  • Bream fishing around bridges with fresh bait ( herring )
    The trick it to use as light weight line & sinker as you can get a way with for the area you fish .
    LINE
    (4lb - 10lb mono line ) ( braid line 4lb - 8lb with a 4lb - 12lb leader )
    SINKER size 0 - 2 depending on the current
    HOOK size 6 - 1/0
    BAITS TO USE - herring , mullet , pilchard , prawn , nippers , worms ,crabs
    if there's heap of oysters on the bridge pylons or a rocky bottom or both it pays to fish the heaviest line you can get a bite on cause there will get you on the oysters easy as they are razor sharp.
    TACKLE I USED IS AT START OF VIDEO cheers

      So whats the purpose of the "half hitch"?

    • @kcheong00
      @kcheong00 5 лет назад +4

      Holds the bait much better and doesn't let it just dangle around. It also helps the bait hold on the hook sturdier when it is moving through the currents
      Example would be, imagine a fish or bait that is relatively long. you put a hook on one end. Then you would half hitch the other end.
      If not, what can happen is it would look it is spinning and look un-naturally floating.
      If it is half hitched, the bait would move better with the currents and look more natural as if there was no hook in the bait.
