For winterizing of a Rotax in the owners manual, it's recommended to fog the engine. I have found a repair shop that will run rv antifreeze through the heat exchanger if it is not stored in a climate controlled area or outside. A question I have is anyone running a fuel water separator on their rotax, if so any side effects with fuel pressure. Thanks for the video. Would be interesting to see a video on running shallow water on the river.
Good stuff Joe. How does the weight of this fully decked out 1972 compare to your previous 1872s? Can you tell any difference in how deep it drafts or runs while on plane? Theoretically the more water displacement should help it float higher in the water depending on the weight comparison. Thanks in advance Joe! Always appreciate your input and experience.
@@mikefaupel9172 good point. We figured the extra length probably only added about 80 pounds. The boat definitely floats shallower and runs slightly shallower
You touched on uhmw vs skidplate. Any idea how the regular .190 without anything would hold up for someone who's trying to save weight but may still hit an occasional rock?
Sounds like it's still going to be stronger than a mass produced sheet boat. Ie. Lowe or seaark. .125 5052 v .190 5086 at a similar weight. That's a major selling point.
Thanks Joe, it worked out great fishing with you before I put in the finals specs on my boat. Money and time well spent. The fish were just a bonus.
Great video Joe, those boats are awesome.
Very informative video Joe, thanks for taking the time to answer people's questions.......

@@jraymond115 That's a beautiful thing.
I’ll make my customization list real simple for rock proof, just duplicate joes boat . Just a diff color 😊
@@jessegregory4428 that makes it easy! This really is the most comfortable and best performing shallow water fishing boat I have ever been on.

@@ianmcardle4592 if it’s 5086, it can take an occasional hit but you can’t go cranking on it.
