So nice of you. Thanks Cary!
I remember reading somewhere all practice is global. In other words, if you decide to learn finger style, your picking will improve also. Focus on jazz? Your country licks will improve.
Yes. It's not one-to-one of course, but it makes you a better musician and that's bound to affect your play in other areas. Plus, there's just so much good music out there!
Eugene's Trick Bag on Songsterr has a 29th fret. Kiko or MAB might have the guitar.
No more no more made me want to play guitar! I play it in open E5 tuning. EBEEBE I think Joe Perry uses that Tuning?
It could be. Open E only differs from E5 tuning if the G-string is played. So it doesn't matter in the opening riff. Either way, it's pretty neat how easy it makes the riff!
I used to think Clapton was saying she don't like cocaine 😂. I heard a story of a guy thinking it was she gonna buy cocaine.
There’s this song I like but at one point the tab says5 fret a string, 10th fret G string I can no more reach that then fly to the moon. My hand just is not big enough then you gotta go. 595755.
Never trust tabs. It's important to find ways that work for your own hands.

I was hoping for a great secret. Basically he says learn new stuff to play old stuff better. But he got a view and a comment. But not a like.
I'm pretty clear it's a "simple" secret. I didn't mince words. And not simply "new", it must also be different.
Dumb comment. Thinking about using an open tuning was a smart connection by MZ, and a good tip.
Haters gonna hate.
Bullshit
How so?
Go listen to some Satriani or some such shit
