    The cuts and throwing away the wet stick gave me anxiety lol! But you’re adventurous with your plants and that’s your right, you bought them 😊 You really helped me because I have a one leaf rooted cutting (let’s not go into what I did to get down to just one leaf) and I thought it was hopeless until I noticed a green nub. You explained it will become a new plant and now I’m excited! Thanks 👍🏾

      This gives me hope bcuz I've had 2 cuttings for a couple months now & their going a new leaf but has yet to produce ANY roots!! I just don't understand at all!!

    Any updates or advice? I have a standleyana aurea cutting I can't get to root 😫 it has numerous nodes and nothing from any of them for like 2 months idek how it's still alive but now I'm starting to stress. I just unwrapped the moss and added rooting powder 😮‍💨🤞I've never had such a hard time propagating before.

    I’m curious to know if you keep all your cuttings warmer than usual? Or are you so successfully because of the warmer time of year that you prop.

      @kevin.  3 года назад +1

      Hey latoya! I personally propagate all year round. It is usually recommended to propagate in the spring/summer but I've had success over the winter. Keeping the area warm is the key with lots of light.

    Loooove your videos. You deserve way more likes and views than some of the other people I follow. Could you maybe do an episode on notching monsteras? Or another plant you can notch to encourage bud activation?

    • @kevin.
      @kevin.  3 года назад

      Aww thank you so much Stephanie 🥰. When you mean "notching", do you mean air layering? Or am I totally off 😂😂😂

    • @femmebitale
      @femmebitale 3 года назад +1

      @@kevin. there’s this technique where you cut the stem like two thirds of the way through but keep the other one third attached, and then put like a piece of plastic where you cut to keep it from healing... and it’s supposed to activate dormant buds in each node you notch. I’m sure you could probably air layer at the same time. It seems like the kind of plant science you’d be into!

      Okay cool! I just wanted to make sure I understood 😅. That would be a very interesting experiment! Thanks for suggesting! I recently went on a propagation spree and I'm running out of mature plants 😬 but I definitely want to try this is I have the opportunity. Thanks again! 😊

    As I always enjoy your propagation videos, one suggestion: maybe you can change the cover part of your videos? It seems a bit long (9s) and loud without any info except your logo. Maybe add some pics of your collection, or make it shorter?

      Thanks for the feedback! I've wanted to change it for a while now but I'm stuck on ideas and my creative juices are not giving me any good ideas 😅. At the very least, I'll make it softer in future videos until I make a new one

      That's exciting! I've heard that sometimes these plants are challenging to root and I've had to be patient myself 😅

    Hi there! What fertilizer do you use for your leca plants? Thanks!

    Where do you buy your net and cache pots? Particularly the one at the end you had the coir pole in. I have the other one you shows from Amazon but I am starting to need slightly larger ones. Thanks in advance :)

  • @lilnatcat
    @lilnatcat 2 года назад

    I regret having mine wrap around a moss pole, it’ll look so much better if I just had it grow straight up the pole, propogate and then plant it back in same pot for a bushier looking plant. Still too cold in Syd so waiting for spring!

    Did you propagate in plain water?

    You chopping your plants gives me anxiety. Like watching those videos in a Halloween scare house, and the friend is hiding behind their equally terrified friend for protection. Also #100%notjudging, but I love the morning after party feel in the whole video 😂. And lastly is that a standard Standleyana or a variegated one?

    • @kevin.
      @kevin.  3 года назад +1

      Omg you totally feel me. I felt that energy too after I edited it 😂😂😂. I almost didn't upload it. Tbh I see variegation but it almost never spits out variegation. And I'm always used to seeing white+green when it's variegated.

      @@kevin. super late to the party here (heh) but if it helps, that vibe is what made me feel like this was a friend teaching me about their passion, and taught me things those hyper-edited, extra-professional-planty-expert types haven't managed to teach me, just by being relatable. thank you!

    New subscriber here! Just turned on post notifications gonna share your video as well. I watched the pink princess one and it was really helpful. I liked it but waited for another video that I would need. And there you go haha! There it is hehe I just got one and now I exactly have the video to help me propagate it. Thank you very much.

      Thank you so much!! I'm glad my videos helped. Haha my heart still stops a little everytime I chop up a plant 😬 but it's worth it most times 😂. All the best with your propagations. Make sure they're in a place with tons of light.

    This was the motivation I needed to chop mine - at least once, even just to promote growth from the mama plant! Haha

    This is really hard to watch.. You obviously care about your plants. Maybe try to be more careful when propagating. If you think the nodes are too close and there's a chance you are cutting too close, just don't cut. I mean, this is just my opinion though. You do great otherwise. The only other thing I would say is when you first cut a plant, it would be better to put in just straight water because there's no roots to soak up the nutrients anyways. Plus you could do more damage giving the plant too much nutrients/nutrient shock.
    Anyways, that's just my advice. ❤
