Love Ben Crawford. Due to timing, I’ve probably seen him the most on stage, nine times since 8/19 and if it weren’t for covid it would be a lot more. Great interpretation.
Hell even in this video I love how he moves. He's an impudent child inhabiting a grown man's body. He's gotten everything he wants and is in total control but has no idea what to do with any of it. Ben seems to play up that he's an awkward, volatile shut-in who never REALLY thought he would get this far and I feel like his movements match that perfectly
Broadwaypuppet His physical and sometimes acting doesn’t match how I envision the Phantom. He sounds and moves like he’s just going through his marks on stage, rather than giving it a fresh interpretation.
I saw Bens 7th performance as the Phantom back in April 2017 and he’s improved so much since then and has definitely became an upper echelon Phantom. I too think he’s kind of rigid in some of his acting choices (I prefer the phantom style of Hugh Panaro or Peter Jöback, but that’s just me), but he hits every note with ease, especially during Music of the Night, AIAOY Reprise, and here in the lair.

I love how he says “Make your choice”. It sounds like it really pains him to do this to Christine
Amazing! Ben is an incredible Phantom. Bravo.

Absolutely agree. Ben is a phenomenal Phantom. He is my favorite. His voice is incredible. He is the definition of a perfect Phantom.
10:18 that’s a great addition, also heart breaking 😢
What day is this from?? I saw it February 18 and it was the same cast, this could easily be the performance I was at
bitchass GET OUT, I WAS THERE ON FEBRUARY 18th TOO. Awww that’s awesome we were at the same show.
Danger Noodle Dude is this from the front row? If so I was literally right behind you, but in the center.
What Phantom of the Opera on Broadway will do with Ali Ewoldt depart?
Is that Anthony from Sweeney Todd?
Yes! Jay played Anthony in the Lincoln Center Concert version of Sweeney Todd!
@@jacquelinefu3534 before he had the man stache
Most Christine’s are more singer than acting but Eryn’s is pretty good at both
What year is this from?
For me, Ben was just never convincing as this character. I gave him plenty of chances.
Ben has a wonderful voice but he's still too clipped and mechanical in his movements. There's no flow or little emotive inflection.

I saw Laird Mackintosh as the phantom yesterday and he was very clipped and didn’t hit all the notes
