Crazy to think that 100 miles an hour was unheard of a decade ago, but now it's pretty much the normal for any bullpen arm and a good amount of starters. Would love to know how many of the 100 mph+ were thrown by left handers and right handers? Gotta think Chapman/Wagner are the only two LHP to regularly hit 100 mph
yeah but Torres should be 2nd base rn. If they don’t resign LeMahieu they better get Didi Back or even Marcus Stroman to be a two way player.(low key Stroman is a good hitter)
yea. I went to games with my grandfather. I remember begging him not to leave early ( in between 8th and 9th innings) when I thought he was gonna pitch
@@AVar5 yea I remember my grandfather picking me up from kindergarten on the day of his debut. my parents were trying to have me go to a playdate but my grandfather kinda stole me and we went to his debut.

I remember being at the Louisville Bats game when he hit 105 in a game. Even as a kid, I knew that Chapman was something special and that he was gonna have a great career
Holy shit. At 3:54 Bartolo Colon threw a 100 mph fastball during his stint with the Indians. He happened to have thrown it on the day I was born! I’m a White Sox fan and Bart’s time on the South Side was mostly forgettable but how could one hate Big Sexy? Awesome vid my man.
I remember the amount of hype Chapman got when he started to play for the Reds. It was must watch TV if the Reds were on ESPN that week. I remember thinking to myself and to my Dad "Could you imagine if we got him after Mo?" when he pitched at the 2015 All-Star game. 5 months later, he gets traded to the Yankees for a pool of prospects that never panned out. I didn't even hesitate to order a Chapman jersey when they became available. Ever since then, I've rarely missed a night when Chapman is pitching.
as a Cubs fan, I'm happy that Chapman helped win the WS, albeit the hard way. that said, I'm pissed that the Cubs had to give up #1 prospect Gleyber Torres to the Yankees to get him. Torres is a fantastic player
I know for a damn fact you’re gonna be the next big baseball channel. Your content is truly addictive. Please keep it up, I’ll help spread the word myself if I have to!
Seriously the amount of torque he generates with that windup is insane, it almost looks like he’s drifting backwards to the left but that’s not possible
@SAMUEL JACOBOWITZ I played in JuCo and scouts said he threw 100 but he hut me with 96 and in that game he averaged 96-99... many guys throw heat at that age but honestly I didnt see him hit 100 but he hit me with 96
SAMUEL JACOBOWITZ a buddy of mine plays on a Boston travel team n he throws 96 mph with a devastating curve n been scouted by the Yankees and marlins but he smokes too much weed lol
Great video, Sports Storm- def some quality content! I hardly EVER subscribe to new channels, but you got me to hit that button on the very first try! Well done- please keep them coming!!!
One of the only things I remember from science class in high school was that it’s not humanly possible to throw harder than 106 MPH. Chapman hit this once, although many attribute it to a computer rounding error. It was some kind of equation that he showed us. The funny thing is...that was in my chemistry class😂🤦♂️ Anyway great video, man!
To be fair he got 99 to the face back once so I’d call it even with all the guys he’s pegged, but he is the reason for the extra face shielding on helmets these days.
I’m a 6’7 freshman in high school who can throw a 108 mph slider with a 115 mph fastball with sink. I also routinely hit home runs 470 feet but my mom says I should pursue being a cook. What should I do
Verlander threw 100 after seven innings of work. Kerry Wood, Sandy Koufax, Nolan Ryan and Bob Gibson all threw smoke for nine innings. Much more impressive.
4:09 does that say Big Sexy threw 100 in a game AND that Mike Sweeney crushed it? Where's THAT video? And why is it the 6th OR 8th inning? Do they not know?
I took a 85 mph fast ball to the femur. It wasn't 99 mph but it gave me osteochondroma ten years later. Getting hit in the femur is the second worst hit you can take.
I believe it the whitesox currently have 3 guys just in there bullpen that can throw 100 mph or very close to it (Zach burdi, Codi heuer, and Aaron bummer)
The draft and mlb players unions does not have rookies best interest at heart and it's a shame. Don't get paid till many many years after they made it to the league.
I live in Cincy so I'm a bit partial to him. To me he is fastly becoming the best closer of all time. Only reason I say he's not already considered the goat is he needs to be there a couple more years. 100% HOFer tho even he stops right now
There is no way he will ever be considered above Rivera, he is yet to even get to half the number of saves of the Sandman, he might be considered the best of a generation, and a couple more decent years & he will be a HOF player, but nowhere near the the greatest
@@MyBallsUrJaws With the way pitchers arms are monitored now, nobody will get close to Rivera. If you have a 15 year major league career you would need to average 44 saves a year to beat his record. Since the 2016 season in which 5 guys made that mark only 7 guys have gone above 40 saves, and only 2 of those above 44 saves. Chapmans main problem to getting in the HOF is he needs to get back to the WS else his WS defining moment will be the game 7 blown save. Even though he was key to us even getting through that WS run, if he doesn't get back to the WS when it comes to HOF discussions it will always be did he choke in the big game and the ALCS in '17 & '19 where he got smacked around by Houston (probably something to do with a bin)
I dont care how much he denied and complained about winning in 16' for the Cubs. He was a value and if he stayed with the Cubs he would've had another ringer then or in the near future
I’d take Chapman yard every time, I’m just built different.
