I saw migrants living in hotels and yet amercians living on the streets in tents. How is that making sense? Trust me, I was a Democrat and voted for Obama two terms. Sadly this party has become something I hardly recognized

A lot of the state is staunchly Republican, especially Sussex County, a good part of Morris County and the shore areas. Plenty of Trump signs down there this summer. Problem is, the cities offset that. Newark, Camden, Paterson, etc. Same issue in New York. Upstate has a lot of Republican strongholds. It's just hard to overcome the sheer numbers in the five boroughs that go overwhelmingly Democrat.

If NJ people are suffering economically as the rest of the nation and surely they are, they'll vote for Trump. If they have children of military age, they'll vote for Trump. If they prefer gas cars because e-vehicles are expensive and don't work in their cold weather that well, they'll vote for Trump.

It doesn't matter. The liberals in this state are so deranged that they will continue to vote Dem no matter how piss poor they are. Many liberals here think it is a wonderful idea to allow illegal immigrants to come join us and are salivating over the $6,000 promised child tax credit. Mostly they have TDS and believe MSNBC is the real deal. On the other hand, there are a lot of ultra-wealthy residents in this state who are completely out of touch with the gravity of the situation and think Kamala is the savior. The middle class here are the ones shitting our pants over taxes on unrealized investment gains and price controls. The middle class is smaller here so not many Trump votes can be expected from this state.

I live in NJ and the amount of Trump signs on lawns, flags, homes decorated, bumper stickers etc you name it they are EVERYWHERE today and more keep showing up… There are pop up roadside Trump merch stands there’s a dedicated “Let’s Go Brandon” store the county south of mine … I think people are going to be shocked by NJ come November

Honestly, I'd say give it 20-30 years before giving the idea of New Jersey being a swing state any thought. During this epoch or zeitgeist or whatever you want to call it, New Jersey is a solid blue state

I asked this very question about NY in your ep2 video. I wish you saw it and got to it.. Was really curious.. Giving all the illegals flooding the streets of IL and NY, I wouldn't expect Trump to win this election but ppl are clearly trending towards conservative values and if he can swing some of the numbers in these states, 2028 might get interesting.

Better chance for Virginia (my home state) than Jersey. I think it’ll be a lighter blue but not in danger. Probably 12 points.

  • @kalkuttadrop6371

It's also important to note Trump being from where he is and his unique appeal hits New York and New Jersey way more than any other blue states.
A future Republican, even one who does better in Virginia and holds the swing states, would almost certainly do worse in those two states. That's kind of just Trump's zone and the home turf advantage helps.

The thing about blue states is that there will always be some percentage of the population who won't bother to vote because they're disenfranchised by the monumental electoral hurdle that is living in a blue state. No one can tell just how close an election could really get without making the conservative populations in those states believe they have a shot at winning.
