- In this video I want to show you an onboard footage of the new 2014 Radical RXC making a few laps around Monza circuit.
This particular one is fitted with the optional 3.0 liter RP-series V8 engine producing 480BHP.

That car is really fast! Would like to hear some accelerations from the outside!
One of the most impressive V8 inside one of the most impressive cars in the world.
This engine comes from two modified Suzuki blocks if i remember well. Great engine!
2 hayabusa motors
They have kept the Suzuki Hayabusa heads, and made everything else. No harmonic ballancer, or crank balancing though. Not an engine I would want to run on the street.
I love the sound of this car. Looks really well planted too. Wish list just got longer.

***** Monza is not a point and squirt track you muppet and the rule on a track day is that if a faster driver comes up behind you then you slow down and get off the racing line. The faster driver does not have to make the pass because they aren't racing. Get your facts right before you go slating people in the comments of a youtube video.
No 'point and squirt' refers to the track ie Monaco is a point and squirt track whereas Monza isn't. As I am a racing driver I think that I would have my facts straight whereas you're just a motorsport fan!
I know what you're saying but a 'point and squirt' track usually refers to a track that is narrow and twisty like Monaco and Cadwell Park (if you like in England and know that track)

You can easily notice the brutal breaking power on the passenger helmet's abrupt movement under breaking and also the impact when shifting gears... :) nice!

"The RP-V8 engine comprises Suzuki GSX-R Hayabusa cylinder heads, mounted to a dedicated dry-sump crankcase. A flat-plane steel billet crankshaft transmits power to the gearbox while a gear drive rotates the Formula One-specification scavenge pumps, twin oil supply pumps and the coolant pump." Basically they built their own engine from two Hayabusa (4 cyl) bike engines.
A wild looking car, pretty accurate name for it. :) And man it's fast as hell!
amazing,a height sensing road car,a laser scans the ground ,raising the car when pulling in over bumps,driveway lips,etc that would make it so much enjoyable.

900KG max downforce at 900KG of weight! That is 1G of downforce, what is it like 3G lateral G force? I guess it can race with Lemans SP cars. Is it really road legal? I mean imagining you can actually cornering in empty mountains at 150km/h.

I do not see the issue with the 458 or the Radical. It was a trackday not a race. They did what was expected of any trackday. What for the straights to pass not in the middle of a 150kmh corner.. Even in endurance racing, you would show similar caution.

Man I wish they offered this engine in the street legal version... Ariel (basically) did with the atom 500, why no RPE edition road leagal Hayabusa block V8? is the hartley h1v8 design really so different? Ok I'm rambling at this point, I just think a car this track-bred should have a suitably track-bred engine, even in street-legal form.

That's some amazing footage. I liked the two-shot effect and that you played sections of the car on the track from inside and outside the car.
I noticed a strange whistle appear when the RXC was shifted into 7th gear. To me it seemed more mechanical than from speed/friction of the air. Am I imagining this sound, is it an issue, and what do you suppose was causing it?

+Richard Adams The xrc v8 is not turbocharged. The sound you are hearing is from straight cut gears in the Quaife gear box. They make a horrible whine. Road cars, and some race cars, use helical cut gears, which are quiet, but the angled gear shape causes high axial loads (the angle tries to spit the gear out sideways) which requires a much stouter and heavier transmission case. The straight cut gear transmission helps shave critical pounds.
I'm willing to bet this engine is the same used in the Ariel Atom v8,an engine made from 2 Hayabusa superbike engines.
Busa cylinder heads...the rest is manufactured in-house.

Awesome car and great video but I think you need to have more clips of accelerating from the outside, not just this but for your other videos as well like the sitting and revving ones are (IMO) pretty boring. Don't hate just constructive criticism?

I don't know much about these cars.
But why are they so bumpy when you drive them?
I know they're so low to the ground and have tremendous amounts of down force.
Wouldn't that like make it an air ride being stuck on the ground?
It's more about the suspension on race/track cars being extremely stiff for the purposes of responsiveness and flat cornering.
No, it means you feel every bump and dip in the road - at high speeds it can get pretty bumpy.
The idea is that they're track cars though- if you're going fast, you're probably on a nicely paved track where bumps are less of an issue.

2 stroked 1300 cc hybusa motors twined together to make this 3000 cc aka 3.0L v8 beast! put a fine tuned turbo on that shit and its gonna be formula 1 fast! there is a video of one on a dyno. look up "turbo radical on dyno"

I don't think they are using a V8 they are using a 4 and 6 cylinder Ford engine
Not this one. They make a version with Ford ecoboost V6 with over 500hp, but this one has RPE 3 litre naturally aspirated flat plane v8 that redlines at 10500 rpm. I think it's more expensive than ecoboost, and probably no faster, but the sound is so worth it.

È una macchina da corsa senza alcun compromesso, in pratica significa che è fatta solamente per correre in pista. Non è fatta per cambiare la radio, bere la coca cola mentre vai a 200km all'ora o per fare il figo al bar con gli amici... Della linea in pista non te ne fai granché, la linea di quest'auto è pensata espressamente in funzione dell'aerodinamica non per piacere al figlio di papà di turno.
Considerando che costa quasi 10 volte meno di una porsche 918 e che in pista gli sta davanti direi che per quello che deve fare( CORRERE) è ottima.
