Thank you once again for the incredible experience, Uncle YS! Your driving skills are truly impressive. It's likely the only occasion in the car's lifetime that it will be driven with such expertise!
I've been like considering this car since its debut several months back, and really want to know what a pro impression might say about it. One of that pros being is my fave reviewer YS. So really grateful that it's finally here. Thanks!
This is a quiet car, even driving at such speed we can still hear your conversation clearly. Quiet also on the the road as it doesn't shout I'm here, give way to me kind of aggressive car. A quiet dog that can bite.
I have been really impressed with the looks of the new Chery cars. Waiting for a reliability report sometime in the near future. Since it's just made available not long ago, it's fair to give it a year minimum.
Great car but the owner looks a bit scared and probably regret by letting Uncle Khong to do a test drive ha... ha... afterall Uncle YS Khong is a damm good driver. I salute. 😊
No regrets here, not a single one!😂 It was truly a one-of-a-kind experience. I had total faith in his driving - but let me tell you, seeing a 1.7-tonne large SUV being pushed to its limits was like watching a ballet dancer do weightlifting. Definitely caught me by surprise!

@@slowsloth8550 I'm from South Africa aswell the Awd version is bad aswell the car losses power sometimes and conering wise its not soo good but better than other cars great performance but from a standstill it doesn't launch very fast a Polo Tsi can actually launch better than me but after dat it picks up with somehow lil bit of jerking
Good review. Nice interior. Loads of power & tork. How’s d handling compared to d x70? How’s d DCT compared to d x70? Thnx for asking d all important question of fuel consumption! Tiongkok cars r certainly pique-ing my interest!
Uncle YS was really careful in his choice of words since the owner himself let him do this test. If it was still on the shitty stock tyres, there would be slightly more horror to the drive (that uncle YS will surely make it arrive safely anyway). I do agree that this Tiggo 8 Pro need AWD to make the 2.0T more controllable (I have tested it myself; the family was scared shit when I floored it briefly, too much understeer). It was in my shortlist, but swiftly struck out after that test drive. Good luck Terry!
When unker started the hill climb and made the 1st right turn @ 11.00, the tires gave way abit. Unker quickly realise and held back. 😅 Maybe Terry need to recalculate his tire choice with lower profile. And Terry have to start with TorquePro and bluetooth OBD.and monitor various dash info like cact, water temp, VE, timing, etc.
This will possibly be the only high speed drive ever for this vehicle, so no need for all those stuff. As a driver, I adapt to the vehicle condition, and drive it as best as I can. We live with what we have - better to see it a half full rather than complain it is half empty.
@@YSKhongDriving I still owe you the pleasure to drive a RX300t. Due to weakening of the Yen, the Japanese vendor decided discontinue certain products until further notice. Hence, I cannot finish with what I started. It is the last thing that has to be done. I update you next year with good news I hope.
I just bought one. I hope they stay with the stylish shaping for future models. Im not a fan of the box shape Landrover types. With a bit of work on the 4x4 drivetrain, this SUV has the potential to grow into a formidable competitor against the toyota Fortuner and maybe even steal a bunch of prospective Prado owners. Let's hope it's stands the test of time. For now it's a great family soft roader that can still do a lot more than is expcted of it.
I think the reason why the handling seems poor even in sport mode is because of the settings. People who buy or test drive this car forget to explore their car settings correctly. There is an option in the settings under drive where you associate your steering to the driving mode you are in...for instance, if you do choose sport mode, the car will become faster but still stay in comfort mode in terms of steering...you have to change the setting to "associated steering" so that whatever mode you choose, the feel of the drive is associated with it....
Steering weight are constantly in sports mode (stiffer) setting for me regardless of driving modes selected. Comfort is too light for my taste considering I switched from a Mazda 3 2.0 BP which has far amazing handling and steering feel. The stiffer steering settings were the bare minimum for me.
Power delivery looks awesome but let down by its non-direct, super light steering thereby severely affecting its handling. I'm waiting for Aderen's turn to do his Genting run on this powerful SUV. He skillfully drove the Omoda 5 up the same mountain peak recently despite both SUVs having the same over-assist steering setup.
Compare to my wife's X90 and the video of ys test drive of the x90 earlier, and I strongly feel that the x90 takes corner much better than the tiggo 8 pro!
Plenty of power but it needs a well experienced driver when ur speeding & taking corners...AWD makes the differences in term of stability and control...Uncle Khoong definitely could tame this but ordinary drivers facing the risk of losing balance...For me the best AWD will be Subaru all d way...hehehehe
I think 99% of this car owners won't drive their cars that crazy. I even think it's a bit abusive driving and Terry may regret his initial decision. A good professional driving though. 😂😂😂
Absolutely no regrets! It was an experience like no other. And hey, if I ever get another new car that Uncle YS hasn't driven, I'd totally let him take the wheel again. But only if I get to call shotgun! 😂
@@daboss. The fact that the car was pushed to overheating meant a lot. It's definitely abusive or even a bit reckless. Anybody should know about the damages overheating will do to any car. I understand this was part of the racing experience but if this was my car I would not do that and therefore I say 99% of the drivers won't do that.
If you stop quickly enough, overheating won't have any long term effects on the car. I think modern cars will be able to handle 5 minutes of overheating.😅
