The Frances Barnet was the luxury version of the James. I had a 197cc 1958 James Captain. Rode it all over the UK, the first Dragon Rally, the National Rally 600mls in 24 hours 2 up, visited 24 check points. Doesn't sound much but keep in mind the Jimmy engine was only good for 7hp! However the bike handled well and was very comfortable to ride.
My first road bike as well the Captain ,mainly commuting or trips to the seaside . You certainly got around on yours . I soon upgraded to a Velocette Viper sports . Happy days .
The Villiers 2T such a reliable engine, used by many british bike companies.
A very cool bike

Fun little thing! 👍
Is that the TT model ?
£2750 for a Franny B! Who'd have thought it?😂
Why not, people are quite happy to pay 6+ grand for a seventies sports moped 🤔🙄
Would have been around £200 new.
Pretty much a 2-stroke Jubilee.
